“Hidden Fees and Useless staff”
First, the costs advertised are deceptive. When you check in, they add a resort fee of over $30 per day. Do they think this is the Ritz-Carlton? This is not a resort, it's a less attractive version of an Embassy Suites. In addition, if you want a towel for the pool, they charge your credit card $20 which is refundable, but to get the refund they give you a card that you have to get stamped by the lifeguard and then you have to bring that back with you at checkout. Worst of all, although my reservation was clearly for two people, they would not allow my wife to check in, since I made the reservation and not she. I was at business meetings in downtown Miami and could not get up there in person till after 9:00 p.m. that night. That means though we paid for two days we effectively got only one. This, despite the fact that I called twice and spoke to the people at the property, who simply refused to allow my wife to check in and said it was their "policy." Of course, there was no refund. Welcome to North Korea in Florida!
