Not Pleasant ”
Saturday, March 16th - we asked one of the hotel attendants down the hall cleaning rooms to please get us 2 more pillows. She was non-committal and advised she did not take care of our room. We found her to be less than helpful. When we returned to our room later that evening, I called to the Front Desk requesting 2 more pillows. 20 mins. later they were delivered to our room. YAY! Also, on Saturday, March 16th - I had noticed a couple of ants in the bathroom in the shower. I killed them and thought we were done with them. I also had found one on our nightstand. My ankles were itching and I thought well maybe the ants had bit me as I had some red bite marks. Monday, March 18th – we found an army of ants coming from under the refrigerator and up the desk leg invading a baggie of individually wrapped hard candies. They were swarming all over. I quickly got tissues and started killing them. At the same time, I noticed the refrigerator had a pool of water coming from underneath. I got a bath hand towel, soaked it up and left a new one to absorb any other water. Because we were going out on a scheduled, escorted tour of the Vatican - I stopped at the front reception desk with the zipped baggie as evidence of the ants, explained the issue as well as the pool of water coming from underneath the refrigerator. The front desk said they would have to escalate it to the manager. I left my phone number. While during our tour of the Vatican, the Hotel Mgr. called me and advised he needed permission to go into our room with maintenance to take care of the ants. I gave him permission to take care of the issue. During the course of our conversation, he was very abrupt & non-apologetic. I was taken aback by his attitude. He did offer to move us to another room and we declined explaining we were checking out on Tuesday, March 19th and it would be too disruptive. When we got back to the hotel early evening, we assumed they sprayed for ants because we didn’t see any evidence of ants nor were we ever informed of what steps they took to irradicate the ants. The next problem occurred later that evening. We came back from dinner and the toilet did not work. We decided to wait until the Morning to call down to the front desk to tell them of the problem and yet at the same time hoping it would resolve itself. During the night it was inconvenient to go down to the first floor to use the public restroom. We called the front desk first thing in the morning and they sent a maintenance staff member. He knew exactly what the problem was – the valves in the wall unit flusher were sticking. He had to remove the wall cover, use WD-40 to loosen the valves and got it working again. Guess it’s a common occurrence. On Tuesday, March 19th we were checking out. The Mgr. came out to assist me and said he notified Agoda and they were going to refund me only ½ of one night. I think that’s before I advised him the toilet did not work in our room until the following morning when maintenance fixed it. I hope Agoda will make things right. The Hotel Manager was abrupt, dismissive, condescending and not well versed in customer service – he seemed very rushed and annoyed when I wanted to discuss our stay. There was never an apology or gesture/offer to make things right. At this moment, I cannot recommend Hotel Quirinale.
Good location in a ageing room”
At check-in staff are very nice helpful. They held our luggage till we could check in. check-in was very quick and easy. No hassle. When walking into the room, it was very nice and big. The bathroom was separated to the bedroom, room was spacious, bed was comfy. Bathroom was quite big, had a bathtub as well as a walk-in shower. Breakfast comes included and it was quite nice, a little limited as it was only a small buffet however was still good. However there are some negatives. There were some parts in the room where the floor boards were actually coming up and loose which caused me to hit my foot onto it. A few times the bedside tables were dusty even though on top of the table it had a sign saying something about help us maximise the clean of the room, however they don’t dust the tables so that does not make sense to me . It would also be nice to have some slippers included in the room because the floor was quite dirty upon check in so I had to wear socks the whole time while walking around the room. Another big negative was the shower was broken yeah the rainfall had nothing gone. It was completely broken. There was no pressure on the shower rainfall and so I had to use the showerhead and hold it. Well somehow trying to wash my body and wash my hair which that was impossible to do. There was also one time where I came back to my room however it was in the middle of cleaning service and I had to wait outside my room for at least 10 minutes for a cleaner to come back to my room to complete my cleaning service in the room as there was no cleaners to be seen anywhere Because they do some sort of lock so you can’t enter the room while they’re in the middle of cleaning but there was no cleaners there so they weren’t in the middle of cleaning…

Hotel staff were expecting us when we arrive as they can call out our names. Their service was quick when we requested to turn the room from a double bed to a twin bed room. The room is very clean and the buffet breakfast has a lot of food choices. I like their rich variety of fruit in particular.

Single room is actually "French Room" the hotel call, the bed is bit wider than normal single bed, but too small for 2 people. As a solo traveler, the bed size is quite good. The room size is adequate, you can open your big suitcase without any problem. The bath room was equipped with bath-tub, but I think some other room only has shower-booth. The selection of the breakfast is good as a 4 star hotel, but the quality is little bit degraded in comparison with 5 years ago; especially, scrambled egg has less taste, I think they use much more egg-white than egg-yellow. House keeping is very well, the room is well kept clean, and so the hotel lobby and the corridor. If there is a problem, it will be the noisy corridor and the sound is easily heard / noticed from the room. Some may need ear-cap.

I reside in Germany and travelled to Rome with my friends from Canada and India. I made my first impression of the hotel through an Email exchange before the travel asking for a cab service from the airport and received immediately a positive reply which made a very good 1st impression. After reaching the hotel, we were mesmerized with its finesse, grace and charm till we reached the reception. There was absolutely no part where we felt welcomed..not even a hello or a smile...Anyways we strated with the process, the lady explained us everything and then came the part where she asked us to pay the tourist tax which we were already informed about while booking. I just very politely said "ahh its quite high, how is it calculated? Is it per person or per booking?" with absolute no intention of any argument or resistance..the lady got irritated immediately and asked why are you asking me? I didn't decide it... To that i only replied...i don't mean to bother you or something, i just wanted to know how is it calculated. Anyways, we were taken to the room, and to our surprise, a group of three women under 40, were given a room for disabled people. The bathroom was terrible, the water kept flowing out of the shower cabin, the whole bathroom got wet. Next day we called the room service, who was very friendly and apologised for the mess but said she cannot help much since the room is meant for disabled people. After requesting at the reception, Fabio helped us immediately and changed the room for us. The Breakfast Buffet could get a little better with more variety. The staff responsible for the Luggage room was very kind and funny, forgot to ask his name unfortunately. The Hotel has lots of possibilities to get better only if they can work on certain aspects. The location is the best part here. A very bitter sweet experience for us, but if they can work on certain aspects, i would definitely recommend it to others..
