For the last 3+ years my wife and I have stayed several times at the Royal Garden Hotel when arriving or departing from Ozamiz, while visiting her family in nearby Oroquieta. Its close proximity to both the airport and ferry are a plus. We normally book the Superior Room, but on our latest stay thought we would try their Imperial Suite. It was nice having the large bedroom area separate from the living/dining room area. Having 2 split-air conditioners, one in the bedroom and one in the living area is a welcomed feature. For the most part, the suite was very clean. However, we didn’t sit on the living room couch because of an odor in the cushions. And strangely, for the Philippines, the hot water pressure in the bathroom (CR) shower/tub and sink was strong with the cold water pressure being very weak. The room safe didn’t function properly, so after several attempt to fix it, housekeeping just gave a master key to unlock it. The food in the hotel’s restaurant is good. Just have a second or third choice ready when ordering, as many items on the menu are not available. Also, give yourself a lot of time, as the service is very slow. Overall, the staff was very polite and accommodating. The guest rooms, while clean, are very dated and tired, showing wear and tear. It is definitely time to freshen and update the interiors. Yes, we will stay here again.
Had a pleasant one night stay at the hotel during my trip to Iligan the following day. The room is clean, the towels are new and immaculate, the pillows and sheets are fresh smelling. The room is big enough and the CR is properly divided between shower, toilet bowl and bathroom sink. Except for the not so good cable signal and internet, the hotel service and facilities are good. Not to forget the restaurant/cafe at the ground floor offers plenty of food choices.

I think one must temper expectations when visiting this hotel. It is essentially the premium one in a small provincial city, so the amenities are pretty basic, the room I was given was smaller and a bit dated. The bed wasn't the most comfortable. There were some insect wings (maybe gamu-gamo), and a few ants crawling in my room, so I asked the staff to have my linens replaced. The towels need to be replaced too as they tend to be rough. The guard helped me get a tricycle everytime I needed one. The staff are quite helpful. The phone in my room had a strange issue so I couldn't make a call, but I can take one. They had a wake up service so I didn't miss my flight out of the city.
Royal Garden is well maintained and perfectly located in a safe and accessible area, especially for its price! The building is old but reasonably clean. The staff are all warm and accommodating.

My stay at Royal Garden Hotel was comfortable. They have friendly staff that will assist you in all your needs from directions in going places and mode of transportation you are going to take. They have clean rooms with hot water in the bathroom. The temperature in the room was comfortable that makes you sleep tight. You can eat at their restaurant with reasonable prices. Overall, Royal Garden Hotel in Ozamis City was truly good and I recommend it if you happen to visit Ozamis City.
