Where to stay in Syracuse
Syracuse hotels & accommodations
Sadly our stay was foreshortened because the hotel was closing for the winter. We had an accepted booking for 4 nights but had to leave after only 2 nights. Would certainly have wished to stay longer. The food was delicious and very well presented. The hotel is in a peaceful garden with a lovely poolside area. We would definitely wish to return for a longer stay...
Amazing place. Only a short pretty drive to Syracuse & local beach yet feel very remote. Resort standard extremely high. Will return
Waw! What a place...👍😘 An old but still beautiful hotel with lots of atmosphere. It takes you back in time, but at the same time takes you “upstairs”. Everything works, nice Staff, FANTASTIC location on old roman ruins and with a beautiful park - even thougt it is not in the center of Siracusa. Fantastic breakfast! Nice pool area, access to - though not free - nice p...
My stay was very comfortable at Hotel Posta. The room was very clean, nicely decorated and the strong A/C was a wonderful break from the summer heat. The hotel is conveniently located near the morning market and bridges to Ortigia so it is easy to find. Walking from the train station took about 15 minutes. It was also easy to walk to the center of Ortigia for dinner ...
Never have I walked into a hotel that costs Euro 200 per night (approx) and been disappointed by a bed before! It was a military camp bed! Not a proper base, not even big enough to fit the headboard. The floors were sticky. The shower head and taps were sticky. Out came the Dettol wipes - seriously. The hotel is in a great location directly overlooking the sea. The...
Architecture and ambience of the Hotel is unique for sure, well decorate 15th century palazzo. The location was also Great, beautiful sea views! The Church contiguous to the hotel (internal access) is also Fantastic! Rooms were comfortable and staff extremely friendly. Parking is a problem all over Ortigia Island as it is a ancient (Beautiful) design which obviously d...
We absolutely loved this property. It is beautiful, well-maintained and conveniently located just a few steps from the Parco Archeologico della Neapolis, the real attraction of Syracuse for any archaeology enthusiast. Our Deluxe King Room looked over the ancient Roman burial grounds and was spacious. The thick glass windows shielded all the street noises. The owner o...
I would recommend Hotel Livingston to anyone wishing to stay in Syracuse. The staff were extremely friendly and provided excellent guidance for exploring the area.
very comfortable and relaxing. however car is absolutely necessary in order to be able to see the city
A very nice modern hotel close to all sight seeing activities. Parking in front of the hotel, breakfast is good, room is very clean. I can recommend the hotel if you have the budget.
the building is historic and has been caringly restored with a high sense of tradition. guest rooms are small appartments with a small kitchen area and table and chairs. there is no evening hotel restarant but there are many restaurants in the area. reception is not 24 hours so new visitors expecting to check in after the early evening should telephone ahead to make...
Lovely place, friendly staff and perfect location.
Excellent service and great personal touch by Martina who is very helpful to all guests. Beautifully designed and very close to the heart of Ortigia. Breakfast wAs very well managed by her staff and I can recommend the place highly
Good location, reasonable price, clean and cozy room and most of all really kind owner
This is a B&B which is very centrally located, yet on a quiet street. The room & bed were comfortable. As we love to travel, we are unwilling to over pay for accommodations. This fit our needs. Owner Salvatore was available to us & went the extra mile to help us out. The only downside is that your view window faces the Bay & promenade (a double edged sword)...you will ...
Very friendly staff! Good location, ok breakfast but could have been more. And they didn't refill cupcakes/cakes (we woke up at 8ish one morning). Bed was squeaky and walls were very thin. I could hear the receptionist talking outside. But humungous bed! and clean!
As the stuffs are always in the reception desk, I could talk about stay, sights and more. Facilities are enough and useful especially bathroom. It has a big common space, so I stayed very satisfied.
We were pleasantly surprised by what a lovely boutique hotel this is. The breakfast options are abundant and the staff are very friendly. The rooftop has a much-welcomed view with ocean breeze. It's definitely worth a revisit.
The staff are kind and hospitable. I love the restaurant they recommended us to try the seafood soup. The room was clean and cozy. It's a shame that it was raining when we were in the town. Although we couldn't enjoy the breakfast at the roof in the morning, the B&B offered us an excellent breakfast in the room. Will definitely choose here when we come back again.
this hotel is lovely, it's decorated in baroque style with mosaic all over.. the room was clean with a lovely bathroom with jacuzzi bath and a balcony overlooking the sea.. it's soo closed to the sea that we could hear the waves breaking into the shore.. I heard many of the guests saying that this is the best hotel in Ortigia and we totally agree with that.. The spa (...
This is a simple hotel in a good location. Quite near the archaeological park witht he Greek Theatre - a highlight of Syracuse. Very helpful staff.
Nice Hotel in an old building. Our room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was delicious and when we wished something special, we got it. The city has a lot of interesting place: Greek theater, Archaeological Museum, Early Christian catacombs. There are small alleys, taverns in the old town Ortigia. It has also an ancient cathedral, which was earlier a Greek temple: ...
Lovely room and super value. Perfect for 4 adult friends
Positive - clean, large, nice room - king size bed - A/C working very well - large balcony with sitting (not all rooms have it) - free WiFi in the room - parking (free) available just 2 minutes by foot - just 10 - 15min. of walk to Theatro Greco and sightseeing - good value (we paid 65Eur/1 night, including breakfast) - very good check in procedure, very helpful and in...
it was overall a pleasant stay except for 2 things. they douse room freshener on the curtains to "aromatize" the room. and the smell is too strong and smells like they are trying to disguise something. another problem is the breakfast, which i generally good. but the coffee is at a self-service station with only one machine. i was there in may, not in the super hi...
The owner is warm & friendly. The breakfast is simple but rustic & local which I like. The location is relatively convenient as Ortiga is not that big but there are lots of restaurants nearby and one can hear lots of happy noises at night.
Near street, so very noisy in the midnight and 5:00 am in the next morning. The parking lot is out side of the old town, EUR10 for one day.
The staff was very friendly, the rooms clean, though there was no window in ours. The location is very convenient for those that want to do a sightseeing tour around the city. The best impression was breakfast. Nothing special in terms of food, but everything is fresh and tasty and one may eat outside on a spacious balcony overviewing an old street with church bells ch...
This is a very comfortable hotel situated on the tip of a peninsula with a great view across the bay to Siracusa. Enjoy the service of drinks on the beach or by the pool and be prepared to spend some time there just relaxing. If you just want a base to visit Siracusa, then this is probably not the best place to stay.

Great location, nice host, wonderful house! Five star recommendation!
We loved our comfortable room and the generous and friendly staff in this B and B. The immediate surroundings are not exactly charming and there are no shops or restaurants particularly close but we still liked staying here and would stay again if in Syracuse. The owner gave us a map and explained how to get around. The nearby museum was particularly impressive and wo...
Very welcoming and helpfull staff (owners?) despite they didn't speak much English (but they speak French what I don't). Clean, all appliances were working. The only disadvantage is the location in respect of getting to the town centre. You really need a car as it is really far to walk, public transport is not frequent and reliable and it is hard to get a taxi.
The host family was so nice. They picked me up from station and drove me there again when I left. Very cute and clean apartment in Ortygia, easy to go to the major tourist spots.
Beautiful location, the owners are really friendly, they picked us up at the bus stop, the house is very beautiful, in a very quiet area, the rooms are comfortable, and the terrace where you have breakfast is fantastic. We will return this summer. A big hello to owner and his wife.
Very friendly staff! Good location, ok breakfast but could have been more. And they didn't refill cupcakes/cakes (we woke up at 8ish one morning). Bed was squeaky and walls were very thin. I could hear the receptionist talking outside. But humungous bed! and clean!
Lovely room and super value. Perfect for 4 adult friends
The renovated flat in the centre of the luxury shopping street had a great balcony with a lovely view. We stayed in the "Menta" room - it was beautifully decorated with a very vintage-y feel with paintings and a bookcase filled with old books. We essentially had a sitting room, bedroom and a bathroom so much bigger than we expected. The host was incredibly friendly and...

The front desk receptionist at this family-run hotel spoke the best English of any hotel we've been at in Italy - but aside from that, she was friendly and made sure we were happy. The room was very nice, and the restaurant (also run by the family) was awesome. We will go back if we are in Sicily again. Location was also awesome - ample parking, and easy walk to the...
One of the best places I have ever stayed at. Huge terrace overlooking the water. Spotlessly clean. Everything you need in the kitchenette.

The hostess is SUPER kind and helpful. This place is great! Right on the mainland side of the bridge to the island; it's in a super good location.
We would stay here again when we come back to Ortigia.

The couple at this BnB are great. Little English but still very helpful in recommending places to go. The house, garden, patio and rooms are beautiful. Very private. The breakfasts they make are amazing (too big to eat all the food). The wireless internet is descent. Location is about 10 minutes drive from downtown Syracuse (definitely need a car). 5 minutes to the arc...
Quiet. Good access to parking for those with a car. Friendly hosts. Easy to walk into Ortigia, whilst convenient to get out of town to the numerous nearby beaches
i absolutely recommend acropoli to take the most out of your stay in siracusa. friendly staff, any question is welcome and they really want to make sure that you have a great time in sicily.
Good place but it is so narrow street. Comfortable. Kind staff

Great relaxing time , excellent pool. Quiet season so not all services were available. Good for relaxing in the sun . Beach was a short strol away. Pool was very large. Amazing grounds. Breakfast was quite basic, lots of cake and a small selection of cereals. All in all a good hotel for relaxing
This place js amazing from the minute you enter the gates you are treated like a king the staff are awesome . The room was great and the surrounds ( grassed and pool ateas )as well as the paved courtyards ate phenomenal. Breakfast is out of this world, my only criticism is that you cant drink the water but have to pay for it . Ive stayed in 5 star hotels everywhete in ...
We spent two days in the gorgeous junior suite and enjoyed every second of it. From the amazing breakfast to the friendly team - everything was perfect! Highly recommend!
Extremely comfortable and friendly small hotel in a convenient location on Ortigia to all the historical sites, great sea views and easy parking. The owners are wonderful hosts and make you very welcome. Great breakfast too!
If you visit the ortigia, the allegroitalia is the place for you to spend the night. Located in an right next to the seaside, it is in comfortable distance to the piazza duomo, fonte arethusa and the castello maniace yet far enough to escape the tourists and feel somewhat more private. My spacious room (Nr. 9) had a view on the open sea, a private balcony, a coffee m...

Fantastic property for a relaxing break. Service not bad when you get it as it lacks staff and polish.

Amazing town with a stone beach with high wall behind you. We love the charming Sicilian Baroque building in the old city.
A perfectly clean city with welcoming, friendly people comparing with other cities in Sicily. All major spots can be reached on foot or cycling.
no need to stay in Siracusa with Ortiga island being so close. The archaeological park has some interest.
We stayed in Ortigia but visited siracusa to see the greek and roman amphitheatres.also a big secondhand articles market.
