East Midlands, England hotels & accommodations
I was very impressed with this hotel. It compared favourably with other hotels generally seen as best for the business traveller. It was nice to be able to eat in a peaceful atmosphere and the food was excellent. Breakfast was first class. It's now on my list of best overnight places to stay when I am in Nottingham.
Decided to book a night out and looked online this hotel came up at a great price so thought we would try it. When we arrived the staff were very friendly and booked us straight in , The room was basic but had everything we needed and was very clean . We booked in for our evening meal and the service was great the staff although had a late Christmas dinner party of 45...
We booked here because of the reviews & although we were sceptical we were pleasantly surprised with the place. Warm, tidy & quiet is what we got. Despite the carpark being rammed the whole time we hardly heard a thing. Had a good old chuckle at how soft our twin beds were but we slept wonderfully anyway. Location, price, and ease of access were all on point. We will d...
The Campanile Northampton has become a regular place to stay for my partner and I. We’ve got to know some of the staff due to our regularity and they are excellent, always welcoming, friendly, helpful and accommodating. They really are an excellent team. The Campanile is a fine place to stay. The hotel is always well-presented and does it’s very best to provide guests...
Been to this hotel several times before and our usual only consideration is at times finding a good price. At £129 with no breakfast it was slightly more then I'd hoped but it's clean and we've been happy with past stays so it's prime location near the nightlife always takes us back. For those needing breakfast but find the price a little scary there is a good withersp...
The hotel was very acceptable. There is a restaurant on level 2 which is a bit hidden, but for 5 pounds had an excellent buffet. The rooms were clean and tidy, but internet beyond second floor is non-existent. You get a signal, but not strong enough to connect. For that you need to be in the (slightly chilly) lobby. Our television did not work, but it did not bother ...
A super stay with very comfortable beds, crispy bedlinen and soft pillows and duvets. Newly decorated room, with very plush carpet and a modern feel. Excellent choice and quality of breakfast, with extras offered for a variety of cooked options. Staff really helpful and accommodating. Spa area a little tired in places but a lovely pool and changing rooms. Disappointed ...
I booked the DeVere Orchard Hotel for the autumn University of Nottingham Open Days, unfortunately for the wrong weekend. When I tried to amend the booking on Agoda’s website, it wouldn’t let me, so I rang the hotel who tried to help. However, because the booking was through Agoda, the change would have to be done through them. I rang Agoda and although promised the...
I was staying at the St. James Hotel as a solo traveller due to a course I was attending in Nottingham. When I arrived I was really impressed on the decor of the hotel and the staff were very welcoming. I was in an executive suite and it was spotless and very comfortable. This suite could definitely accomodate 2 people comfortably. On-suite with a shower but no bath, w...
We chose the hotel due to attending a wedding nearby, it was the best of an average bunch. However, the condition inside was very good, clean and tidy, the room was presented well (despite having the smallest TV known to man) but it was the staff who made the experience what it was. They were extremely courteous from our arrival to check out, namely Carol on reception....
I'm not pleased with this hotel. Firstly i was thinking that it is under Hilton, hence it should be better in all ways. I was wrong. The first thing is parking. There is open car park available out the hotel which has approximately 8 - 10 lots. It cost 15 pound per day on the parking, i arrived on midnight and going to leave 7 hours later, they still charge on the 15 p...
We couldn't fault the Hart's hotel and restaurant. The bed was so comfortable and the bedding amazing. The staff were friendly and obliging. The hotel was spotless, the rooms were tastefully decorated. There was a well stocked mini bar and the complimentary tea and coffee was of a superb standard, caffatier with delicious coffee and a selection of teas, with real milk ...
Ibis Hotel Northampton is conveniently located near the railway station, and a short walk away from the city center where there is plenty of shopping. The room was a clean, spacious enough, and comfortable, but was a little dark. There was a heater in the room. However, it would have been better if there were a fridge! Some of the staff could have been more friendly.
This hotel was a fantastic find. Great value for 2 nights including breakfast. I can't believe how quiet it was. Hardly any noise at all from outside or inside the hotel. Very pleasantly surprised. There was nothing going on at the footy stadium, or that would have been a different story I'm sure. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They booked us a taxi into...
Friendly helpful staff, modern hotel with large reception/bar area ... breakfast was lovely and they cook particular requests. Rooms lovely and clean, perfect size for a night away neither small nor huge with all needed facilities - hairdryer, ironing board, tea coffee etc ... large and plentiful pillows and towels. Best thing is the hotels location ... we ate at res...
The hotel staff are welcoming and friendly,The hotel from the front and surrounding area is clean and tidy. The bar area is very nice, relaxing and reasonably priced for drinksThe bar staff are excellent ,However tHe outside area to the bar was full of empty plates on some tablesThe actual carpets to our room looked tired with flecks of paint on .The room looked a littl...
Okay. Bathroom and plumbing needs sorting out. Shower had no power and was impossible to control the temperature. The water didn't drain well from the shower or the sink. The air conditioning was so noisy that it couldn't be left on at night even though the weather was very humid. On the breakfast buffet there is a disgusting looking vat of fat in which they cook the...
The hotel is grand and has the creeks and decor which fits a building built in the 1800's. The spa was fine however do not expect a Total Fitness. The spa was fine but flattered by the brochure. The brekfast was one of the best I have had in a hotel in England if not the best. The staff are friendly and the room was large, with a big telivision. Already lo...
This is a fairly new hotel in Lincoln, situated on Brayford Marina and it is a credit to the Doubletree brand. We had a king size room, and everything about the stay was luxurious, particularly when you consider this hotel is away from the bigger cities. Carpets when you walk the hallway are thick and lush, beds are comfortable with lovely mattress toppers and qualit...
Stayed 10 nights here whilst visiting family. Room was a good standard, and overall service was very good. Breakfast buffet was excellent and staff were happy to provide vegetarian and dairy free options on request. The hotel provided everything we needed for an enjoyable stay, and convenient to town. Bar restaurant prices in tthe high side, although food was to a goo...
Came to visit Nottingham for 1 day hence I decided to book this hotel, It's about 10 minute walk to the train station, very easy to find and easy to walk to. Tesco Express is just downstairs. Plenty of nice cafe just down the road and the city centre is just a 5 minute walk away. There's also a tram and bus station just downstairs. Best part is that you can call for a ...
This was my first stay at the ibis in Wellingborough. I found the hotel easily with the directions i got from the web site. The hotel presents itself well with a smart appearance and ample car parking. It has a pub-restaraunt across the road and if you have kids there is a McDonalds next door. The reception was staffed by two smiling ladies and the check in process wa...
I have been there with my 2 Kids for 9 days. We ordered the room for 3 persons and when we check in they were really "surprised" that I arrived with two Kids. We got a Family room but this was a small one. We were not able to unpack our entire luggage. We also had problems with the door lock. As we told it to the woman at the front desk on first day the answer was “i...
Good B&B as there was no meals available. No air con and mattress was value product. The room we had also was as very small. The plus points is that hotel is not too far from nearest town (5 miles away). A good base to work from. Clean & tidy and good cooked breakfast. Staff also very good. For price and value- 5 Stars. Couple staying 2 nights 27th/28th June 2015....
Just came for a night getaway with my young son. Room was clean and modern and had everything we needed in there. However, the tv wasn't in the best position or if that's the only position for it then it could be made slightly bigger. Staff were amazing with my son. Even assisted us at 2am when he had an accident in bed. Bowling was abit dear and kept having technical ...
We booked this at the last minute as a journey break. The hotel is a bit off the beaten track but once there we found a delightful setting with a very impressive stately hall. The room and the building are generally a bit tired but still impressive. Clean, cosy and quaint I would say, didn't have enough time to do it justice but will be back again at some point.
I had a one overnight stay. Overall it was a good experience. The staff were generally helpful and accommodating. Two observations: I rang down to book early dinner, informed restaurant was full. Met friends and had just ordered bar food in the foyer to be informed that places were available in the restaurant. I had paid for dinner bed and breakfast. Following morni...
I stayed here with my mum and daughter the evening before her graduation at Derby arena, which was only a 10 minute drive away. My daughter stayed in the main building, which is a lovely Georgian building, however my mum and I stayed in the cottage (annex building). This was very basic with no wardrobe to hang out clothes, the kettle was missing and also teaspoons. We ...
The hotel was in most respects excellent - the room was spacious, clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful. I feel that the hotel is a little "tired" however, the bathroom could do with updating and some of the furniture in the lobby was showing signs of wear.
Lovely new looking, very clean and tidy presented hotel. Quite near to centre of town which only cost £4 in an Uber taxi. It’s a shame that the coffee bar/cafe wasn’t even unpacked and set up but the hotel was cheap, and really nice. Would book again.
Cheap places to stay in East Midlands, England
Good place to stay for a night. Clean and regular hostel comforts
Great hostel. Good kitchen facilities and lounge. No washing machine and no laundromat in town was the only downside.
Excellent place to stay with equally excellent staff (Molly (Mollie?), at Reception was particularly helpful, well-mannered, polite and cheerful!!!), and I would have no hesitation in staying there again. King regards, Bernard Cullen, Hampton Court.
I can just walk from the coach station to the hotel. The room is not sound proof though, and shares the same floor with hostel / group rooms. It means you will hear people going in and out of the room all the time. Very noisy indeed esp the first night . The good thing is that it has laundry service for only five pounds.
I will definitly come back and recommend this place again. Friendly and helpful staff
Excellent Hotel 2 stay I strongly recommend the Ibis Hotel Chesterfield for the very helpful Staff, great food, and a very clean and comfortable place 2 stay
Was good value for money, staff very helpful, mattress not the best and bed was extremely nosey so moved mattress to the floor. But all in all not going to complain for the price.
went for a long weekend, we had a lovely time, woodthorpe lodge was in a great location for the beach, shops and restaurants, and pubs, but also not to close for all the hustle and bustle of the crowds,
Everything is clean and nice. Very good shared bathroom and kitchen with all needed equipment including basic food and supplies for breakfast. Recommended.
As I said it's not my type of place to be but I had to be there for certain reasons, if it's your choice of location then the hotel is close to the beach and right at the end of the promenade, so you can have a nice walk along the beach and close to all the tacky amusement stuff. The landlady was very chirpy & friendly, the breakfast was nice, the single room I staye...
The Days Inn Donnington Hotel is a pleasant hotel to stay for a nigt, and has everything to make the most bussines traveler happy. Close to the cities of Notthingham and Derby secures good nightlife. This hotel is also close to the East Midlands airport and Donnington Park racetrack.

Really nice hotel on the M1, great location to break the journey between the north-east and south-east of England.
The staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. The room was small but everything was there for just an overnight stay. Clean, comfortable and well stocked. The hotel was extremely quiet even though it was fully booked. The cooked breakfast was really good very tasty with large portions. Would stay there again.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
Extremely welcoming, all the staff seemed very happy in their jobs, a family run business and the staff also really seemed to care that it was a successful business. reception had the best customer service I have ever seen, a real credit to the place. They also upgraded me free of charge to an en-suit because they were quiet and beautifully decorated for Christmas.
Disappointing. Felt that single travellers are not welcomed. Table allocated was very isolated. Felt owner avoided conversation with me. Why?
Hotel 8 suited our needs perfectly. Check in was easy and the receptionist very helpful. It is located cl
Close to the railway station and a very friendly reception. Wonderful room. Warm and well appointed. A cosy bar and very helpful staff. Everything you need for a short stay. Adjacent to the town centre. Professional service. A most enjoyable stay.
I considered this better for a short stay than the airbnb options. The location is so great, I arrived late at night and was easily able to walk here from the Gravel rd bus station.Only issue was there's no checkin after midnight, my bus was delayed so I was really worried about this but luckily made the deadline.
I was here for a wedding and for the cost, it was great value. The staff let me check in early so that I could get ready for the wedding. The staff were all very nice and friendly. The converted house has a nice setup for the guest house. The beds are super comfy and very clean. The bathroom is also very clean and stocked with toiletries. The hallways themselves were a...
Extremely noisy room owing to the windows not closing properly and blocking the noise from the street below
Only negatives were lack of room service and it was a bit cold in the room. However, staff were friendly, professional, communicative, provided an extra blanket, did a bit of printing for me in prep for a meeting, allowed a late checkout and allowed me to keep my car in the parking lot for a couple of extra hours after checkout.
Booked at last minute but very glad that this was one of the few options left. Very clean and quite spacious room internet was the only issue as it was very slow. Breakfast was one of the best and staff were very helpful will definitely be booking this hotel again
We parked our car and had to walk around the outside of the Hotel due to a large van being parked in front of the fire exit and entry from the car park. Arriving the receptionest said "Good evening and can I have your credit card to pay in advance" This is the first time I have been asked to pay before even seeing the room. It was 7.30pm and raining. We paid. Then they...
I am a 60 year old woman travelling with some friends to attend a funeral. I would definitely stay at this hotel again It was conveniently situated to the town of Chesterfield.and the rooms were .... spacious and clean with triple glazing at he front of the building the only downside might be in the summer as it is situated near a roundabout and having the window op...
I was in Brackley to visit family and chose the Crown for its location. It is an old building and slightly worn but I found this homely compared to the big hotel chains where everything is so clinical. The bar has good local English beers, the breakfast was good, the rooms were spacious and comfortable and the staff were pleasant.Overall I'd give this ten out of ten
In a 2 night stay we changed rooms 3 times! In peak summer, we booked here mainly for the air con, but the one in the room wasn't blowing out cold air. We were given a fan but this didn't make a difference, so we asked to change rooms the next morning. The service was great and we were given another, quieter room which was a little cooler (still with an air con unit on...
4-star hotels in East Midlands, England
I was very impressed with this hotel. It compared favourably with other hotels generally seen as best for the business traveller. It was nice to be able to eat in a peaceful atmosphere and the food was excellent. Breakfast was first class. It's now on my list of best overnight places to stay when I am in Nottingham.
The hotel was in most respects excellent - the room was spacious, clean and the staff were pleasant and helpful. I feel that the hotel is a little "tired" however, the bathroom could do with updating and some of the furniture in the lobby was showing signs of wear.
Due to the weather conditions I could not travel so I have no review. However I want to record that I found it impossible to contact AGODA to let then know. The Hotel were helpful and understanding, but I neverthless lost my payment, with this faceless booking system which is geared to accept bookings but nothing else
The hotel is located well and just off the motorway, on site parking and the rooms are very modern and the service is great. If you book into an executive room, you get access to the lounge area, free food and drinks from 5.30 to 7.30 pm which is a bonus and well worth it. Good gym on site, so overall 5 stars,
We stayed at the Gateway on a Saturday night. We'd had a cheap rate and were impressed to get a huge room, with a double bed, a leather sofa and a coffee table. We wondered if we'd been upgraded. The night was all right, apart from the noise, but I guess it's more because of the guests than the hotel itself. The breakfast was huge, with as much as you like of everythin...
great location with discounted car parking my friend and I stayed for one night and were booked into a small room however this was very small and wouldn't recommend it for couples and only single travelers however we called down to reception and the sorted out with a bigger room straight away of which we were very happy with staff were all friendly and the hotel Room w...
We greatly enjoyed our stay here. Yes the decor and furnishings may be slightly dated, as per other reviews, but we felt that added to the charm, as did the lovely gardens. Staff were so friendly and helpful and our little dog was made most welcome. We only stayed one night prior to renting a self catering bungalow but felt we would have been happy just to have stay...
The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment; the first room was tired, uninspiring and about 100m walk from reception. I requeted a different room in the new section of the hotel and was pleasantly surprised. Reception staff were very helpful. My second room was one of the most spacious, impressive and well equiped rooms i have stayed in this year. The bar area is in need ...
We would return again when in Corby. The faults were minor. There was no sour cream for the bar snack cheese nachos, so I was offered "salad cream with chives", which I heard as "sour cream with chives". That is a nearly inedible combination. A better idea would have been to double the cheese. The shaver plug would allow American and European plugs, 110 and 240 volt, ...
We had a very good price for this 4-star hotel. the room is very spacious and very clean and the location is very convenient for us to go to Silverstone Circuit the next day. Would definitely stay here if the price is the same as the one we got from Agoda.
spent one night at the holiday inn,had a great time. location is fab, right by the quayside, and next to some very good restuarants.just a very short walk into central shopping area. staff were all very friendly and helpful. the room was very large with two big double beds.breakfast was plentiful, with a huge choice. could not fault this hotel.
This hotel has it all. You stay in a traditional English house but at the same time modern. The staff are very friendly and the breakfast is superb. The location is perfect. You are in city center close to everything. I enjoyed very much my stay at this hotel
Rooms are good size and clean however the bed is awful. We ordered lunch and the staff didn't know they have to let the kitchen know that when are ready for our main courses, or at least that was what we were told after waiting for over one and half hours! somehow food was cold, like it has being sitting there for a long time. Breakfast was nothing special you get wh...
if you want an hotel close to East Midlsnds Airport then I can highly recommend this one. clean room comfy bed good bar and good good albeit a touch expensive
These apartments are great and I would definitely recommend them over a hotel. The rooms are all a good size and generally the place is spotless. The kitchen is well equipped - no cafetiere though! The whole apartment is contemporary in style and luckily there was someone on reception when we arrived as the access code did not open the front door however, I called them...
We called Reception 3 times to ask about getting another cup as there was only 1. Nobody answered the phone. That’s never happened to me in a big 4 star hotel before. ( we managed to locate a housekeeping person Abigail who was . Hotel v big & impersonal. I only chose it because it had parking but had not realised it was £15 . Quite rapacious in my view & unnecessaril...
Great staff Allthough very busy they made our stay a pleasure even for just one night. From the reception throgh to the bar and resturant they all had a smile and offered great service. The rooma are important but the staff were the greatest asset of this hotel.
I booked the hotel as a surprise for my 'then girlfriend', for after I proposed to her. The staff were so helpful and arranged lots of extras for us to make the stay even better. They were friendly, helpful, attentative, and very excited for us which made the stay even better. It was brilliant to share our special weekend with them and I am forever greatful to them for...
I stayed on a Monday night. Everything was ok - the accommodation is in a row, set back as far as possible from the main road, so traffic noise was inaudible. I was staying because of visiting friends nearby in the evening, and because I was driving I stayed sober and was looking forward when I returned at 10pm to a drink or two in the bar .... however the bar was be...
Booked as a stopover as we were travelling north. Lovely spacious rooms and very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was outstanding. We had the ribs which were amongst the best I have ever tasted. We Would definitely stay here again
Pros:- location, price, comfort, quality, cleanliness, Cons:- none
Lovely people, nice family atmosphere, good breakfast, comfortable beds and powered shower. Everything a traveller could want, have already booked a return visit.
Luxury hotels in East Midlands, England
Friendly , welcoming owners..lovely rooms , car parking , walking distance into the city, breakfast ..great choice and cooked to perfection.
Stayed in a suite with our 3 yr old for one night to break up a long Christmas journey. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food - particularly the well curated cheese board. Locals in the bar were also friendly. Cuckoo suite was ideal for a family stay.
Very comfortable. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent restaurant for dinner and great breakfast.
We enjoyed our visit to The Six Bells it is well located for visits to Stamford and beyond the staff are a credit to the owners very friendly and helpful . The owners have set a high standard for accomodation and the food is also of a high standard we were so impressed by the quality of the food we had all our meals at the hotel - the breakfast is all types fro...
