West Midlands, England hotels & accommodations
We had an executive room, which gave us access to the executive lounge. This was fabulous value as free drinks and canapés are served from 6-9pm. Rofuto restaurant was very impressive and breakfast the next morning was one of the best we've had at any hotel. It's a bit of a walk to Birmingham New Street, 15 mins or so, but an über taxi cost less than £3.50. I'd put the...
stayed at the bloc hotel birmingham for one night whilst travelling up to midlands on holidays. the rooms are fine and the staff are friendly. however, it probably is easier to stay at the hotel if you do drive as it's in the middle of an industrial estate.
So reading the reviews on here is thought I may as well put in my 2 pence worth. Ive stayed here on a number of occasions for work and nights out and never once had a problem. The hotel could do with refurbishing but if you’re using this hotel for a nights kip then it’s brill. Word of advice, when booking just always ask for a working heater as I do. Facilities are st...
It was a last minute booking so had no choice , had to take what was available. Enjoyed the stay except considered it very expensive for the type of twin bed rooms we had. Very small single beds (on wheels) , furniture & fittings very dated, & hall & room had a stale smell. The Safe refused to work, no water or refrigerator in the rooms. At best a 3 star. Rooms were sp...
This was my 2nd or 3rd stay at the Britannia. I was fortunate to get a deal on the price through Agoda which made it extremely good value. It was an incredibly hot day and sadly a lady on a higher floor was very vocal throughout the afternoon and night. I pity those who were in the rooms above, below and adjacent to her. We had 3 single rooms ( mother, myself, my son),...
The hotel, facilities, location are all great. It's a good 4* hotel, has some dated decor but you don't mind it as it fits with the hotel well. The views of the city from the 20th floor are brilliant too. The major let down was the staff. Front desk and housekeeping. We stayed for 2 nights, the housekeeping didn't change the bedsheets, or the complimentary water, tea a...
Room was exacly as i expected open area facilities were good will defonantly book this apartment again but there were couple of down sides aswell when booking i put down 2 adults was charged £10 a day for on site parking should of had 2 parking spaces was told 1 parking space when asked for another was told all other parkings are booked stayed for 2 nights there was pa...
No mini fridge, Dont have family rooms so we had to have a disability room and pay £15 extra per night, Which was not stated by booking rep, as we stated a room for 2 adults+1 child and wasn't informed there was a £15 extra added. you expect the price stated is the complete price. Far easier with kids to have a bath not a wet room which comes with a disability room T...
The hotel was so cleanice the staff were so friendly and everything was as it should be. The free breakfast choice was amazing as well. Already booked another stay but with the kids as well. The absolute best
Have stayed in this hotel a lot. Depending on offers and when you book Britannia and travelodge are generally the cheapest in Coventry. They upgraded me to a jaccussi room without being asked, as well as having a jaccussi, the jaccussi rooms are much bigger and makes the stay excellent value for around 30 pounds. Normal rooms are also fine for 30 pounds. They have a...
This is a good hotel. Distance from New Street station is fantastic but its a shame the surrounding area is so grubby and run down. The welcome and checking-in was warm and professional. The room was very good, a little cold though. No matter what I tried to do with the thermostat, nothing seemed to change this. I did mention it when leaving the hotel. I should...
Less than 3 minutes walk from the back of the Bullring. Reviews talking about the area being unsafe are unfounded - it's a town centre hotel, so of course it will be 'lively'. No uncomfortable moments while I stayed there. Rooms are incredibly comfy. The 'pull down' bed people talk about, is a REAL bed - it just happens to store on the wall if you need more space. It ...
We were looking for a cheaper option than the Hilton for a weekend event at the NEC and the Ibis was the perfect solution. A 5 minute walk to the convention center with disabled access to the exhibition halls. The hotel was about half the price of the Hilton (a 15 minute walk away). Breakfast was included and the staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms feature every...
Thumbs up! Had a enjoyed stay at Campanile Birmingham Hotel. It is only 5-10 minutes away from the city centre and it's best to drive there. Open spaced parking at the entrance is free. Staff were genuinely friendly. Furnishings were slightly old but very well maintained. Clean towels & linens were provided. Value for money!
My husband and I stayed at the Welcombe the weekend of our wedding. We stayed with our bridesmaids and groomsmen the night before, making the most of the spa and golf, and then on our wedding night. Despite not having the Welcombe as our actual wedding venue, the staff went out of their way to make the experience as amazing as possible. We are so grateful to everyone w...
probably one of the highest building in the city centre, great view of birmingham. near bullring for shopping and have loads of food and restaurant nearby. 5mins walk from birmingham new street station. kitchen in the room and there are oranges and milk in the fridge, there is a capsule coffee machine as well. Some books and board games can be found near the sofa where...
We had to ring the blue bell to get in after 2300hours but only had to wait seconds before the door was opened by a smiling male. We had been advised about this by reception. A nice clean room which was warm and quiet. Thanks. Would book here again.
Lovely hotel. Clean, modern, friendly staff, nice bar, good entertainment. Good launch pad into Birmingham, West Bromwich or Wolverhampton. Will definitely come again.
I booked the room in January and had confirmation that the twin beds requirement had been notes. On arrival I found that the hotel had not noticed this and we had been allocated a double bed room. We were two friends travelling so would prefer twin. After quite some time the hotel managed to accomodate the request. So a shaky start, but then everything else about our ...
We were visiting the Christmas market and wanted to find a hotel close enough to the station and the market itself to accommodate 4 people. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted and the check in process was handled efficiently (love the coffee machine in the reception area). The apartment was lovely, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate lounge/kitchen. The k...
I loved everything about this hotel. Location was spot on for seeing an event at the arena. Comfy bed, nice toiletries, slippers and dressing gown (tho I didn’t use). And a free cookie on check in :) Room was too big for me and it was costly. Top hotel in this location was to be expected tho. But they were the only negatives.
If I come to Birmingham again, this hotel is going to be the first one I will check for free rooms. I went there after studying the city map a bit, and because the price was reduced (around 80 EUR per night). I had a room with a king size bed (absolutely comfortable) on the 7th floor. This leads to my perhaps only point of criticism, namely I wasn't able to lower the ...
The hotel was very bright, clean and cheerful. The staff were all smartly dressed, friendly and efficient in their work. The restaurant, although we didn't eat there, looked clean and well presented. The bar was also very clean. The room was a lovely size, well decorated and very clean. There were the usual facilities in the room - tea and coffee, there was a flat ...
We stayed ree nights here to attend the wedding of my wife's niece. The hotel room is big and clean but a bit dated. The reception lounge was modern and nicely decorated with seating sofa and chairs. As hotel guests, we were charged about 9 pound per head for a good buffet breakfast by paying one day in advance, very good value. The city centre is within walking distan...
Visiting families in the Midlands, so chose the Southcrest Manor for its position and easy access to the greater Birmingham region. A great choice as it has very pleasant staff, who are always helpful and ready to deal with any request. The facilities were in good condition and the food was of a really high standard in the restaurant.
I was attending a weekend music convention at nearby Fillongley so the hotel was ideally situated. Reception staff were very efficient and helpful even though I arrived on Friday afternoon at a busy time for them. My room was large with a King size bed and a single (child's) bed. Often single travellers get stuck in a broom cupboard sized room but not this time, I had ...
I'm no fan of travellodge at all, but i needed a place close to the airport for an early start at late notice. This time I'm impressed - who'd have thought that travellodge can actually run good places - good staff, clean rooms and environment, etc? So I'm saying that unlike previous TL experienced over the years, this one was actually pretty good. Pros Clean, good se...
Staff extremely friendly and attentive, rooms were modern and clean, Pool was clean and relaxing. Minor hiccups- booking with agoda, be careful as they state it includes breakfast when it doesn't check your e-mail confirmation. This was rectified for us. The AA rosette restaurant over-cooked the steak, and under cooked the scallops however the customer service and oth...
Staff were really helpful when the booking agent had booked one kind of room and told me that they had booked another. Hotel clean, welcoming, breakfast good, very good location for the centre of Stratford without being at all noisy.
Despite the awful reviews I read I stayed at this hotel once before. My room this time comprised of a double bed, en suite bathroom with bath and overhead shower (soap and towels). Tea and coffee facilities in the room plus a T.V. I needed somewhere safe to stay for just one night and, as I had stayed here before, I had no hesitation in booking a room here again. I...
Cheap places to stay in West Midlands, England
I booked a twin/bunk room for 2 (just for me) as it was a cheaper option than all other room types around the area at the time. The building itself is a nice old building with large gardens. The bedroom was big and the bed comfortable with sufficient plug sockets and things that you may need for your stay. The hotel also had a restaurant and bar which was open reaso...
Stayed for one night in a dorm room. The shared facilities were clean and available. Food and drink were also available as Well as a self catering kitchen which I didn't use. It was a short 10 minute walk from Ilam to the Izaac Walton hotel where I had a meal and pudding and from here is a short 10 minute walk to the Stepping Stones in Dovedale. The hostel was slap b...
I stayed here for three nights and as my first ever hostel experience I was very happy. Secure facilities (lockers in rooms and several locked doors to get into room), adequate bedding (I shared a room with 11 others) and the best part which was the quirky, welcoming and immensely lovable common area with tons of books/dvds/games around and lots of character. It's in a...
After cycling 16 miles to get to this hostel, when I arrived I knew it was worth it straight away. The inside and outside of the building is truly stunning and full of character. Inside, I was greeted straight away by a lady on the front desk and she gave me all the information I needed to store my bike in the secure bike shed on site. After storing my bike and getting...
Comfortable bed , clean hotel and friendly lovely staff. Hotel in the ecntral ; every thing you ned is near.

Room was clean, toilet clean, no mould on the walls, room feel fresh Staff very helpful That all I expect from hotels
Great location, Asian food just walking distance around the hotel. Tidy and clean room. New street station is close to hotel.
Clean hotel a short walk from town and about ten minutes from the train station. Easy to get to if going by train. Great as there is a big Tesco supermarket across the road and many other shops. I would stay again.
Excellent friendly staff had a great laugh excellent value really enjoyed our stay

it is a good hotel near bridge and severn river, alot of time to enjoy the city of worcester.
Quick check in, very welcoming, clean and I personally would highly recommend this hotel, mainly because of the staff. The staff make this hotel, top chef, lovely lady serving amazing food and Andy deserves a pay rise. Kind regards Darren
ive stayed here before and loved the place, although it is plain and basic, its very clean and quiet, got restuarants all round and not too far from city centre but far enough to get away from the noise
The hotel and restaurant provided exactly what I needed. The location was ideal for me, there was food available when I arrived and diner was great value (carvery meal + pint = around £8). Was able to add breakfast to my stay when I checked in, good value hotel & restaurant.
My 12 year old daughter and I have stayed here twice now while she has competitions and even though it is very cheap I feel that it offers great value for money. It's not the Ritz but the beds and sheets are clean and the rooms are great. I would much rather pay £30-£40 to stay here than £60-£80 at the other more well known hotels in the area.
The hotel has plenty of character & travellers looking for the unusual won't be disappointed. Having a car park is an advantage & its easy to get around, & there's loads of cheap parking in town. We called into Wightwick Manor whilst in the area which is well worth the effort. Used the hotel as base for a concert trip to Birmingham & this worked extremely well, so w...
If you've read any bad reviews about this hotel, then the individuals who wrote it either have 5 star standards with a 2 star budget, or just like moaning about anything... Stayed here over the weekend with my partner, and had a very enjoyable stay. Staff were friendly and hotel was very clean. Even got a free room upgrade, which was definitely a bonus :) Bed was a tad...
The location is in the middle of the city.
We enjoyed our stay. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful the room was good although a little stuffy> The linen was clean We did feel breakfast was a little manic, difficult to find a table but overall good value and we would stay in your hotels again
Stayed for couple of nights for family wedding and was great place for large group of family/friends. Rooms were decent size and comfy. Slight concern that noise from motorway could be intrusive, but, triple glazing completely blocked it out. Breakfast was nothin special, but, perfectly adequate. Nice seating areas for people to gather. Overall, it was perfect for ...
We had a very comfortable and pleasant stay in this hotel. If you are looking for cheap and comfortable hotel, this hotel is excellent. Although it have small rooms but it still can give you a satisfaction stay. We would like to stay here again. We recommend it to everyone.
All good and better than expected for the price. Shame that phone reception was poor in the area and hotel wifi was a bit hit and miss
December is a frantically busy for all hotels offering festive party opportunities. This year, other diners were catered for much better than previously - well done on listening to my previous feedback. A dip in the lovely warm pool was very welcome after a busy day loading, driving, unoading anf setting up for a textile event on the Saturday. The chocolate sphere des...
We had to ring the blue bell to get in after 2300hours but only had to wait seconds before the door was opened by a smiling male. We had been advised about this by reception. A nice clean room which was warm and quiet. Thanks. Would book here again.
A GREAT PLEASURE TO STAY AT THIS HOTEL. THE STAFF WERE WONDERFUL. SO FRIENDLY AND HELPFULL. THE BREAKFAST HAS TO BE ONE OF THE BEST I HAVE HAD FOR A LONG TIME. HOTEL HAS GOOD RESTAURANTS SURROUNDING IT. TRY THE HOGGITT JUST UP THE ROAD AND THE GATE OF INDIA. BOTH GOOD EATERIES. WOULD DEFINATLY STAY AGAIN. THE SHOPPING IN BASINGSTOKE IS AMAZING.
4-star hotels in West Midlands, England
We had an executive room, which gave us access to the executive lounge. This was fabulous value as free drinks and canapés are served from 6-9pm. Rofuto restaurant was very impressive and breakfast the next morning was one of the best we've had at any hotel. It's a bit of a walk to Birmingham New Street, 15 mins or so, but an über taxi cost less than £3.50. I'd put the...
It ...
I decided to take my wife away for a couple of days and we decided on the Worcester Whitehouse. My wife is disabled so I asked the staff at time of booking to see if they could help with this. From the moment we arrived the staff were absolutely awesome. Courteous, kind, attentive and very friendly. When I booked I was a little concerned that the room rate was very ...
Booked last minute for long weekend in hotel . Rooms Ok but curtains/ carpet bit tired. A dog was allowed into bar area which as serving food in evening and at breakfast- bit unexpected with lots small children around and possibly due to pushy owners. main issue was that fire alarm sounded at 1.30 am on sunday- as we dressed to evacuate, the alarm stopped- what next?? ...
breakfast on the other hand was far more agreable, though the pastries were soggy or stale, and the first carafe of coffee was tepid at best - though they did replace it with a hot one within minutes. cooked breakfasts, bread, cereal, fruits and yoghurt were available. the hotel does have a little gym/fitness room & a pool, but is looking a little tired, but for whe...
I was on a business tour with family. The hotel is very conveniently located, and though has a large parking, initially I found it full, but thankfully there was paid parking close by. The room was brilliant, very spacious, and a comfortable bed. The staff were amazing and helpful and I forgot my very expensive headphones, and I called the hotel 2 days later and they...
We had a great 2 nights stay. The executive room that we book was surprisingly small and we had problems in putting all our luggages in the room. However, the staff was so helpful to give us an upgrade to a King Suite.. That was a really a very kind gesture and we were very grateful. The hotel is in great location in New Street. The New Street train station is jus...
Agreeable except for the lack of a bar of soap in the bathroom
Unhappy with booking almost a year and a half early not to get a room to meet my mobility needs. The hotel said that this was the fault of the booking agency as they had not passed on this request and they showed me proof of this. I shall be complaining to Agoda for such a mistake. The hotel and staff were great the breakfast was average at best. We would use this hote...
Stayed on Sat night so price was high (£176) hence 3 stars for value. Much cheaper during the week. Lovely old building, nice room, decor getting a bit tired, and bar areas not very plush. Had good meals on Saturday night and Sunday lunch - a small menu but lovely dishes. Nice looking pool and Spa but didn't use. Would go back
Staff were excellent, very efficient and welcoming. It's a great choice for early flights - breakfast starts earlier than in most places. The room was a good size and well sound-proofed - quite possible to work there during the day with planes landing yards away. The only flaw was the bathroom layout - a nice, modern unit with shower and washbasin, but the separate l...
Can't understand why there are negative reviews we found this hotel spot on in every way. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had an executive room which was spacious and very clean. The only slight negative was that we were expecting a king size bed as we had paid more for this room but this didn't spoil things and the bed was exceptionally comfortable...
Excellent service when we arrived there was a wedding going on so we were offered a cottage instead of the room as the wedding was quite noisy. The cottage was on the ground floor and was ideal and near the restaurant. Must add the staff were excellent and very friendly. The only problem was menu a bit limited if having a long stay but food was good.
Really enjoyed our stay and our visit to Stratford upon Avon. We were pleased to be given a room in the main building (144) and it had a huge bathroom but it was quite dark as it seemed to be in the middle of the building. We had dinner in the new Marco Pierre White restaurant which was very nice but overpriced especially the wine. All in all this is an old hotel whic...
This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in, it was extremely clean, the bedrooms were generously sized and the bathrooms were immaculate. The room was cleaned each morning with fresh towels and bedding, and the breakfasts were fantastic. All in all a great city break, brilliantly positioned in the centre of Brindley Place, meaning the city centre was walkable. ...
Luxury hotels in West Midlands, England
Absolutely perfect, facilities amazing, the shared lounge and beautifully equiped guest kitchen was a big bonus, and not one but two outdoor spas. Communal breakfast was delicious with plenty choice, enjoyed the company. Absolutely nothing to complain about here, wish we could have stayed a week instead of the night!!!,
This is a beautifully appointed property, the place really looks like the pictures. The Wi-fi is fast and it is located in a convenient location near a Sainsbury supermarket and the centre of Wolverhampton. They email you and text you the codes for the keyless doors to access the apartment on the day you are due to check in, this is mostly ok but it was a problem for u...
Amazing food, if you stay here you MUST eat in the restaurant. Both my wife and i agreed the food was superb. Lovely clean hotel too. Cannot fault it.
Great facilities, lounge and room Excellent dinner, service exceptional; a dessert wine trolley offering Sauternes would have been a perfect embellishment.
very well
It was a great stay, absolutely stunning location, over priced, bedrooms need updating, bed was very uncomfortable, staff where very friendly, free secure parking, which is a bonus
Adjacent to the Ludlow Food Centre & a short drive outside Ludlow. Large modern room / large bed / powerful shower. Friendly staff. Only downside is that breakfast is served in the tea rooms 100 metre walk from the rooms - not great if it's raining.
Please bear in mind that we did not stay at Coleman apartments and are not reviewing them per se. We were offered an upgrade to the nearby The Larches in Larches Lane. We found this very clean, quality accommodation. The room was a little small for us (about 20-22sq m) but it had a very comfortable bed, very nice clean and modern bathroom and cooking facilties. Now,...
