Spagna hotels & places to stay

Look I work for a major airline and travel a lot I’m over 55 and know a good value when I see one. The hotel was fabulous! Spagna Royal Suite has an excellent breakfast service that was calming and delicious! The location was walking distance from all major tourist attractions. But what made the stay so comfortable was the hotel staff. Romina, Sara,Roberto,Johncarlo could not do enough for you. They were very knowledgeable of the area and were on call 24 hours a day. Whatever you needed they knew how to help you. Recommending where to eat, shop nightlife etc... language was not a problem. I highly recommend The Spagna Royal Suites and would definitely love to stay there again! Book early The do fill up quickly.

Got to Agoda through TripAdvisor. Seemed like an unusual name but was rated really well so we gave it a shot. Down a rather unlikely alley but nice front entrance. They sit you down in a small office to check in and bring you a glass of proseco. Nice. Lots of interesting and quirky art. We had a standard premium room which was nice albeit rather small. Fabulous looking shower. Terrific roof deck. Standard vodka tonic was $25! Wouldn't hesitate to return. Just wouldn't drink in the bar. No one in dining room on a Thur. night when they said hotel was booked.

Location was excellent as it is 5 mins walk to Spanish Steps, 10mins walk to Trevi Fountain. Shopping and food are readily available around the hotel (good location for those who love luxury shopping). We took the overnight train from Paris to Rome Termini Main Railway Station. Termini Main Rail Station has the Metro at the basement which brings us directly to Metro Station - Spagna (nearer to hotel - 3 stops from Termini Station). But it is abit tricky to get to the hotel if you are not familiar around the area though it is less than 10 mins walk from Spagna Metro. Hotel check in was quick and fast. But one thing to warn is the lift!! This is one of the smallest lift i have seen in my lift. It is only meant for 1 passenger plus a luggage! My husband and i had to take turns to go up with our luggage. There was a musky smell in the room but thank goodness, we were able to open the windows to air up the room. There was also a buzzing sound coming from the aircon. Bathroom was clean and ok but shower cubicle is quite small. For those who are bigger built, you might bump around the doors in the cubicle. The best part was that the water pressure is strong! There is no hot water flask in the room and if you will like to have warm water, all you need to do is to call the front office for it. Basically, experience is good during my stay as the location is really excellent. I will still go back to the hotel if i do visit Rome again.

Was a surprisely pleasant stay. We were impressed with the comfortable room size and the hotel looked new and clean with a modern design. Nothing too fancy about breakfast but we really appreciated the hot food selection. The best thing of Trevi Collection is its great location. A mere 5 mins walk to Spanish Steps and shopping. 15 mins walk to Trevi Foundation. 30 mins walk to Colossum but you might choose to take the metro located at spanish steps ( spagna) just 4 stops away.

The service was immaculate from the moment we arrived, the room was a little smaller then we had anticipated but was beautiful and had everything we needed. There are lovely touches which do make it feel 5* rather than so many other 5 star hotels which are more like 4*, including the turn down service and the incredible bar. Definitely make an effort to have a drink here even if you are not eating in the restarurant. The staff were extremely accommodating and even sent a bottle of prosecco to the room for my birthday even though we had not mentioned it. The only change I would possibly make would be to have tea and coffee amenities in the room but this was a small wish. I would happily stay here for every visit to Rome.

We stayed in a superior double for 4 nights in September. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and suitable for tall people (at least for 6`2). The breakfast was also great. The location was pretty good, only blocks from the Spanish steps and Piazza Popolo, and everything else was you would want to see was within walking distance, including the Vatican, which was less than a 30 minute walk. Unfortunately, the power went out twice and the wifi was spotty at best in the room. We also found the toilet quite frustrating - you had to flush, then wait a few minutes while the tank filled up and then pull on the button to stop the water from running, which was incredibly frustrating in the middle of the night. That said, the staff was very helpful. They helped us reserve a private transfer to the airport very early in the morning. Due to a marathon, the private car was delayed so they made arrangements for a taxi to be ready when we got downstairs to check out (we didn`t even know there was a problem yet) and we even saved a few euros.

What a sensational hotel - our second time at this property and again we were not disappointed. If anything the property has improved since becoming part of the Star Hotel group. Super location / great staff / well appointed and large rooms in the middle of room. 3 minutes to the Spanish steps and in an upmarket shopping area of Rome. Thank you guys we will be back every time we come to Rome.

I had no idea what to expect with my last minute booking My arrival on the busy street was greeted by a smiling staff member. I rounded the entrance my jaw dropped. The hotel was stunning. The building was restored in the highest of perfection. I felt like I was living in a magazine story. The bathrooms were lush with lovely touches of hospitality. The bedrooms were perfectly appointed with soaring ceiling of frothy plasterwork. I am a tough customer who has traveled the world sampling only the best that hospitality has to offer. The Palazzo Dama has been added to that list of an exceptional few. I thank them for their contribution and extraordinary taste and style.

The staff was great! Very friendly and helpful. Rooms were great and very clean. The hotel is very centrally located within walking distance of a lot of sights. They accommodated our request to have our room near our friends/family that we were traveling with and even upgraded all of us to suites. All in all it was a wonderful experience. We will be staying here again the next time that we are in Rome.

We booked this hotel as it is located near to the metro station and attractions (few hundred metres away only to Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain). Unfortunately, on the day of arrival, we found out that the nearest metro stations (Spagna and Barberini) were closed and the hotel staff was super responsive on their website chat and suggested that we take a taxi from Termini station which cost only about Eur6 and Eur 1 for each luggage which is reasonable. The staff at the reception was very helpful and friendly and welcomed us with a warm smile. We booked a room for 4 with description shown as 2 single beds and 1 double bed but was given a double bed, a sofa bed plus an extra bed. Nevertheless, there was still enough space for us to open our big luggage and move around without problem. Highly recommend.

The hotel is strategically located at del tritone, trevi and spagna are walking distance from the hotel. And it is very close to metro station, barberini. So in terms of location, it's superb! I stayed in room on the 1st floor, the room was a bit small, however still have enough space to open up my 1 large luggage, 1 medium luggage and 1 small cabin bag all together. The bed was queen size, a bit smaller than the other hotels i've stayed during my trip, but it's enough, however need larger blanket. The bathroom was clean. I think the room was cleaned twice everyday, because when i left the room in the evening, and back to the room at night it was tidied up.

Excellent location: 10 mins walk to Metro Spagna; you can google and walk along the river Tiber to many tourists' popular spots, including Castel Sant'Angelo (Saint Angel Castle) and Vaticano Musei (Vatican Museum) Excellent service: The receptionist called Mirko demostated the highest standard of service. He patiently introduced the tourist's popular spots around Rome and very considerate, to initaite an take-away breakfest in the morning of my last day in Rome, as i need to catch an early flight, otherwise I would need to go to airport with empty stomach. Also i need to thank you the person who spent extra time to help to prepare the take-away breakfest for us. Extremely clean and tidy: My room is eactly the same as the picture in Agoda. So there is no need to question about the stardard of the room. It is in morden style, neat and tidy. This is what I like very much. Food: Breakfest is very very good. There are sunny-side-up egg or crumble egg to choose, you can try both. Hams and cornflakes are there for your to choose freely. There is a flat HD TV so you can spend some time to watch if you want to understand what Italian culture is about. This hotel is situated in a old building with 1st and 2nd floor. When I first arrived I thoguht I may be get the wrong address. But you would find a small name plate "San Carlo Suite" on left hand side of the door. Inside, my room is really morden style (I think other rooms are morden too). This is very nice that you can have a feeling of normal "home", while inside is the 5-star standard of service. I will definitely return to San Carlo Suite next time when I drop by Rome.

This is our first time in Rome. We booked 2 rooms for 1 night. We had arrived early around 10.30am and we were glad that they were able to allocate us 1 room that was ready. The reception (I believe it is Mr Luca) who was manning the counter noticed that it was my birthday and we had a lovely surprise when the hotel placed a bottle of Prosecco in our room to celebrate the event. This is truly beyond good service. The rooms were large and clean, bed was comfortable. Location is good, walking distance to the Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps and lots of shops. Breakfast that was included has a good spread. We were glad we to have stayed here.

Stayed 2 nights at this hotel, location is excellent halfway between piazza spagna and piazza del popolo, with easy access to villa borghese. All main sites of rome at a stone's throw away. The room was a pleasant surprise, as well as the size of the bathroom! There is a nice rooftop terrace fro breakfast/aperitivo and a 1st floor area where you can work if needed. Highly recommended choice for staying in rome for both business or sightseeing.

I never write reviews - but I must say that we had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The location is excellent couldn't be more central, the staff could not have been more helpful, kind and polite. The breakfasts were a real treat and eating out on the terrace at a time which suits you in the morning was a great bonus. I was with my adult daughter and we both said we will go back later in the year (when the weather is not so hot) with our partners. We had to check out at 11am but our transport did not pick us up until 4.30pm but they looked after our cases while we went out for a last look at Rome. We went back to the hotel at 3pm and they allowed us to use the bathroom on the 4th floor to freshen up and then we sat on the terrace drinking water and tea/coffee that they provided until our transport arrived. Excellent stay

well, actually there are many things i have to say about this hotel .. i stayed 5 nights in the la fenice hotel and i had a well sized room on the first floor no:103.. the room is cleaned everyday .. good location and barberini metro station it takes two minutes by walk it's not far and also spagna metro station, the staff is very and very friendly and helpful. i've never eaten breakfast because i wake up late in the afternoon so i won't talk about it anyways, i was sitting everyday and every night in the roof terrace with a great view & there is a mini bar for free,by the way , the owner of the hotel (he has a four hotels) , three hotels in the same area and one is far, when i checkout i pay it a tax 24 euro but it's okay, i would recommending everyone chooses this hotel ... i'd like to stay again if i get back in rome

This hotel is smack in the middle of the action so at night it could get loud from the busy street and restaurants next door. However i managed to get a very good sleep. Room size is big, we could open 2 big suitcases and 1 medium and there are still space for walking. The bed and pillow is good for my liking. A lot of english and italian tv channel (who would watch tv in rome vacation though) Location wise It’s just 3 minutes walking from the spanish steps and 10 minutes from trevi fountain. Spagna metro is also nearby. There are plenty of restaurants options around. The hotel staffs reccommend us few restaurant which were good. The only downside for me is the bathroom door completely made from glass so if you are traveling with friend like i did, it could be awkward. I did dim the bathroom light and problem solved. One more thing, this hotel do not have elevators. But they do have a very small one only for luggages.

Friendly reception (especially Mario) and attentive housekeeping, spacious room, and the best location for shopping and sightseeing! If I go back to Rome I will surely stay again. P.S: Because Mario worked so hard, I asked him if he was the owner of the hotel. He said "No, but I work hard because this is my work". I was deeply touched by his words. The hotel owner who hired Mario is blessed.

Rarely submit a review, but it's not often I stay in a hotel where it's difficult to find fault with anything. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone thinking of visiting Rome. Location was right beside the Piazza Spagna and 250yrds from the Spanish Steps. Hotel was on the 2nd & 3rd floor of and old building, which may not suit everyone, but there was a quaint old lift for anyone with mobility issues. Circular stone stairway leading to the hotel was a nice touch Room was not overly large (not expected), but was decorated in very Italienesce style (wallpaper was fabric) I immaculately clean and lovely ensuite bathroom. Room service came in and cleaned daily. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful as were the breakfast staff in the morning ( asked us several times if we wanted more coffee or Cappuccino). Breakfast was a mixture of buffet style English/continental. Altogether a lovely holiday.
