Where to stay in Venice
Venice hotels & accommodations
I was attracted by this hotel's photos when choosing hotel for my stay. You may realize that most of the hotels in Venice are quite old or just not the style of a hotel that we usually see. This hotel stood out with its excellent interior design and atmosphere. This hotel is very easy to find, and it's just besides the train station, which is very convenient for tho...
The room is clean, wide, well-decorated, high standard. The location is near St. Marco and main shopping and restaurant area. The breakfast is perfect. The special price is really "bargain" for everybody. the staffs are kind. The lobby and the salon are also confortable. this hotel will be one of the best hotels in Venice, I believe.
Pros: - Central location , walking distance to all central attractions - Reasonable cost compared to other 4 stars hotels in venice - Very nice and helpful staff - Excellent breakfast - We chose a standard room, the space was as expected, and it was with a terrace - Good sound was proof Cons. - Absolutely nothing
I had never been to Venice before so picked this hotel mostly based on good reviews, and I was not disappointed!!! A four star hotel deserving its four stars. Away from the bustling St Mark’s it was a delight to escape to after a days sightseeing and relax at the tables by the canal outside the hotel. The hotel itself is fabulous. I was sceptical that it couldn’t be as ...
This hotel is amazing. The details through the hotel are spot on. The photos do not do the hotel justice, it is better. The room had everything, nothing out of place, nothing even slightly wrong. From the moment you walk in you are always greeted with friendly helpful staff at reception, around the hotel and in the dinning room. Nothing was too much trouble. The locati...
Best thing about it was the location to the train/bus station(2 mins walk). Takes you to the St Lucia which is the main station for Venice. From there you can walk to the main attractions inside Venice. Hotel is so facilitated.bar open 24hours. You can just chill down at the lobby not just bound in your room. There’s a pizzeria near by and it’s worth every penny. Lovel...
The hotel is by no means cheap. However, put in perspective against hotels in Venice itself, it is attractively priced. Just across the street from the train station, the main attractions of Venice are a mere train ride away. And getting there from anywhere else in Italy is also just that, a mere train ride away.
It was very nice. The location is right in the heart of Venice, making it easy to walk to most of Venice within 5-20 minutes. The staff was friendly and attentive. They helped us with information about the water bus, gondolas, restaurants and other items. The breakfast was a nice continental breakfast in nice surroundings. The room was comfortable, although very sm...
Venice was my first destination in Italy and looking back on the vacation, the Antiche Figure Hotel was by far the best (of hotels I stayed in at Florence, and Rome). I booked this hotel as it was directly across the Grand Canal from the Venice train terminal. It's nice to just walk over the bridge, turn right and walk 100 ft and be at the hotel. Our room was very nice...
This was a lovely hotel just up from Rialto Ferry stop which made it so easy to get to from airport. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast area was small but good breakfast. Rooms and bathroom were bigger than I expected for hotel in Venice. They were quiet too. Would definitely stay here again.
It's the best hotel we stayed in our European tour. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The hotel is just in front of the Train Station and yet very quiet. Very convenient to stay outside Venice island and transport is easy by train to the island. Highly recommended than to stay with Venice hotels at the island which are very hard to find and to transport into th...
You can’t find a better hotel in Venice. The location was right in the heart of all the activities close to St Marks. The staff was superb and the rooms were large and updated, while keeping their old charm. And you could look out over side canals or the Grand Canal. Perfect place to stay while in Venice
Highly recommend this hotel. It is located in Mestre and is a 15 minutes ride by bus from the Venice island. The best thing is that there is a bus stop located right outside the hotel from where you can catch a bus straight to Venice, and also a supermarket literally next door. We bought a day pass for public transportation and it was great value as we came back from ...
We absolutely loved our stay in Venice! This is by far the best hotel weve stayed in out of all the hotels that weve booked during our recent Euro Trip. They had a wide variety of food for breakfast (compared to the rest of the hotels that weve booked in Paris, Zurich, Milan and Rome). Their staff was friendly and accommodating! And our room was always tidy. Only drawb...
Coming from a Florence bnb I was delighted to check into Canal Grande hotel. Right from the start before my arrival I had emailed to the hotel asking about transport options to and from Venice train station and airport and the staff had been v responsive and provided clear directions. That had left me with a good first impression (I didn't get any response from another...
The Baglioni Hotel Luna is marvelously located mere steps away from St. Mark's Square in Venice. It is on the Grand Canal with a gondola stop just outside the front door and a vaporetto station just around the corner. Myriad shopping and dining options are within a five-minute walk of the hotel, but if you don't want to leave the property, I highly recommend the hotel...
Our best hotel in Venice. Never regret booking here. The hotel room is very nice and cozy. A vintage feel, although the wardrobe are quite old. Good services. Good location. Just opposite the train station.
My wife and I stayed in a junior suite which was just simply beautiful, old world charm with modern facilities like internet. We took a water taxi from the marco polo airport direct to the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great within walking distance to great restaurants and major attractions. Venice is expensive you cannot escape tha...
I've heard most hotels in Venice were not good especially in terms of cleaness. But hotel rio was very clean^_^ and staffs were kind. Some people said it was uncomfortable because there was no lift but the staff carried all my huge luggages so it didn't matter:-)(my luggages were almost 40kg:o) the location was also very good.
one of the best hotels in Venice. spacious and clean room. but you would better hire a porter from the bus, train station to the hotel because of rugged road and bridges(5 euro per luggage). and you should put the address(not hotel name) to get the exact direction on the google map.
The maneger was so friendly and helpful when i told him that one of the stuff was rude to us and he apologized with a gift and a card. The room was so clean old but they mean to be old because this is the oldest hotel in venice. The breakfast was not as expected because we are vegetarian and we there are not a lot of variety for us. I did not like the way they cook the...
We LOVED Hotel Ai Cavalieri di Venezia, it's a beautiful hotel with a larger size room than most in Europe/Italy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. If you're going on your honeymoon to Venice, splurge and stay here. It's not that much more expensive than others and WELL worth the stay. The best part... BREAKFAST. The included breakfast was the most beautiful s...
We chose the Excelsior on Lido because it's beach/pool with the easy option to go into Venice....so it's the best of both worlds. The complimentary boat to/from is a real tangible benefit that adds value to the price. The manager, Giorgia, was so helpful to us. She has a great understanding of hospitality and was incredibly professional and kind.
Everything is good. Breakfast is good. Location is good. Room is good. Cheapest among the hotels in Venice.
We loved the layout of the room which was a loft concept! My elderly parents took the sofa bed while baby, husband and I slept in the loft. Loft area comprised 3 single beds and there's still lots of floor space for baby to crawl around on. I also loved the location - away from the noise of San Marco. Near to the hotel are some quaint Baccaris. Ask the hotel for re...
Excellent location: 100m from Piazzale Roma bus station, and just 50m from Stazione di Venezia Santa Lucia train station). You don't have to drag your bags walking all over Venice to and from these bus or train stations, with connections to the airports and other cities in Italy. The street is filled with restaurants, cafe, grocers, souvenir, and shops of all your nee...
Had two double rooms (3rd Floor). Rooms were larger than standard Italy hotels. Bathrooms were also large with shower and bath. Location is a 3 minute walk to Realto Water Bus (the stop from and to st Lucia train station), 3 to 5 min walk to San Marco Square. Lots of foods, shops, etc. right outside hotel. Perfect location if you want easy access to touristy stuff. Su...
We didn’t regret a single bit on booking this hotel, mainly because of it’s location. It is just a few meters from the train station and we don’t need to take the boat or walk around Venice with our luggage. There are no buses or trains in Venice, and the only available options are the ferries/boats. We saw a lot of people struggling with their luggages on ferries or ...
Very happy, hotel was clean, breakfast very good, staff helpful they happily printed out some vouchers for entry to attactions. Location is exremly central easy to find, rooms are basic, small but addequate, your in venice you dont want to be in your room much anyway!! Its located in the most touristy area but still quiet. It may be expensive but i think its venice pri...
The location is very convenient, just walk 1 minute after you dropped off the water bus. The first point i want to say is I love the Baroque style decoration so much! It was amazing when you go inside, especially we booked the suite with lagoon view. As my husband and i mentioned we went for celebrating honeymoon, the hotel manager was very sweet to offer us the specia...

I booked Andavenice a month out from my first solo trip to Venice Italy. I had booked another hostel when I noticed Andavenice had recently opened. It was half the price if my original choice do I decided to give it a go. Boy did I make the right choice! I stayed for a full week in the women's six bed dorm. It was spacious, clean, modern, and air conditioned. The...
My wife, step son , and myself were quite enjoy the stay in CVJ. The internet is great in the camping room and the room for 3 people is quite compact. When we just arriving and got into the room I got the most of the blame because my wife complained to me that she was hoping the room is bigger but when the time we booked the this camping site most of the larger room wa...
Good location, just 3 minutes to the Mestre railway station on foot. Good service, the reception always smiles and give us good suggestions about transportation to the Venice. equipped kitchen, very clean, very recommended.
Amazing location just a short hop across to all the Venice action. Incredibly clean and very well designed hostel. I was a solo traveler in Europe and had the most fun at this hostel due to the people met and the many cheap euro wines consumed. Would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a budget friendly clean place to stay in Venice. Please note this...
The location is about 10-15mins walk away from Venice Mestre Train Station (going thru an underpass nearby). The place is ideal if you want good and affordable accommodations just outside of the Venice Santa Lucia tourist trap. The toilet and shower rooms are kept generally clean and with ample hot water. The beds are pretty comfortable with clean sheets, although th...
The reception received at Hotel Atlantide started our two days in Venice on the right foot. She provided us with a great room and was very pleasant. Room met our needs and enabled us to get most out of our two days in Venice through staying at two different locations after booking mishaps..
We're staying within the triple room that was announced to have bathroom inside. What was a surprise, when we came and an administrator has give us the room #101 with the external bathroom saying that all other 2 rooms were occupied! They claimed to have in-room safe - don't believe they don't and administrator told us that he's no responsibility for the facility list...
Very beautiful. Staff very kind. Location, on the small island Lido: It isn't the main island and it's an advantage because in Lido, it's quiet and not crowded like the main island in Venice. They don't have any restaurants but we can find many restaurants in the area. Breakfast of good quality and with very various food. The hotel is beautiful, quiet and clean. Ther...
Then while I was away, took all my belongings in the room into a pile in the hallway to make place for the new guests after 1 night. Tried to put me in a dorm as an alternative. Hang up on me on the phone because I was upset at the situation and talked a bit loud. I didn't swear or insulted him. Finally put me in a less nicer room in another place but at this point, I...

Staying outside of Venice was the best idea we had. Bus #2 was at the doorstep of Hotel Garibaldi and took us easily back & forth to Venice. Our 48 hour bus pass bought at the hotel desk covered all trips with Bus #2 and all the water bus (Vapotettos) trips we made on the Grand Canal and out to the outer islands (paid $30 E which paid for itself afte 1 day). We came ba...
A clean room in an Air Bnb style house cheapish and about 20 minutes from P.Roma (Bus and train station) We got to do our laundry for free :) Cons: I was expecting a B&B but it wasn't... The heating didn't work so it was cold...We found it hard to sleep on the first day but slept well on the second... no hot water on day 1 but got fixed on day 2... Since it was a ro...
Actually, the hotel has many advantages 1) Well located. It's kind of farm from Venice center, but the transportation to Venice central is so easy with bus. Whereas, the bus station is in front of the hotel. Moreover, you will not pay more than the normal daily ticket to travel from the hotel to the Marco Polo Airport and to return back, because there's this public bu...
we staying here 3 nights and its a great base for venice, 5-10 mins walk up athe main street, to the vaperetto, and there are plenty of places to eat and drink on the lido main street, hotel breakfast was typical continental, and it was nice to eat in the gardens, wifi worked fine and was free, room was clean and tidy, air con was nice, and there was even a mini fridge...
I must say one of the best hotels in Venice . IT HAS CANAL VIEW , PERFECT BREAKFAST , Nice and clean rooms , near to main locations like Rialto and San Marco , can reach these location within 5-10mints by walk , close to restarunts . Good for couples as it's so peaceful if you sit at terrace .
The issue we have with the property is that we searched for and had confirmed an apartment, which means flat in other words, which must be fully self-contained. What we actually got was a bedroom sleeping three people, with a bathroom. Just a hotel room in other words. The kitchen was shared with the other B&B guests. The kitchen came with no knives and forks or spoons...
This hotel is conveniently located a short walk from Venice Mestre Train Station (from which you can get to Venice proper in less than 10 minutes) The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and provide a most adequate Italian breakfast. If you want to visit Venice but don't want the hassle of dragging luggage over bridges and down small lanes with thousands of peo...
As is name the hotel is very central. very convenient to go to venice and easy to go there by bus.Bus nesr the door of the hotel and it take only 15 minutes to reach Roma square in venice. In venice hotels are much more expensive.Only a bad surprise, the hotel ask-you a city tax of 1,8 euros per day.(maximum 5 days).
i booked the room for my relatives. the location is conveniently located near san marco square, lots of affordable restaurants around and souvenir shops. the hotel is old and small but well maintained. priced reasonably. will use it again in our next trip to venice
It’s a good location and a quiet area. Everything is within walking distance. Be prepared to pay city tax which is not included in Agoda, we paid €4 each person per day. I don’t know why it’s not included. Our room didn’t include a TV which is ok, since we’re out everyday. Bathroom towels in Italy are hard on one’s skin and they don’t give extra for the floor or to was...
I was on a bike trip to Venice and decided to stay in Mestre. This was a pleasant small B&B, very tidy, I slept really well. The room had air-conditioning, the bed is good. The one compromise is that the bathroom is shared, however, there are two spacious facilities, so no need to wait, at least I did not have to. The breakfast is somewhat simple (croissant, jam, yoghu...
Would definitaly stay here again, and would recommend it to enyone who wants to stay at Murano. I might even stay here if I go back to Venice as it was only a 20 min boatride or so from Venice city centre. There are public"ferryboats", Alilaguna, going around the clock to Venice city centre...we left from here to the Canareggio region and after 22.00 you could not get...
Hotel Cristallo is located on the lido part of Venice, in a great location with plenty of restaurants and coffee shops around it. The staff were super friendly and the room was basic and clean. Breakfast was simple yet tasty, the croissants are delicious! The only 'flaw' I would say is that the room was very basic and could really do with a full length mirror and/or a ...
i cant say it is 4 star, but a decent 3 star... service was good, breakfast good, location good if you like lido island, but the interior of the room is bit.... old, seemed like the furniture had been there for the past 20 odd years or so, but it seemed to be usual in italy.. i would definitely stay there again if i go to venice
We absolutely loved the location of Albergo Casa Peron. Although it is not your typical hotel, it does come with complimentary toiletries, a hair dyer and daily room cleaning. We loved that we were a 7 minute walk from the bus terminal and about 10 mins from the train station, without having to cross too many bridges. The staff was super friendly and recommended the re...

A very pleasant stay at this hotel, the bus stop to Venice and a supermarket are just a minute walk from the hotel. We arrived in Venice Mestre by train about midnight, we didn't find any problem to find the hotel, just follow the main road Via Piave right infront of the Mestre railway station, turn right after you see a park, the hotel is at the first right hand corne...

This was one of the best hotels I have stayed in recently and could not fault it for anything. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. They even had a barista to make coffee if you didnt fancy the percolated type...
It was good. Relativly cheap because its conviniently located outside venice that keeps the price down. There was a bus route outside hotel which in 5 stops took us to the venice boatstation(main island)about 15 min. Clean and neatly looking rooms.
The best hotel we stayed in Italy. Located right beside the Grand Canal, It is a beautiful hotel. The receptionist always greet us with a smile and was very helpful. The room was perfect and surprisingly spacious (judging ...
Staff are nice & very helpfull. Buffet breakfast is plenty and good value for money at €4 per person. Got the amenities we needed for our few days stay including daily complimentary bottled water. They offer airport shutt...
I didnt like the old style hotels in venice so i booked this one because its the most modern i could find. Booked a classic doubke room but they upgraded our room to a junior suite! Love this hotel! Book this you wont regret it
The majority of hotels in Venice are 'old'! Therefore, it is impossible to expect modern 3-5-star hotels. We chose the All'Angelo as it was close to St Mark's Square -- not a cheap hotel area! The Reception staff were excellent: helpful and friendly. Breakfast (buffet) was adequate for us: scrambled eggs and bacon (don't like scrambled eggs so didn't try this), choic...

Hotel is very well located yet blissfully quiet inside. The sound insulation on the bedrooms is impressive and the beds comfortable - slept really well. Value wise, every hotel in Venice is expensive but these rooms are spacious and kept spotless by the staff. We had a fantastic welcome and had some great tips. Breakfast was good with plenty of variety.
Good location. Friendly staff and rapid services. Surely stay here again for my next visit to Venice
Best thing about this hotel is the location. Located right next to St Angelo Pier! No need to walk through the maze of streets and alleys. The main door of the hotel faces the waterfront and you could sit at the lobby and enjoy the beautiful view of Venice. The hotel had a very personalised check-in process which we appreciate very much. The room we were given did n...
Luxury hotels in Venice
Bauer Palazzo is the the most endearing and positive hotel in Venice these days!!! And the most Italian and authentic except maybe Daniele. THE Venice hotel

Look no further and book here in the executive level. The amenities at this level surpass any costs which you would incur for drinks and food in Venice. The shuttle boat is the way to go it takes you directly to San Marco square. This is our 3rd trip to Venice and we will return to this hotel. Note that many hotels in Venice require massive walking and the standards ...
My father insisted we stay here having had done so himself when his father took him to Venice. He assured me that I would be remissed if I didn't. The Danieli is without a doubt the most beautiful hotel I have ever stayed in. My jaw dropped walking into the lobby. The ceiling and the sky light instantly made me a snap happy tourist. I had to take in all the details and...
The hotel looks just like its website photos - the decor is very chic and service is good. Importantly, it's just a short walk to a Vaporetto stop and from there, you can get all around Venice easily on the water buses. We would good back again.
Location is delicious, across the water from St Mark's Square, with both an ajacent Vaporetto stop and a free shuttle boat connecting to the city centre, but peaceful and quiet away from the bustle and with a wide labyrinth of a garden... Excellent 5 star service, and a good restaurant open till late. We were extremely well looked after and greatly enjoyed spending ...
Stunning from start to finish - We had a private water taxi to arrive on the island, wonderfully comfortable rooms, 1st class staff & concierge, boat shuttle service every 30 mins, roof top infinity pool that looks over to Venice all helped to make it a wonderful couple of days.
Gorgeous new remodel. Pleasant pool. Really, wonderful staff and excellent location away from the craziness of venice. Stay here!
An excellent hotel and a great location to get away and recover from the exertions of the day in Venice. Staff are generally very helpful and boat shuttle is great.
This is one of the best hotels in Venice, with an excellent location, decor and facilities. As with most of Venice, the customer service can be a little hit and miss but otherwise this place is perfect.
we arrived ca sagredo very late at night. the hotel staff was very helpful to pick up our baggages from the water taxi, reception staff also helpful and speak very good english. breakfast was very good although only very limited choices. we like the breakfast place so much and you feel like you are living in a palace.
Boscolo Venezia has a wonderful location and very attentive staff; each encounter with them was genuine and made you feel like family. Comfortable bed; gem of a garden, which was the best surprise. The very traditional decor was not my preference, but it is well maintained. Watch out for the mosquitos, but they are all over Venice. Really appreciated the free shuttl...
Hotel should provide more info on location! First time in Venice and we struggled with the water taxi drop off. The closest taxi stop is San Samuel...luckily for the hotel choice, it was close enough for it to be a mere 10 m away from the hotel doorstep...we wondered about the other hotels which were not accessible by the canal water taxis...room is very small though ...
Probably the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The staff, the location, the view over that canal. Everything was perfect. We had a wonderful stay.

Very nice and great place for every type of travelers. Travelling by boat and gondolas are quite an experience.
Love the canals. I could spend hours just sitting at a restaurant and stares at the boats going back and forth across the canal.
Go for a gondola ride, visit the doge's palace, wander round the city and then leave. Only stay for one night because there isn't much to do.
One of the best legs of my honeymoon. We both love the chill factor of Venice and it is one of the prettiest places to visit.
Venice is a very beautiful and romance city for sightseeing. The scenery and view are very nice. The first time I take the Gondora and feel very excited.
so far only in the movies I saw in the Venetian canals ... they are really real:)) that was fantastic!!!
A very unique city. Although it is crowded and sometimes flooded in part of areas, it is worthy to visit again
Venice is beautiful but taxi fare is very high. Local authorities/ Government should not slap tax/ duty on the tourists.
Always nice to visit Venice (for the 8th time or more...). Too bad they only now started to build ramps over the bridges so that strollers can travel easily in the city.
Venice is a very beautiful place for holidays specially for sightseeing on the different Islands. I visited Murano Island and it's worth seeing it.
A perfect place for a coupes! I find it extremely romantic with a magic and unique touch you can't find anywhere else.
A romantic place, i have a great time there. You will be impress to the historical building and the build on the water.
good place to relax but not worth to stay cos hotel is very expensive and not meet the standard. and the road is very messy and difficult to find
Hot and crowded. If you have never tried being packed in a hot, crowded and humid water taxi my suggestion is don't! Best thing to do is to avoid Venice in summer!
It;s a famous City in the World but not all people the same it;s a different taste sure but i advice to visit and each one by himself decide
Venice is a true historical gem, which makes everyone want to descend upon it. It seems to be the Disneyland for adults, and is filled with more tourists than locals.
A scenic city with a picturesque view at every corner. The squid ink pasta is a must-try! Take a Gondola ride to complete the experience.
Try to walk around Santa Lucia to San Marco, enjoy the view, sooo many bridges, beautiful and exhausted, but fun! U can always rest once in a while and enjoy scoops of Gelato.
expensive food.. too many tourists. Bus travelled frequently (10-15 minutes) from Mestre (city outside the island) to/from the island.
beautiful city in a canal, take the boat out of the canal and see other parts of venice you find yourself in another beautiful world.
All recommendations from tourist guidebooks and internet don't work there... follow your noise and the crowd of local people (not tourist), you may find some good restaurants.
Very touristy, evidenced by stupid prices (even the public toilets are one euro fifty a pee,) unpleasant locals, and a real lack of urban spirit.
Alot of nice historical building. You can find alot of Murano glass arts sold throughout the island.
The buildings look rather rundown but then again it's a very old city. The food is delicious and the people there are friendly.
Venice is crowded and tourists walk routes are easily marked out. For those not marked.. they are for residents and do not venture, for they often ended up in a dead end.
Venice is awesome, place to go for sightseeing, romance, shopping. Last but not least, its also a place so easy to get lost in.
Nice to explore on foot. Do try out the Venetian specialties and Spirtz. Not quite the romantic place everyone says.
From the hotel we obtained a 24-hr transport ticket which covered the bus to Vienna (7 mins) and for a vaporetta (ferry) which you can hop on an hop off at various stages, including visiting Lido and Murano, two nearby islands.
Nice, beware of some restaurant they have a hidding cost "caperto charge". not fix and some charge euro 5 :( mojority i find venice people are more friendly.
Venice was everything I thought it would be and more. 5 days wasn't enough! Getting lost in alleys, eating chiccetti with locals, drinking aperol in the afternoon sun.
