Termini Central Station hotels & places to stay

Stayed in the Royal Court for 3 nights while visiting Rome with my pregnant wife, 7 year old, and 18 month old daughters. It is in a very convenient location being two blocks to Romi Termini (central train station), the Rome Metro line, several restaurants, convenience stores, and an ATM. The staff was very helpful and friendly. We were able to drop off our luggage early on the day of our check-in, and it was waiting for us in room when we returned later that evening. The check-in was very smooth, and the staff highlighted the sights and hotel location on a very useful Rome map. Breakfast is 16 Euro, but it is worth it. Excellent selection of meats, cheeses, eggs, fruits, cakes, coffees, teas, drinks, etc. The room is slightly dated, but the bathroom was spacious and clean with plenty of hot water. The beds were average as far as comfort, but after a long day of walking nobody had any problems falling asleep! A real plus was the availability of a baby cot for our toddler. My only complaint about the room would be the doors are a bit thin, and you could hear noise from the hallway (only happened once). We never heard any noise from the other rooms however. The WiFi is ok - good enough for email but not much more. Mobile reception was weak in the hotel, but excellent on the street. It was a great stay overall, and you really can't beat the location!

Funky hotel with cool rooms. The shower was awful which sprayed more on the wall than out the showerhead, and the pressure was a bit more than a trickle. However the location was amazing with a quick stroll to a metro station one side, central station on the other and a 15min walk to the Colosseum. The breakfast buffet was pretty poor for the price paid for the hotel; the provided coffee was usually cold (thankfully staff provided a free espresso instead) and the eggs not that great.

We did not stay in this hotel as there was a problem with room. Instead , the hotel sent us to their sister hotel, Independent Hotel, which was perfect for a couples holiday. walking distance from Termini Station and many restaurants nearby to eat. Room was very clean and staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was great. WiFi connectivity was good. They allowed us to keep our bags at the lobby although we checked out already since our flight was at night. Would definitely come back to Independent Hotel again if we go to Rome.

This hotel is basic, clean and reasonably comfortable. The 4 star rating is misleading and probably determined after a nights hard drinking as it bears no similarity to any other multi star hotel I've stayed at. However, that said, I recommend this place and will return there on my next Rome visit for two things. Firstly, it is located within a few minutes walk from Termini, the central transport hub. From here you can get a bus, metro, or tram to most parts of the city...in fact from here you can walk to many of the major attractions. Secondly, the included breakfast is served on the roof garden area (hence the name) with views over much of Rome...heavenly!! Actually one more thing to recommend this hotel...you can open the window for some real air and smell of the city!

Easy to find and under 10 mins walk from Termini rail station. Hotel is very modern and looks like it's been refurbished in the last couple of years. All the staff were very welcoming, knowledgeable and fluent in several languages. They recommended tours and will contact the agency to book up for you if required. The breakfast was the same every morning, but plenty of choice available. The tables are quite small though and not much room between them. They offer a 2 course meal with bread and a drink for €18 which seemed decent value. The chicken though was very dry and the sea bass was very small. Drinks are typical hotel prices. There's a Coop just round the corner where you can buy your own beer @ £1 for 660ml bottle and wine for about £5. The receptionists will open these for you if you've not got the tools. Overall I'd recommend this hotel to couples, friends, and families alike. A special "thank you" to Giulia for her help and recommendations.

Booked a very last minute trip to Rome, and, the Artemide Hotel. For first time visitors to Rome, this hotel was in a great location on a main thoroughfare. It had easy access to Termini (train station) and the metro, as well as, taxis when needed. It was also within walking distance (a nice hike with good walking shoes) to historic attractions, as well as, groceries, fruit stands, retail shops and restaurants. We asked at the desk for a nice 'pizza' place nearby and they recommended "Target', an upscale spot a few short blocks away. The food and house wine was excellent. Our room was graciously upgraded upon check-in to a modern deluxe suite. It was spacious, clean and very quiet. European beds are firm but we found it very comfortable. The bathroom vanity was a bit small, but, the water pressure was great. There was also an in-room safe and coffee machine with nice assortment of cookies and crackers, and, yummy candy by the bedside. Surprisingly, the in-house mini-bar was stocked and everything in it was complimentary! A nice breakfast was also included in the room rate. At check-in since the room wasn't quite ready, they provided a complimentary welcome drink at their rooftop restaurant. We had a great lunch there on our last day, enjoying the chance to soak up some sun. The hotel has a cozy seating area off the lobby with beverages available throughout the day, as well as, a spa. (Note: The only downside was when the hotel called a taxi for a ride to a restaurant our first evening. Through no fault of theirs...the driver over-charged us. For an 11 euro metered fare, he took our 20, and, tipped himself 6 euros, instead of giving the correct change back! Make sure to be bold and ask for the correct change.) I would highly recommend this hotel, especially for first time visitors to Rome.

Everything was wonderful, except for one of the concierge staff. She was a bit rude, and I had to go down everyday to her to ask her to lower the temp in my room ( it felt so stuffy inside, even with outside temp being 13 degree Celsius). The hotel is only. 20 meters from the metro station, and only 2 stops from Rome termini station , the nerve centre of the metro system.

This is our first time in Rome. Hotel is quite accessible from Termini Central Station and the subway is just below the Central Station. Distance is about 5-10mins walk away. We were greeted with a warm welcome by service staff. Arriving pretty early at about 10am, our rooms were available and we were given a pretty spacious room with 2 bathrooms. Breakfast is a good spread comparing to the rest of the hotels we’ve been too. The only set back is that the room does not offer any complimentary tea/coffee and kettle for hot water. We felt that this is quite essential especially in winter. Having said that, when we made the requested for hot water in the night... the bar staff gave us a small jug of it. Overall a good experience!

we stayed 3 days in quirinale hotel, love its best location right next to termini central station, highly convenient to take intra-city trains and metro sightseeing around rome. the executive room is spacious and clean, with view of opera house next door. hotel is rich in traditional italian style and decoration, with good variety of breakfast food selection. we would rank the hotel much higher if the staff service with smile. during 3 days, we observed no staff would ever greet hotel guests with 'good morning'. and even when we said 'buon giorno' to hotel staff, they hardly respoonded, which was very odd. it was close to the start of easter holiday, and we found hotel staff get busy and busier when more tourists coming to town. the breakfast session was absolutely 'unforgettable' experience, as we saw hotel staff taking and putting dishes/food in terrible manner, almost like throwing dishes into the plastic drawer, making loud and annoying noise. again we like the hardware - great location with proximity to central train station, metro and well-known archeological sites in walking distance. yet the software - staff service attitude - is hardly acceptable for a four-star hotel.

We had very good experience at the hotel. It was exceptionally clean and convenient in location. It is located just outside of station Repubblica, which is one station from Termini, where you can take trains to anywhere you like. The hotel is located in an old building which houses another boutique hotel. Staff was kind and they were responsive in emails and solving your problems with the room or luggage or restaurant booking. One staff taught me some Italian words too when I told him I am learning Italian ! I specially like the breakfast , served in the restaurant downstairs called Cotto. Breakfast was very rich and delicious , buffet with homemade cakes and torte, fruits and ham and eggs. We stayed in a room with hot tub. At the same time there is a separate toilet. The only inconvenient do was that the tub was small so big person may have difficulty to get in or out, unless he or she opens the glass screen at the tub. Bath amenities were great too. It was aromatic shampoo and bath sets. The bathroom door was beautiful, with a picture of Zeus at the Trivi Fountain, which was artistic !! If I visit Roma again, I would love to stay in this hotel once more.

Hotel is super near to the Termini central train station. I was travelling from Latina and arrived at the train station, Termini. I went out to look for the hotel and to my surprise it is just about 3 minutes away from the Termini train station. I thought i would have to take a rather long walk. But it was so near i actually smiled and told myself - am i ucky today. It is my first trip to Roma. The hotel is near to a lot of tourist attraction. One can literally walk to a few nice destinations; eg. The Colisseum, Trevi Fountain, Piazza le Spagna etc.... Food/eating places are always round the corners. Very convenient.

Stayed here one night on route back to Australia. Fantastic location for commuting into Rome for sightseeing. We wanted close to Central station for airport. We were in the room with the round bed lol. Beautiful big room with unexpected spa , tea making facilities modern good sized bathroom. Hot shower, great pressure. Breakfast substantial. Eggs bacon salad meats , cheese tomato and of course cakes n more cakes 😂. Staff very accommodating. Very happy. Remember, anywhere in the world I’ve been have homeless people😢. Train stations are a place where they find shelter. Beware of your stuff. Highly recommend this Hotel. Grazie

Rome for 3 nights from the 27th July 2013. Perfect for city break, nice and quiet location close to Subway and Termini (central train station - if you use the trains for airport etc. ).Nearest metro stations area Termini and Repubblica. There´s also bus stops for hop on - hop off sightseeing busses a block from the hotel opposite of Museo Nazionale Romano and on the other side of Termini Train Station on Via Marsala.it´s easy to explore the city by foot, e.g. way to Trevi Fountain is very walkable. Best of all the room great bathroom, very clean and efficient. Service at reception was friendly, polite and helpful all times.There is a fantastic corner street vender on the block with beer, water, wine fruit etc...

We visited Rome in Feb2013 on a Holiday and found this Hotel as one of the best Hotels to stay. First of all, the hotel reception did not trouble us at all asking too many things etc. We reached the Hotel around 9PM, so they allowed us to check-in to our room so quickly, as they knew that we were just after a long flight journey. We got a room on the 2nd Floor, it was excellent, nicely done and we found it very clean. The king size bed was so comfortable and it was just perfect to start our 10 days holiday in Italy. Open the windows if you like the cool breeze throughout the day/night and you can actually enjoy the view just by standing in front of the window. Breakfast is served on the 1st floor of the hotel and it was one of the best in town. The breakfast had many selections, so one could really enjoy without any doubt. Hotel staff members are really helpful and are always willing to assist. Location of the hotel is just perfect as it only takes less than 05 minutes’ walk to the Main Railway Station (Roma Termini), Metro Station (Termini), Bus Terminal and Tram Terminal. There are hundreds of Italian, Indian and Pakistan restaurants around the hotel and also inside Roma Termini Station, which are open till late in the midnight. Super markets and 24 Hour pharmacies, ATM’s are all within the vicinity. Most of main attractions such as Colosseo, Republica Piazza etc are just walking distance and all other Rome attractions are just 02 Metro stations away. By being closer to the Main Railway station gives you another advantage if you’re planning short trips to other cities by speed train (Pisa, Milan, Venice, Florence etc) as they all start from Roma Termini. Also, Leonardo Express Train to/From Rome International Airport (Leonardo Da Vinci Airport) takes only 30 minutes to get there.

The hotel is located closed to Termini central station in a quiet back street. There are not that many rooms which gives the hotel a bit of personal feeling. Upon arrival I found out that 2 rooms were booked under my name which gave some confusion but the reception handled this in a very professional way. I made the booking through Agoda but it turned out that the booking was passed on to booking.com which I did not realize before arrival and gave some confusion due to payment method differences. I liked the hotel for many reasons. The biggest asset is without doubt the staff; friendly, efficient, helpful and problem solving. The rooms are not big but big enough to feel comfortable and everything you need is there and it is very clean. The gym is small but suitable for a standard workout and the breakfast is very good including the freshly squeezed orange juice. There are coffee /tea making facilities in the room and the mini fridge was free to use and replaced on a daily basis, which was a nice gesture. The things that did not make it to a 5 star review for me was the unstable wifi connection during the weekend days (no problem at all during the week days) and the fact that the heating system is centrally regulated. It was far too hot in the room and it was impossible to change this. The staff took the plug out so the system did not work in my room, but that still did not solve the high temperature in the room, which made me sleep with open windows with the noise from the street. Except for these 2 things I think it is a very good hotel that I can easily recommend.

Room for 4 people is clean, toilet is big and clean, linen sheet and bed cover, floor is also clean. Breakfast and location is excellent, it is very easy to walk from Roman Termini, just few minutes. Our family have been in EU, many cities travelling by train, and this hotel I have to say, worth every penny you have paid, I could say this is the best main Station Hotel in EU we ever been stayed. Comparing to the price we've paid, their staff services and breakfast are 5 stars hotel. The hotel manager saw my exhausted two children who arrive Rome from 14 hours flight, she offer the 4 of us to have free breakfast, while we are so hungry, and all restaurant nearby not opened yet. We stayed there during Christmas, and all staffs are so warmly welcome, and very helpful about surroundings, and metro explanation. We will absolutely stay at this hotel again for our next trip in Rome. Recommend to everyone who look for hotel this price level.

The hotel situated in a very convenient location which make it very easy to commute to many places as it is in a walking distance to subway (within 5 minute walk) and you can walk to Collossuem. The hotel staff is very friedly and provide suggestion and map for travelling. Breakfast is good and you can pack your breakfast if you have an early morning trip. If you travel by train from aiport to Rome, you can get off at Roma Termini and catch a subway to the hotel just only three station. Room is very clean and looks new.

The hotel is right next to the UK embassy so it is a safe area. It is also close to a subway station and the main Termini. Walking without luggage to the main Termini is about 10 minutes. With luggage, the cab is only EURO $10 (when you call the taxi, the taxi do charge you for the distance to your hotel and the distance to your destination but it is $10 total after all). The room itself is clean and spacious. I use the tub everyday after the extensive tourist walk. Breakfast is good too given that the room is only $150 per night after tax. Staffs are nice and helpful. We got a round bed which we are not so used to but they have regular king too.

“We, a group of 3, spent 20 days across 5 destinations across Europe in late November and early December. We stayed at Hotel Demetra in Rome (our final city) for 4 nights which I have to say as the most satisfying stay in Europe. The staffs are really helpful, giving us advices how to make the most out of our time to cover tourist cramped city of Rome and help us remade our itineraries to be perfect! We even made a one day Venice trip with train beside covering main attractions and shopping in Rome. Wifi is good. The best thing is being in walking distance from Roma Termini station and we could access the train, bus or metro very easily.”

By no means its a four star hotel , its a good 3 star hotel with decent room and great breakfast. Good value for money and excellent location (just 2 mins walk from main Termini station. The area is very nosiy at times due to its central location and you can have sleeping issues.It would have been nice if the hotel had tea/coffee making facilty in the room. in the end no major complains but will try another hotel next time. If you are muslim lots of halal indian resturants within walking distance

Breakfast was wonderful, staff was wonderful, the location was ideal--very close to the Termini bus, train, and metro station. Lots of amazing restaurants, shopping, and sights very close by. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful with information and arranging transportation when we needed something a little extra. The sister hotel across the street has a beautiful rooftop restaurant that we were able to utilize and the nighttime views of Rome from the roof were breathtaking. We plan to stay here again when we come back.

A metro station is just 200m walking distance, so many restaurants nearby and some are really tasty and all open pretty late. It quit belongs to the general neighborhood of Termini since it takes about 15mins walk to reach or just one stop by the metro. Sincerely suggest tourists to stay in this area better than in the Termini, since Termini surroundings are much messier and more complicated which you should take more care of personal belongings. We stayed this hotel for three nights, I'd say it definitely worth the money.
