Comfortable hotel with excellent breakfast. Many of the furnishings and decoration were from the early 20th century, giving the hotel a very different feel from clinically clean in appearance but soulless modern hotels. For lovers of organic food, almost all of the breakfast buffet was organic, with a variety of breads, cakes, pastries, hot and cold drinks, cereals and cooked breakfast. A couple of minor criticisms: there is no kettle in the bedroom and only a small filled minibar fridge, which are unhelpful if you like to have a bedtime/morning drink in your room or you want to prepare the night before for a picnic lunch.

Located near the waterfront, across the road to the cruise terminal and a 2 minute walk to the ferry terminal to Cinque Terra, and about a 20 minute easy walk to the station. We were on the top floor (8th) so the view of the harbour was great. Room was clean and the bed very comfortable. It also had a bath so it was a real bonus to have that luxury after big days walking around! Breakfast was plentiful and a good variety although the eating area is quite noisy (lots of tour groups while we were there.) Barbara on reception was fabulous, very helpful: she phoned our car hire place for us when we were delayed, when we told her we were going to CT, she advised she thought the ferry wasn't running, and she phoned them to check and she provided information about local attractions. A real asset to the hotel.

The hotel location is within walking distance to Genova Piazza Principe. A lot of restaurants and shops nearby. There are a lot of taxis near the station which is convenient because there is no Uber in Genoa. The staff in the reception is nice and patiently answered all of our questions. There is a slight problem with our room, which is you can hear something like water running through pipe, but it is bearable.

We recently booked this trip. My boyfriend proposed whilst we were staying here and the hotel lived up to expectations. As we arrived they take your keys off you to park your car then luggage is delivered to your room. The hotel is modern and very stylish. We used the spa facilities which aren’t massively advertised but should be WOW! They were amazing we used the pool and the relaxation room feeling very chilled. On a morning, the breakfast was phenomenal there was so much to choose on and again the staff were so accommodating at all times. Whenever you needed the car a member of staff would have it at the front waiting for you. Overall I had the most amazing stay!

My husband and I are well travelled. We booked five rooms for our four children and their families and ourselves. It was a massive exercise for a week before the Tuscany wedding of our youngest. I have never had such supportive and efficient concierge help even in 6 star hotels we have stayed at. They were magnificent. The ambience was superb and we really hope we will come back.

We stayed at NH Hotel Genova Marina as a last-minute booking en route to Tuscany. When we arrived the room had been upgraded as there were no executive doubles left. We were not charged for our child - as it was just for a night she slept in the enormous bed with us, and breakfast was included for all three in our booking price. Breakfast was great - a wide selection of food and drinks in a beautifully designed restaurant with terrace. The location is amazing - right by the Aquarium (we could see the Dolphins with their keeper from our table at breakfast, and from our room!) and with a galleon ship moored right outside. For us weary travellers with a five-year-old in tow, it was a real bonus to have things to do whilst we re-charged for the next leg of our journey. Genova has a frenetic energy, full of quirky sights and people. Porto Antico, where the hotel is, has a good mix of sophistication and old-world vibe with a child-friendly and relaxed sensibility. We were lucky to find it and will choose it again. From us it comes highly recommended.

The hotel room was nice and clean. I was placed in a twin bed room, I would've preferred a double bed. The location of the hotel is very convenient, opposite Brignole station and the Airport shuttle bus stop which departs every 45 minutes. I found the staff to be friendly enough. A couple of blocks away you can walk to some nice bars and restaurant. There's also a late one opposite the hotel. The only one small thing I would mention is for a four star hotel they could afford give guests a kettle and small selection of complimentary teas and coffees in rooms.

We booked this hotel for second time this year and I would say we are quite satisfied. The location of the hotel is not the best as it is not in city center but it takes 5 minutes by car to reach the port where you can eat and walk. Also there is a commercial center next to hotel where you can find food. There are public and private beaches very close to the hotel but if you prefer to go Bergeggi or Spotorno beaches, they are about 10 minutes drive. In fact we chose this hotel not to pay double price at the hotels around Spotorno where we reserved the beach. The staff were very polite and tried to do their best. The facility is modern and has spacious rooms. The only "relatively negative points were: - the queue during breakfast (on saturday 5th we had to wait about 20 minutes in the queue before our turn comes to collect our breakfast). The hotel should put more people to reduce the waiting time especially during crowded hours. - the AC that cannot be adjusted in the room.

King bed, aircon and gym and I'm a happy chappy. Far from Central but it was just a stopover for us. Plenty of parking and nice and quiet. Hotels in Italy seem to control the air conditioning from reception and turn it off between 1am - 7am. Before you check-in mention that they should keep it on overnight as it's very hot in summer...enough for the heat to wake you up. Or find a hotel with self-regulating aircon.

The hotel is located right next to the cruise terminal, close to the old Savona's port. It is part of a modern, steel and glass building complex, in stark contrast with the surrounding facades. It is classified as a 4 stars hotel and, a part for a couple of minor touches (bit of "dirty" walls in the room, a toilet paper holder set upside-down), they are well deserved. The personnel at the reception desk are friendly and efficient. The breakfast buffet is nice and offers a full range of options. Free wi-fi is provide in any room. The room we have been staying in was spacious enough, although it did not offer a nice view (on the building across the street). The bathroom was clean, with a wonderful shower box. The only "mysterious" and somewhat funny hotel's policy is that used soap bars are removed by the cleaning staff and not refurbished. The soap bars only, whereas every other kind of toiletries are dutifully replaced every morning. The reason of this we could not figure out.... We had an overall nice experience and we'd surely recommend the NH Darsena for a staying in Savona.

La posizione dell'hotel, a poche centinaia di metri dalle spiagge, immerso in un giardino rigoglioso e con una bella piscina garantisce tranquillità a due passi dal mare e dal centro cittadino raggiungibile facilmente a piedi in cinque minuti o con la navetta dell'hotel. A very smart hotel located five minutes walk to the sea and City Center. Clean. Good food, with choice of fish every day, Fantastic employees who do their best to help guest enjoy the holiday. Since I discovered it I go to hotel Paco every year.

my husband and i (newly married) went to portofino for an unplanned and impromptu honeymoon. we had not booked ahead and i found eight hotel on my ipad at the agoda site while we drove to the coast. based on some pretty good reviews we chose to stay at the eight hotel and wow! we could not have made a better choice! as soon as the staff saw our copious luggage (wedding gifts) they very kindly upgraded us to a larger junior suite without my even having to ask. brilliant service from all the staff we encountered. the hotel is set back into the hills on the periphery of portofino so it does not have a clear view out to the sea but it does not matter. the little cove is just a short walk away through a pretty coastline village dotted with numerous places to eat and shop. what a find in portofino!

Very good value, clean, good location. Walking distance to Cruise Terminal (10 mis). Our rate did not include breakfast, but for a 6.50 Euro it can be purchased. We had "American Coffee" and it was wonderful, the best I have ever had, and the rest of the breakfast was good too. It is also walking distance (5 mins) to the Genoa Central Railway Station. The taxi from the Airport cost 28 Euro.

Stayed for two nights, room and bathroom clean, bed very comfortable. Only real concern was our large window the glass panes was was painted over white so could not see out or receive very little light. Could open the window which looked out onto a alleyway but for safety reasons would not leave open. As with many accommodation’s in old cities was hard to find. Picture of reception, entrance to accommodation behind restaurant with entrance a large locked metal door, hallways large and high ceilings, additional gates to get too room. Might be intimidating for singles and others. Personally never felt unsafe at any time.

The stay in the hotel is so comfy and enjoyable. The hotel consists of 5 rooms only, on the day we arrived there were 2 rooms available, the owner showed us both and let us chose, i think the decoration and design for each room is different, but those 2 we've seen are also nice. Strong wifi and satellite tv are provided.Train station can be reached within 5mins walk. A little breakfast corner is offered in the house, breads and coffee machines are provided every morning. Just the check-in is a bit complicated, we had to call and waited for the owner to come when we arrived as there is a note on the door with indication. But overall is a very pleasant stay.
