We had an executive room, which gave us access to the executive lounge. This was fabulous value as free drinks and canapés are served from 6-9pm. Rofuto restaurant was very impressive and breakfast the next morning was one of the best we've had at any hotel. It's a bit of a walk to Birmingham New Street, 15 mins or so, but an über taxi cost less than £3.50. I'd put the hotel at more of a 5 star than a 4. Much more luxurious than the other 4 star Birmingham hotels we've stayed in.

It was a last minute booking so had no choice , had to take what was available. Enjoyed the stay except considered it very expensive for the type of twin bed rooms we had. Very small single beds (on wheels) , furniture & fittings very dated, & hall & room had a stale smell. The Safe refused to work, no water or refrigerator in the rooms. At best a 3 star. Rooms were spotless . Breakfast excellent but long queues for breakfast & hot food. Reception staff & conseigue staff were excellent .

The hotel, facilities, location are all great. It's a good 4* hotel, has some dated decor but you don't mind it as it fits with the hotel well. The views of the city from the 20th floor are brilliant too. The major let down was the staff. Front desk and housekeeping. We stayed for 2 nights, the housekeeping didn't change the bedsheets, or the complimentary water, tea and glasses were not even touched, still there from when we used them the first night. When we saw this we didn't really mind, we phoned front desk about having this sorted, they informed us it will be done. On our way out to spend the day outside the hotel, we just gently reminded front desk again and we were reassured it would be sorted. We returned back to the hotel approximately 8 hours later, there was no change. We asked front desk again to have this sorted, which for is tea addicts was now becoming a problem!, again this time the front desk apologised and said it will be sorted, we went out for an evening meal. When we returned again- no change. When we put it a bit firmly to front desk this time, the problem was sorted in 2 minutes. It was a real let down as he enjoyed our stay at the hotel but having to tell staff 4/5 times to do a simple task was a big disappointment. I would recommend staying here, it's probably the best hotel in Birmingham, however, a bit of a let down by certain individual staff. There is room for parking for a charge of £9.30 for 24 hours, but it is small, there is a 24 hour pay and display literally 30 second walk from the hotel that charges £6 for 24 hours.

Room was exacly as i expected open area facilities were good will defonantly book this apartment again but there were couple of down sides aswell when booking i put down 2 adults was charged £10 a day for on site parking should of had 2 parking spaces was told 1 parking space when asked for another was told all other parkings are booked stayed for 2 nights there was parking spaces empty so i dont knoe why the recertionist told me that wasnt happy with that 2nd down side was requested high floor room was charged additional £10 which was taking the piss wasnt happy about that aswell room choice should be free on rooms got room on 1st floor and there was no tv in bedroom which i wasnt happy about aswell n freigh wasnt stocked up just bottle of water n package milk no snacks nothing else these things put the apartment down my other half wasnt happy about all this overall so thats why apartment gets 2 star for facilities parking should be 2 couplea good stay would recommened to a friend :)

No mini fridge, Dont have family rooms so we had to have a disability room and pay £15 extra per night, Which was not stated by booking rep, as we stated a room for 2 adults+1 child and wasn't informed there was a £15 extra added. you expect the price stated is the complete price. Far easier with kids to have a bath not a wet room which comes with a disability room The the wet room, water doesn't go down plug hole quick and you end up with a lake, and the hose is difficult to clip into holder so end up holding it. Hubby and I both had terrible back ache from the beds. Light on room clock is very bright no dimmer so had to unplug, £15 a night parking if using hotel car park but only £7 a night at selfridges (5min walk) pros- Good housekeeping/reception/room service. nice and near to city centre and 'think tank' museum.Good size tv and tea/coffee well stocked and free bottles of water. Good security in hotel In general a impressive hotel just some things need ironing out.

This is a good hotel. Distance from New Street station is fantastic but its a shame the surrounding area is so grubby and run down. The welcome and checking-in was warm and professional. The room was very good, a little cold though. No matter what I tried to do with the thermostat, nothing seemed to change this. I did mention it when leaving the hotel. I should have said it during my stay to be honest. One of the main reasons for booking this hotel, apart from location, was its gym. I was hoping it wold be a good one and one I would expect to be in a 4 star hotel. But it was awful and useless. 6 dumb bells, 2 running machines, 1 rowing machine. There were 4 people working out in the room and that was over crowded. If someone was using the dumb bells, you had no chance unless you wanted to be hit in the face by one. It was the worst gym I have ever seen in a 4 star hotel. I did speak to reception about this and they said it was going to be refurbished, no date was given. This was the only down side to it and dont want it to over shadow what is mainly a good hotel

Less than 3 minutes walk from the back of the Bullring. Reviews talking about the area being unsafe are unfounded - it's a town centre hotel, so of course it will be 'lively'. No uncomfortable moments while I stayed there. Rooms are incredibly comfy. The 'pull down' bed people talk about, is a REAL bed - it just happens to store on the wall if you need more space. It has a luxury foam mattress on top - best night's sleep I'd had in ages. Kitchen had everything you needed and the bathroom was clean and spacious. Fantastic to have an iron ready in the room. Can't wait to stay again.

My husband and I stayed at the Welcombe the weekend of our wedding. We stayed with our bridesmaids and groomsmen the night before, making the most of the spa and golf, and then on our wedding night. Despite not having the Welcombe as our actual wedding venue, the staff went out of their way to make the experience as amazing as possible. We are so grateful to everyone who made our stay just perfect, from the front of house manager who organised our rooms to the beautician who did my wedding makeup. The hotel was stunning, relaxed, unstuffy and beautiful. I would recommend it to everyone (but not all on our anniversary, we want to go back!)

probably one of the highest building in the city centre, great view of birmingham. near bullring for shopping and have loads of food and restaurant nearby. 5mins walk from birmingham new street station. kitchen in the room and there are oranges and milk in the fridge, there is a capsule coffee machine as well. Some books and board games can be found near the sofa where you can read or play with your friends and family which is really nice.

I booked the room in January and had confirmation that the twin beds requirement had been notes. On arrival I found that the hotel had not noticed this and we had been allocated a double bed room. We were two friends travelling so would prefer twin. After quite some time the hotel managed to accomodate the request. So a shaky start, but then everything else about our stay was great. The rooms are a good size, white company toilietries and nespresso coffee machine all add to the stay. The rooms have plenty of room for storage and surfaces to use whilst putting in makeup etc. We preferred this room to the Crowne Plaza. The drinks and tapas food in the Highline bar were excellent and we enjoyed the band in in World bar. The shops were good too we both bought a pair of Skechers. We will stay again.

We were visiting the Christmas market and wanted to find a hotel close enough to the station and the market itself to accommodate 4 people. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted and the check in process was handled efficiently (love the coffee machine in the reception area). The apartment was lovely, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate lounge/kitchen. The kitchen was well kitted so that you could prepare a meal if you wanted to, everything looked shiny and new. We particularly appreciated the welcome basket which included fresh milk and a range of teas, coffees, hot chocolate and cookies. We had a minor issue with the dishwasher but the manager in charge quickly came to fix it and it was working fine after that. Would stay again when we next visit Birmingham.

If I come to Birmingham again, this hotel is going to be the first one I will check for free rooms. I went there after studying the city map a bit, and because the price was reduced (around 80 EUR per night). I had a room with a king size bed (absolutely comfortable) on the 7th floor. This leads to my perhaps only point of criticism, namely I wasn't able to lower the temperature in the room to below something like 23-25 degrees, although I set the AC to 16 degrees. (Windows can't be opened.) A receptionist told me that it may have been due to the location under the roof, and the sun operating. Well, maybe; most of the time it was sunny indeed. I didn't use the spa facilities nor the breakfast (but I did use the Starbucks in the lobby and was satisfied). The location was perfect to me for two reasons: it's very close to the city centre, and to the New Street train station, which is 9 minutes of a train ride away from the Airport station, and 7 minutes from the University station (my conference was at the Edgbaston campus). Of great value for a conference-goer was the electric iron and the complimentary tea/coffee in the room. The hotel also had socket adapters that I could borrow (I forgot mine from the Continent), and separate USB charger sockets (perfect idea). I missed some shelf space a bit, but was able to use my suitcase as an ersatz set of shelves... Needed to re-log to the wi-fi all too often (that was a bit irritating). A supermarket is a few steps away, and there is a variety of restaurants to choose from, in the vicinity. The picturesque canal district is a few minutes away. All the staff were absolutely polite and helpful.

The hotel was very bright, clean and cheerful. The staff were all smartly dressed, friendly and efficient in their work. The restaurant, although we didn't eat there, looked clean and well presented. The bar was also very clean. The room was a lovely size, well decorated and very clean. There were the usual facilities in the room - tea and coffee, there was a flat screen tv with plenty of channels, there was also an iron and ironing board in the room. Our stay was very nice and I would recomend the Crown Plaza to everyone.

We stayed ree nights here to attend the wedding of my wife's niece. The hotel room is big and clean but a bit dated. The reception lounge was modern and nicely decorated with seating sofa and chairs. As hotel guests, we were charged about 9 pound per head for a good buffet breakfast by paying one day in advance, very good value. The city centre is within walking distance by walking eastwards, passing the Symphony Hall, the Library and the Town Hall. After twn hall, there are many shops and eating places. The hotel is situated in the partying area of the riverside. There are also many pubs and restaurants between the hotel and the canal.Hotel parking is expensive though at 14 pound for overnight up to 24 hours, but separate charges for different entries. So for the second day, we parked at the private carpark next to the hotel at 8 pound for 24 hours with multiple entries.

Staff extremely friendly and attentive, rooms were modern and clean, Pool was clean and relaxing. Minor hiccups- booking with agoda, be careful as they state it includes breakfast when it doesn't check your e-mail confirmation. This was rectified for us. The AA rosette restaurant over-cooked the steak, and under cooked the scallops however the customer service and other dishes were exquisite. Overall an extremely pleasurable stay, I would 100% recommend to go for couples or friends weekend away to relax and take time off a busy schedule. I will be returning!

I decided to take my wife away for a couple of days and we decided on the Worcester Whitehouse. My wife is disabled so I asked the staff at time of booking to see if they could help with this. From the moment we arrived the staff were absolutely awesome. Courteous, kind, attentive and very friendly. When I booked I was a little concerned that the room rate was very cheap - Would that be reflected in the quality of the room? Definitely not. We had been given a room which was absolutely perfect for us. The bathroom was huge with all the disability attachments needed, it was clean and the bedroom suite room was enormous. I was so impressed with the room and the facilities. I went roaming and checked out the bar which was roomy and spacious. The Gym and pool/sauna were amazing - Should have brought my speedos ;) We didn't originally book breakfast but decided to add it and boy were we glad we did. The buffet English was awesome and the continental ticked all the boxes for my wife.

Booked last minute for long weekend in hotel . Rooms Ok but curtains/ carpet bit tired. A dog was allowed into bar area which as serving food in evening and at breakfast- bit unexpected with lots small children around and possibly due to pushy owners. main issue was that fire alarm sounded at 1.30 am on sunday- as we dressed to evacuate, the alarm stopped- what next?? No one from management came to advise that it was a false alarm- a fellow resident went to desk to find out and then it passed along corridor- but that is not how we should be informed. Did advise receptionist in morning as we were checking out- but I doubt he passed the feedback to management Nice weekend- good pool and as weather was great, enjoyed the glorious gardens and grounds

breakfast on the other hand was far more agreable, though the pastries were soggy or stale, and the first carafe of coffee was tepid at best - though they did replace it with a hot one within minutes. cooked breakfasts, bread, cereal, fruits and yoghurt were available. the hotel does have a little gym/fitness room & a pool, but is looking a little tired, but for when you're away from home, it's more than good enough. there is wifi available but i think they charge for it, as they do for the car park. checkout was painless and efficient. it's a good mid range business hotel, i wouldn't stay there for leisure however. for distractions there is a bowling alley and a cinema across the road, as well as a frankie & benny's and a pizza hut if the hotel food doesn't inspire you

I was on a business tour with family. The hotel is very conveniently located, and though has a large parking, initially I found it full, but thankfully there was paid parking close by. The room was brilliant, very spacious, and a comfortable bed. The staff were amazing and helpful and I forgot my very expensive headphones, and I called the hotel 2 days later and they had kept them and returned them to me. A very special thanks to Ms Tracey at the hotel and also to Mike (I think) for making efforts to send them to me. I'd definitely come and visit again. The only downside was the English Breakfast... it could be better. Overall, excellent place.

We had a great 2 nights stay. The executive room that we book was surprisingly small and we had problems in putting all our luggages in the room. However, the staff was so helpful to give us an upgrade to a King Suite.. That was a really a very kind gesture and we were very grateful. The hotel is in great location in New Street. The New Street train station is just 1 min walk opposite the hotel. Shopping and food outlets are all nearby. The staff are all helpful and friendly.

Unhappy with booking almost a year and a half early not to get a room to meet my mobility needs. The hotel said that this was the fault of the booking agency as they had not passed on this request and they showed me proof of this. I shall be complaining to Agoda for such a mistake. The hotel and staff were great the breakfast was average at best. We would use this hotel in future.

Staff were excellent, very efficient and welcoming. It's a great choice for early flights - breakfast starts earlier than in most places. The room was a good size and well sound-proofed - quite possible to work there during the day with planes landing yards away. The only flaw was the bathroom layout - a nice, modern unit with shower and washbasin, but the separate loo was narrow and cramped. That's the only thing that might stop me re-booking.

Can't understand why there are negative reviews we found this hotel spot on in every way. The staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had an executive room which was spacious and very clean. The only slight negative was that we were expecting a king size bed as we had paid more for this room but this didn't spoil things and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Also didn't hear any road noise so had a great nights sleep. There's plenty of food choices and you can choose the lively part or quieter parts of the hotel to suit every age Location was great very central and the town itself was lovely. Never got chance to try the spa facilities unfortunately but had a nosey round and looked gorgeous.

Really enjoyed our stay and our visit to Stratford upon Avon. We were pleased to be given a room in the main building (144) and it had a huge bathroom but it was quite dark as it seemed to be in the middle of the building. We had dinner in the new Marco Pierre White restaurant which was very nice but overpriced especially the wine. All in all this is an old hotel which could do with some updating but this did not detract from enjoying our stay there very much.

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in, it was extremely clean, the bedrooms were generously sized and the bathrooms were immaculate. The room was cleaned each morning with fresh towels and bedding, and the breakfasts were fantastic. All in all a great city break, brilliantly positioned in the centre of Brindley Place, meaning the city centre was walkable. No noise from Broad Street and centred in the modern district besides the best restaurants and bars in Birmingham. You do have to pay for parking additionally though. However, I shall definitely be staying in these hotels around the country again.
