This is a great experience to have while in rome to stay in one of the old family palaces while they still live there. Place is amazing and location just a couple of minutes walk from Piazza di Spagna so very central. staff are very friendly and although reception is not manned 24 hours they are always on call. Definitely something to experience.

the location was perfect walking distance to all the monuments (spanish steps, trevi fountain, the vatican, piazza di Venezia, Coliseum..) couple of blocks away fron the main shopping street (piazza di spagna) no need to get public transportation. the room was economy, very small but very clean (we just used it to sleep. rome is about walking around and discovering, so...

The staff at this hotel were second to none. We left our phone in the taxi on the way to the hotel and the receptionist Sonya was so helpful in telephoning the taxi company and speaking directly with the driver in Italian for us, and we got our phone back. The hotel is centrally located between all the best attractions. The room was very spacious indeed and very clean...

Location is great for Piazza del Popolo, Villa Borghese, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. A 15 minute walk gets you to THe roman Fourum/Colosseum/Palatine Hill and the udergraound metro rail is very close. Lots of high-end and mid-range shops around ...

What a sensational hotel - our second time at this property and again we were not disappointed. If anything the property has improved since becoming part of the Star Hotel group. Super location / great staff / well appointed and large rooms in the middle of room. 3 minutes to the Spanish steps and in an upmarket shopping area of Rome. Thank you guys we will be back...

I had no idea what to expect with my last minute booking My arrival on the busy street was greeted by a smiling staff member. I rounded the entrance my jaw dropped. The hotel was stunning. Strategic location, 5 mins walk to Trevi Fountain and walking distance to everywhere else, from Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Piazza Navona to restaurants, souvenir shops, mini marts and retail stores. Service was exceptional. From the moment we arrived they were eager to provide suggestions for food and site seeing. Our room was upgraded just because it was available! They gave us all the best options for getting around and told us what we should be paying in taxis so that we weren't over charged. Th location is ideally located close to the Trevi and Piazza di Spagn...

We arrived Rome at 8am and Hotel Stendhal was so kind to let us check-in early by 10am (instead of the usual 2pm). The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was on the 4th storey with a balcony overlooking the main street Via del Tritone, it was fantastic. The hotel is also located very near bus-stops of the various "hop on & off tour buses" so it was very convenie...

This is our first time in Rome. We booked 2 rooms for 1 night. We had arrived early around 10.30am and we were glad that they were able to allocate us 1 room that was ready. The reception (I believe it is Mr Luca) who was manning the counter noticed that it was my birthday and we had a lovely surprise when the hotel placed a bottle of Prosecco in our room to ...

The hotel is beautiful, a real throwback to that Dolce Vita! If you don’t like your room you can always ask for an upgrade! They’re very accommodating.Only issue is the sketchy Wi-Fi. So if you’re there to work, you probably can’t work in your room as our Wi-Fi went in and out 100 times.

Room was a bit dated but the location is absolutely PERFECT a few minutes to Trevi, Spanish steps, Borghese park/piazza, 20 min walk to Colosseum and 20 min to Vatican. There was no electric tea kettle in room and so if you wanted hot drink at night you were out of luck - breakfast was decent/staff friendly. The 'free mini bar' is misleading - it means 2 bottles of w...

Friendly reception (especially Mario) and attentive housekeeping, spacious room, and the best location for shopping and sightseeing! If I go back to Rome I will surely stay again. P.S: Because Mario worked so hard, I asked him if he was the owner of the hotel. He said "No, but I work hard because this is my work". I was deeply touched by his words. The hotel owner who ...

We had the great pleasure of staying at this Hotel recently. It’s location is second to none. Situated on the famous “Spanish Steps”.. it’s vantage point for people watching is fab. The room we stayed in 525 has a small balcony that you could sit on and litteraly watch the world go by. My only criticism would be that the Breakfast lacked choice , and for the money tha...

Near Spagna metro station, Spanish Steps, Shopping at Via Condotti, Eating at Via Delle Croce. Be prepared to carry the luggages up a few flight of stairs. Room...

My husband and I came to Rome for a long romantic weekend and chose this hotel as it's amazing location- 150 meters from Fontana do Trevi. We loved it at Hotel La Lumiere. It's a quaint, small, 3 star, typical Italian hotel in a fantastic location with wonderful staff.
