Florida State hotels & places to stay

The hotel itself and it's services are excellent although the rooms are small, particularly for families of 5 & 6, and outdated. It's conveniently located just off international drive and close to all the parks. The only other negative is the cost for parking which I didn't have to pay at another resort a week earlier and haven't paid before when staying in Florida. The fact you also have to pay to play tennis or basketball is ridiculous. In fact almost everything in the hotel was expensive whether it was eating or drinking. Surely the significant resort fee payable each night should cover amenities such as tennis or basketball without incurring additional charges.

Hotel is nice, is clean and fragrant. Stayed in a "Captivating" Room, 2 queen beds. Room is nice and spacious. Is clean. The Aveda products are awesome. Some cons, my room was facing the parking lot but not a deal breaker. The water in the showers was weak and there wasn't a lot of hot water. Maybe it was a Florida thing because its always hot and you end up taking a cold shower anyways but I thought that was weird. Other than that, loved the hotel. Location is walking distance from Disney Springs (5mins). Some nearby restaurants (McD's, Uno Pizza) but it is a good 10-15min walk. Would I rebook at this hotel? Def. yes

After reading some reviews on this hotel, we expected the worst. We were pleasantly surprised because our experience was nothing compared to some of the other reviews. Check in was with Amanda and she was awesome! ALL hotel personnel we came in contact with were professional and friendly. It's an older hotel with some dated issues but our room was very clean! Our tv and phone didn't work at first but a quick trip to the front desk and both were fixed. Our room (820) was an oceanview as well as street/city view and the views were perfect. People have reviewed about the slow elevators. In my opinion, they worked no differently than any other elevator I've ever been in. The trick is not to wait on the elevator that's going your direction. We never had to wait more than a min or so. The pool and beach access were great! Housekeeping needs better training because our trash and dirty towels were picked up only once in 4 days. Other than that, we were very happy with our stay!

We just love this hotel , they have two big pools that's why we come here we don't go anywhere except to go out to eat. Best part the pools are heated, my favorite part. Employees seems very nice, only one thing is I would suggest to hotel management, they need to make sure the housekeepers speak English. We don't change our bed sheets everyday at home. I wanted to tell the housekeeper she can make beds, only they didn't need to put new sheets on. Save there time, water, electric, etc. Also we could use our bath towels twice. When she came by the first day , I started to tell her about beds and before I could get started all she kept saying was NO SPEAK ENGLISH. Well we just let her do whatever needed to be done to our room. We care about our earth and it helps the hotel save money. Other than that we love this place. Now we wait for good deals to book here a few more times for summer. I would recommend this hotels to family and friends and we do..

They don’t tell you they charge a deposit on booking app.They just said they charge resort fee. Witch I paid then they wanted another 100$ on top witch if so they need to state that in booking. They tried to get me to go across street and put on some net spend card . What’s up with that .I tired to give them cash that wasn’t good enough ! Anyhow I think that was a scam . Cash should be good enough . But it was resolved like they said they do me a favor. But other then that it was ok . They said it was 87.00 resort fee I did half to pay 99.00 so be aware of what your being charged for . They beds were nice housekeeping was good . The tubs were slick I was afraid I fall so watch your step. Pool could been cleaner . The life guards also do not put warning flags up be aware lots of creatures out their their was a shark spotted on news right in front of resort never seen purple flag right in front of resort and we got stung buy jellyfish and still no flags to warm people.so was not impressed with the life guards down here keep and eye out yourself. But otherwise had good trip .🤷🏽‍♀️

1) benefit is it's a brief 3 block walk over to Fontainebleau lobby bar which is a great spot for nightlife. 2) rooms are fine - 4 star - clean - no complaints 3) the sauna hasn't working 3 years. The steam room works if you put your towel over your head and stand over the steam... it's definitely not tranquil but if you need to detox / sweat out alcohol / toxins - it serves its purpose. It's free to use while if you stay at Eden Roc or Fontainebleau - their spa will cost you around USD50.00. At Miami Beach Resort & Spa - their nonworking sauna and old steam room is free. 4) Lobby is nice. 5) staff have always been pleasant. 6) you're right on the beach and you're in a nice area of South Beach. Walgreens is about 10 minute walk away and so is Subway. Overall I guess I'd stay here again if Eden Roc and Fontainebleau prices are too high than what I want to pay for. Hotel Victor is another option with a sauna - much nicer place but in busy South Beach by Clevelander Bar.

This is by far the best resort, in the greater Orlando area, that I have stayed in. The staff went above and beyond their duties to accommodate my daughter and I. The area was clean, all the staff was professional, and they had plenty of activities for children and adults alike. We have stayed in the amusement park resorts, but this was a better experience than those resorts. The pool area alone had a lazy river, water slides, wave pool, jacuzzi, family pool and adult pool. You really never need to leave the resort area to have a good time.

We have stayed many places in Orlando, but as this hotel was being built, we saw its progress as we visited and upon completion, we decided to try it. SOLD! The staff sold us. While we were blown away by its beauty and amenities, the genuine kindness and relaxed of nature of the hotel makes it our 'second home'. From Michael in Security, to the wonderful gentleman in the Marketplace (whose name I don't want to butcher), but has been here since the hotel opened and remembers us each year, to Allison who left the day prior to our last trip (we miss you!!!), THEY are the difference. Anywhere is beautiful externally, but beautiful with true heart that cares for people, even if the people are less than pleasant, is a nearly non-existent concept these days. We've even stayed 3 times during Covid, not a worry about it and we live 1500 miles away! Thank you Hilton Orlando...maybe see if Allison will come back??? Your staff is your ultimate selling point, please don't ever forget that!

Very nice accommodations in a location where a car is not needed. We took Uber to a couple of destinations while at BilMar, for a week, but most everything we wanted to do was within walking distance from BilMar. Beaches, bars & restaurants, grocery stores....all within a few minutes or less-walking time. Bikes are available to reserve, too. The pool was clean, as were the rooms and the staff really aimed to please! I would come back again-next time in the St. Petersburg/Treasure Island area of Florida.

This was our second time staying at this hotel. It was very clean, no smells, etc. I requested the first floor when a reservation was made, and they put on on the 7th floor. This was not a problem until we returned from being out that evening to find the elevator out of order. My boyfriend has fibrotic lung disease and he is the reason why I asked for the first floor. So I went to the office to complain and perhaps get a different room, some compensation, etc. and all I got was "we're packed, try again tomorrow. You're staying for a few more days, right?" Seriously? Morning comes, elevator still is not fixed and now we're faced with having to leave and descend the stairs, and some random guy waves us down and tells us about the maintenance elevator. A random guy. So you know what? We took it. Apparently, other people were hip to this as well, because it was stopping at every floor on the way down. WHY the front desk didn't tell us about this option the evening before is unknown.

We arrived for a two night stop over before our flight back to the UK. The hotel is set right on the beach and in the beautiful Art Deco area of Miami Beach. The hotel and staff were great and I really enjoyed my stay but unfortunately there was construction work going on in the neighbouring hotel to the right which had constant dust and noise of industrial sawing and drilling all day long - it would have been nice if the hotel could have advised guests prior to their visit that there was ongoing building work next door - it was difficult to relax and unwind in this noisy environment . To add to this, the hotel on the other side appeared to be a party hotel with very loud thumping music coming from the gardens (too loud at times) , so this did slightly ruin our stay. Nevertheless, I could not fault the beautiful National Hotel or its staff who were very good ! I would also recommend eating in Tamara’s Restaurant within the National Hotel - we had lunch and an evening meal.

When we checked in at night, the front desk informed my the room that was ready is a AED room, which is for handicapped and the only difference was the height and size of the sink. Otherwise there's a charge of $20/day for a higher floor. So I chose to accept the room. To my surprise, when I entered the bathroom the shower area had no tub and with young children that's not suitable. If she had informed me prior to check in that there's no tub, I would not hv accepted the room. It was a hassle to move from one room to another esp when we spent all day at the park. We were all tired. I just didn't understand how the room I booked and paid for was not ready and available. Otherwise the hotel and amenities were wonderful.

While the rooms seem recently refreshed the state of the facilities beg to question the age of the building and whether a renovation rather than refresh is necessary. During our stay we had the entire buildings phone systems go offline, the buildings water get shut off, and a shower that refused to drain. The night manager, 3rd shift front desk agent, and every other employee of the hotel we interacted with, however provided absolutely stellar service. I have already booked my return trip.

Great experience. Wanted a hotel that was kid friendly, economic and included breakfast. The staff were beyond amazing and accommodated me when asking for a room with bathtub for my two year old. Housekeeping was very friendly. The kitchen staff was also very friendly and offered many accommodations when dining with my two year old. The hotel is located right across from the Miami executive airport and there are a few shopping centers surrounded. Nothing in walking distance in my opinion. Overall positive experience and would stay again.

We had a one day reservation and then at a later date made a 2 day reservation with Kayak extending our stay to 3 days. When we arrived early and I explained to Sharon that my wife had booked the first night for my birthday. Later we were able to get off work for the next 2 days and we extended our stay with Kayak. I asked if we could just get a parking pass. She said sure and that she could not only check us in now for the same room for 3 days and she was going to upgrade us to a villa for my birthday! We really appreciated it! We stay there often and we think it’s the best value and location at Cocoa Beach. Thanks Sharon!

The bed was so comfy I could have stayed there forever. I was there for the night and just wanted to relax and sleep. Unfortunately, Lil Jon was at the bar next to the hotel and everybody else was there to party. It was super annoying to be up until 3:30 am listening to my neighbors listening to music, talk loudly and have relations. That had nothing to do with the hotel, though, which I recognize. The room was awesome. The bed was amazing. I had late check out at 1 pm which was super helpful because I needed to nap after my neighbors wild night. Great service and super accomodating.

When booking this hotel I only looked at its facilities and decor, both exceeded my expectations, and failed to check everything else. Place is made of 4 towers, joined by air conditioning tunnels. There are 12 restaurants to choose from so I am sure everyone will find something they like. Do prepare yourself with extra $$$ because price tags are high and each time you order something you will have tax and 18% service charge automatically added to your bill. So if you and your spouse end up going for american buffet breakfast which is 34$ pp your bill will come up to almost 90$. Also if you decide to lounge on the beach, like us, prepare yourself for additional charges for umbrella $25+tax a day. I am unsure whether these charges apply to seats by pools. Oh they also offer double beds with cover for $125+tax. If you ended up ordering anything on the beach prepare to wait around 30-40mins for your order to arrive. Guess it would be easier and quicker to just go to the bar yourself.

This is a great hotel, wonderful piece of Florida history. The hotel needs to figure out the elevator system.. We were there during as they were transitioning to a new system...seriously need to figure that out; it was inconvenient & frustrating. Certain members of the staff are off the charts great while others were not so much at all. Really great part of St. Pete Beach, would go back again.

Very clean property! The staff seemed to be cleaning and attending to tasks 24/7. Bright, pretty beach decor, comfortable beds. Very decent free continental breakfast buffet with a variety of good quality items. Pancake making machine was a real hit with hubby. Fresh fruit. (Biscuits need improvement, under baked, doughy. ) FREE cocktails/wine/beer during happy hour served with bar snacks, popcorn was fabulous and perfectly timed before heading out to dinner/entertainments. Nice, upscale family atmosphere. Unusual in my experience to find the staff was locals, super friendly and hard working! But best of all was the beach, too beautiful for words. Clean, no seaweed or smell from drain run off. Enjoyed the pool and view, had plenty of chairs, but could use twice as many umbrellas.

Attended for a family reunion. This hotel had been chosen by my cousins, and was restful. The landscaping and vast lobby area floral displays, decor and seating areas were lovely. Room was clean and comfortable, though mattress a little to soft for me personally. Horrified by the mandatory 18% service charge in the restaurant we had breakfast in. I despise the American habit of paying an hourly rate lower that their state or federal minimum, and expectation that servers wages be made up through tips, that are declarable on tax returns. As a British customer who has lived in the US for nearly 20 years, I still only tip 10% as a base, as it's not my responsibility to make up server's wages, especially when it's only plate service. I did express my disgust in this on checkout and to the restaurant duty manager. My cousins told me this was the most expensive trip they've ever had when visiting Florida. Partly due to the lower exchange rate, but mainly due to significant price hikes.

From the easy pleasant check in to beautifully decorated comfy room with Starbucks coffee and digital easy to use wall thermostat this was a great stay. Loved the hot breakfast included and was able to leave car in parking lot next day (after check out) to ride the Red Train Tour which was conveniently next door. Only draw back was.... twice during the night a train woke me up.... then again, where in Florida are there not train noise during the night. Staff was helpful and courteous. Will stay again.....for sure!
