"The hostel has a problem with black mold (even in the dorm beds you will face it) & with stinking pipes. The hostel design is nice, but there is no warmth or atmosphere whatsoever. Most of the staff (? acquaintance of owner) just bluntly stare at you, but without a smile, not even a short hello/nihao, which makes you feel awfully awkward and uncomfortable. (The cleaning girl was nice!). The dorm is a box, which is alright if you stay 1 or 2 nights and if there are max 2 ppl in there. The breakfast ist nice. In the afternoon the common room is dark/ cold and seems to be shut down from electricity… kitchen WiFi wasnt strong and the entrance area (tables, light) is always occupied by staff/acquaintences mentioned above. There are much more welcoming hostels in Yilan County!"

"Book this when you're in Yilan, it's about 10mins walk from Yilan Station(Rear entrance, 後站). The staff both male and female are professional and approachable. The place is sparkling clean, especially the bathroom. "

"The owner of the hostel is super nice! Comfortable bed, quiet and clean space. Just a bit far away to walk from Yilan train or bus station. You would need to take a minibus to get to the station. "

"Exceptional homestay/hostel with a human touch that you'll rarely find in a typical hostel. This place is newly renovated, rooms are spacious, beds are comfy, and the living room has a relaxing atmosphere for people to gather and chill. The host and staff treated travelers like friends and shared useful tips on interesting things to do nearby. Dali is a little known area but this is a great place for diving and water activities. There's also a historical hike trail up the mountains with amazing views of the Pacific Ocean coastline. Definitely my first choice of stay when visiting the Yilan district!!"
