an excellent stay in a truly stylish and luxury hotel though be aware you will have to pay for all those little extras. if you are a spendthrift this is not the place for you but if you have the cash and enjoy the best service, atmosphere and desire relaxation this is a sanctuary in the fantastic location of rome. upsides: excellent bar service and light music entertainment during the evening in front of exquisite art works. the spa services and facilities are world class and should be experienced by all. the view from the top floor restaurant and bar is fantastic and the food is an experience; though immature taste buds might initially struggle or alternatively discover a new world of fine cuisine and never touch fast food again. the breakfast is one of the best i have seen for catering for all needs and tastes. this is a place to take your time in. don’t rush, relax, walk and look around, ask questions and savour true style and elegance. downsides are few but you have to be aware of the location of the hotel but again if sightseeing use the shuttle service and you can walk everywhere from the drop off points. if not the shuttle, cabs from the hotel were not that expensive (say euro 20 to city) though again be aware of the traffic as this can easily double at peak times. cabs back to hotel tend to be significantly more especially at night. getting here by public transport maybe should be avoided as costs go up and it is very time consuming and not that convenient, best tips: use the concierge they are very helpful and can save you loads of time, help with any language issues, gain you access to that special back street restaurant and assist with spending your money in a variety of innovative ways. the special events such as private vatican trips, sunday brunch and the in-house art tour are well worth the time.

this is a good hotel if you are just looking for somewhere to sleep each night, and spend your money on other things. it is well priced, basic, in a residential area, safe, clean. it isn't central and the surrounding area is probably not going to meet the images you have in your mind about what rome looks like, but you take the bus in to the centre to get that. it cost about euro for the airport pick up/drop service, for the car, whether there's 1 or 4 people.

The hotel is beautiful with plenty of scenic views. If you're high up, you can even see how the hotel overlooks the city! There is a large patio area to sit and relax, enough for privacy so that other's aren't eavesdropping. I'm unsure why the hotel is getting dinged by others about it's location; it isn't advertised as being in the center. If you book and choose not to look at a map to determine the location, that is your problem. Expect a 30-45min bus ride from Termini Station though. The 913 bus gets you *almost* everywhere. The M&G Restaurant had great food as well but we didn't like the shrimp pasta. The pizza, pasta, chicken was amazing as they have a true wood fired oven. Menu is a la carte, so better to mix chicken and pastas and share. Reasonably priced and the owner was one of the most pleasant people we encountered. PROS: Atmosphere, scenic views, plenty of good restaurants and shops within walking distance, helpful staff CONS: Very loud rooms - housekeeping starts early

I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights while in Rome on business. The location was perfect for my needs as the venue of an event I was attending was 500 metres away. The hotel is, however, not that close to the centre of Rome (it's more in the suburbs). This suited me perfectly for my purpose, but might not be what everyone wants (you can take a bus which requires a 10 minute walk and a 20 minute ride so it is accessible). From what I could figure out, the hotel is a converted villa so there are around 3 floors, each with 3 or so rooms. I stayed in what can be described as a cottage outside of the main building but I believe it's the best room - I saw the other rooms and mine was far larger with a lounge, bedroom, outside patio and big bathroom. The staff were really good and pleasant (and attentive - if you wanted breakfast in your room or coffee at any time they were happy to help). Can definitely recommend this place - it just depends on how close you want to be to the centre but if this isn't a concern then it's ideal.

It was a pleasant stay the staff was really helpful at everything we wanted (printing some tickets for Vatican, searching for Coloseum visits etc), the hotel is located near the subway (5 mins) and has quite nice view from most of the rooms facing a big forest-park. The breakfast is not for a 4 stars hotel and also the room was little small but clean. Generally for its price is a very good option and i will recomend it is really great value for money although it shall be rated 3 stars

We had a lovely stay. We were given a suite with a living room and kitchen as well as the bedroom, the staff were incredibly friendly (and even offered us a lift into town!). It was easy walking distance to the Vatican or the Metro. The area is not the greatest and I probably wouldn't wander about at night, but during the day it was absolutely fine. The room was clean and the hotel let us check out late on the Sunday with no extra fee.

among all hotels and apartments we stayed at during our 10 day trip to france and italy, aurelia vatican apartments is actually the nicest place, good value for money. before we arrived, sam and kate emailed us a very detailed and clear instruction about how to get to their place using public transport, which is of course very helpful for first timers in rome like us. the apartment is only 3 minutes walk to the bus stop, so it's very convenient. there is a kitchen with cookers, cutlery, chinaware and pans. we love the balcony like all others who stayed here before us. we definitely will recommend this place to all our friends. please do not hesitate to ask the owners for anything you want to know, they are absolutely friendly and helpful. also, we recommend to try out the local restaurants that sam and kate introduce, good food for reasonable price.

The apartment is really nice and spacious. Especially the kitchen is very useful. You can cook anything there, as all basic ingredients and tools are provided. An the terracce is lovely, I could sit there for hours. Roberto the host is a very nice person. He even picked us up from the metro station :) He also gave us a lot of informations about Rome and what we could do there. We really enjoyed our stay there. Thank you a lot Roberto !!!!
