Fiumicino Airport hotels & places to stay

We spent our last night in Italy at a hotel close the the Fiumicino Airport in Rome, expecting just the most basic accommodations in a boring location while waiting to leave the next morning. Surprisingly, we ended up staying in one of the most comfortable rooms during our two-week stay in Italy, a short walk away from a beautiful riverfront strip where the Tiber meets the Mediterranean lined up with great seafood restaurants for our last authentic Italian meal. The only major drawback is the 6 euro charge for a five-minute shuttle to the airport.

This modern hotel uses pops of orange to brighten their world. It is just 10-15 mins from Fiumicino airport. A Euro 24:00 taxi ride. You can enjoy the italian tradition of taking a stroll along the pier and then enjoy dinner at a nearby restaurant. The hotel provides a shuttle service from 05:00 priced at E 6.00 and a breakfast bag if you wish. Perfect for an early flight.

The staff was excellent, very patient and pleasant. The location is great. The breakfast has more options than most business style hotels in my experience. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were all excellent. The location is actually in walking distance from the scheduled bus that goes between Termini Station, Fiumicino airport and the City of Fiumicino.

I stayed here the night before flying back to the US after 3 months in Italy. I am always sad when I leave. But being at B&B Isola Fiumicino helped make my last night just as pleasant as the rest of my stay. Piero is helpful, cheerful, friendly, and personalbe. He picked me up and dropped me off punctually. He recommended a great restaurant which made my last night in Italy memorable. The B&B is situated just two blocks from the beach, so I was able to take a lovely stroll along the sea and relax before my journey home. All in all, a great find and I will be returning!

We had a one night stay after a long international flight prior to our departure elsewhere. The hotel provides a very good shuttle bus service to / from Fiumicino Airport. All of the staff speak very good English and were only too happy to assist. I had emailed in advance as my travelling companion had special needs - all of these were actioned exactly as requested. I would recommend this hotel to anybody needing a good hotel near the airport...it also appears to have ample parking for those with rental cars, etc.

Took train from Venice to Rome Airport for early departure. Map shows how close Fiumicino Airport is to the coast. Airport has only a high-priced Hilton. BW Hotel Riviera was ideal. Bright, clean, large-ish room with ocean view. 1-2 blocks from the sandy Fiumicino city beach with a lifeguard and beach bars. 4-5 blocks from beach-side restaurants (had a terrific seafood dinner at Rosso Corallo "Red Coral"). Receptionist Gianlucca was very welcoming & helped us book the 6 Euros o/w shuttle to the airport for 6:40 am the following morning. Airport is 15-20 minutes away by shuttle. Just one word of caution: website says pick up the shuttle from the airport at bus stop 24 at Terminal 3. There is no 24 now (May 2018). Instead, go to the traffic island opposite Exit 4. Wait near the "Best Western Airport" sign--but don't take the BW Airport shuttle, which actually goes to Rome. Instead, use the Hotel Riviera website info for the shuttle company's name. Shuttle comes every 45 minutes or so.

We stayed twice for one night at the beginning and end of our stay in Italy. We would strongly recommend the hotel for its convenience for anyone who needs to stay a night close to Fiumicino Airport. The room was excellent, the reception warm and friendly. There are good restaurants not least the Michelin-starred restaurant associated with the hotel itself. Better by far than an airport hotel.

Just a 10 minute walk to Parco Leonardo train station, only one stop to Fumicino Airport. Attractive apartment in safe and secure complex. Short walk to large supermarket and shopping centre with food court. Apartment is modern, clean and comfortable. We found the bed to be one of the most comfortable we had in 6 weeks of touring Italy. One minor improvement would be a kettle in preference to heating water in microwave.

We booked here because originally when we booked 3 months ago it said it was close to the airport and it had a shuttle for a “nominal fee” I think I am not the only one to say something because when we checked in they said it was 40 euro for the shuttle. I told them that is not what I call a nominal fee. I checked the booking site to confirm and now it says on their 40 euro. It changed since I booked. I would not stay here again. It’s still 20 KM from the airport. The family suite is the furthest from the wi fi hub so we barely got a signal or had to sit in the hot hallway to get a signal. On a positive though there is a decent restaurant across the street, a grocery store and McDonald’s about a 100 meters down the road. The staff was super nice and because we had an early flight they booked a taxi for us (but that was 60 euro). In my two weeks in Italy Taxis were by far the biggest scammers. They ripped me off about 50 percent of the time (that I know of). I would not stay here again.

Our room was spacious, bathroom was newly remodeled and nice. The hotel was in a neighborhood, so I was a little concerned when we 1st arrived, but the place was very clean and fresh. I’m always concerned about smells and this hotel was great. The staff arranged transportation and for €7,00 each, they transported us to the airport. This is a taxi ride from any services, so bring whatever food you need with you. In the morning, they offer a light breakfast and wonderful coffee.

While I believe that the vast majority of the customers are travelers coming and going from and to the Fiumicino airport, the transportation in between these points is very important. I have to admit that an airport shuttle is available and works very well. My note here in this regard is that for a first time visitor of this hotel, the way this shuttle works is very difficult to find. I had to go back and forth in the Agoda web site (because this is how I've got the reservation and the hotel voucher) and I communicated with Agoda personnel and eventually I found the airport shuttle schedule and location after spending valuable time. This why I suggest that Agoda to add on the hotel voucher this information too, aside of the hotel reservation information. I would've found such an addition as a sign of respect showed to the customer.

Stay fine but better directions needed. Google maps puts the Nuovo Fiera in the wrong position. It is in a gated community to the East of the Via Lorenzo Allievi, together with two other B&Bs, Happy Days and Flat in Rome One. Nuovo Fiera is the second most southerly house in the back row of houses in the Gated area. A bell-push is at the entrance to the Community on the East side of the Via Lorenzo Allievi which is opposite the exit from Ponte Galeria station across the Via Portuense.

We stayed here for a night as a stopover. The location is nice and in a residential area. It's quiet and peaceful however for sightseeing you have to take a cab to the airport so you get a good connection by train or bus. The place is 10 mins or 4 kms from the airport but away from shopping area I guess. The owner was very helpful and patient even when we had a card payment issue. The room is super clean with a soap and shampoo sachet on the bed for two and a bath towel for two as well which was really helpful. We didn't take the breakfast package so can't comment on that. Overall a very nice place to relax and stay.

Great place for a transit night stay through Rome. Staff picked us up quickly at the airport and whisked us to the inn which is super close to the airport (5 mins). Only a small place with 4 rooms but nice and clean, modern amenities and restaurants within walking distance. Wifi worked well, and lovey vegan breakfast provided in the morning (along with some great conversation). Transfers to/from hotel 5euro per person, and inn is very affordable.

Passoscuto in the winter is like many seaside towns in the off season except more dismal. Now I actually like visiting seaside towns in the winter and walking along the deserted beaches and seeing the closed down amusement parks etc. This town was littered with rubbish, dog excrement covered the pavements, and was very run down. The apartment is pro b ably the best house in the town (which is good) but the town is really depressing. The host was wonderful... really helpful with tourist advice and responsive to a couple of very minor issues we had. I would not stay in Passoscuto in the winter... maybe in the summer it is more pleasant.

I booked my stay here in preparation to my early flight out of Fiumicino the following day. From booking the trip to checking in, it was a pleasant experience. They scheduled a shuttle to and from the airport for me, were very warm when I checked in. The manager (Roberto?) was so kind at check in. Room was spotlessly clean, lots of towels, extremely comfy bed, air conditioning. I slept like a baby! The shuttle driver (Lyouben) was such a sweet man - gave me a send off at 5 am that brought tears to my eyes. Lovely place, even better staff. Was a great way to end my stay in Italy. Monica and her husband are amazing hosts - nothing is too much trouble and they've really created a 'home away from home'. The room was spacious and clean with everything necessary - even some of my favourite books about artists to read! Their recommendation for a restaurant 'Mammaro' was the second choice but still outstanding with a genuine local feel about it. They made it easy to get to the airport in the morning with a transfer at a very reasonable rate. My only regret is not having more time to spend in Rome and so enjoy their hospitality!
