Salvador hotels & accommodations

The Comfortable bed & other homestyle amenities suited my independent lifestyle to a T. I only regret that the mold stained tile & ill placed toilet in the bathroom destroyed my eco-friendly sensibilities. I recommend that they be addressed by management! Otherwise, a great stay!

The hotel is located beside the escalator. It is a old building. The hotel has a good view to the ocean. It also close to lots sightseeing. The room is clean and quiet. The internet is slow and they never fix........I talked to the staffs 3 times in different days. They just kept saying will fix tomorrow. Until the day i left, the internet still not working. This was a really good hotel for business travel. It's located in easy walking distance between the beach and conference centre. The hotel itself was comfortable, clean and offered free wifi. The staff were friendly and clearly helpful, but their ability to help relied on our mutual effort in communication, as they only spoke Portuguese. We got by, however. It is quite...

This hotel is a real family hotel with the beach at the opposite of the street. Close to the Hotel you will find various places to eat or just to take a drink. Please watch your belongings!! I was sitting on a terrace one day and took out my sneakers under the table (it was hot). While talking a boy took one of my sneakers away and when I found out that I had only one ...

This hotel is in an excellent location. The rooms are lovely and big...depending in whether you prefer the view over the main square (bit noisier) or a street view (quieter), you may need to book your preference in advance. We had a two year old, but had the main square view and she seemed to sleep through...we had the Nana room, which had a small corridor that was qui...

Location is excellent, very close to the Pelhourino. You do have to negotiate a local road to reach there that is not the most pleasant, but we had no difficulties even after dark and there were always tourist police at the Pelourinho end - just follow advice and don't carry obvious jewelry etc. Room a little small but functional with reliable hot water and supercharged...

Accommodation had a colonial feel to it and was very clean. Our host was very welcoming and although she did not speak English we could manage in our basic French which is much better than our Portuguese! We had a room with an en-suite and a fridge, it was very pleasant although the bed was a bit too hard for our comfort. Breakfast was excellent fresh bread, eggs, f...

Nice and kind hotel service...... and good atmosphere! I can use "Internet Cafe(1F)" from 10:30p.m. to 9:00a.m. without fee and it is very useful to work. Especially I satisfied the price using mini bar because it is the cheapest that I have stayed other hotels(Sonesta, Golden Tulip, Vila Bahia, Calhua) in brazil.

I just stayed 1 night for budget, however, I got the all night of Salvador in the hotel...... beautiful building with a pretty terrace, nice breakfast and restaurant, kind service...... Plus, it is the best location to enjoy safe and fun night culture(dancing, sining and so on) I strongly recommended here to you!

hotel bahia de sol is highly recommended for those wanting a quiet stay in salvador but also near the prominent beaches. it is located in vitoria, a posh district in salvador, 10-15 minutes walk to porto de barra and farol de barra beaches which are one of many attractions in salvador. vitoria also hosts many museums and galeries, which is perfect for those who love to...

After checking in I notified reception that my room safe wasn´t working. After SIX reminders and having waited EIGHT hours they finally fixed the Problem. On the second day the A.C. broke down. It wasn´t repaiared, nor was I offered another room. Staff at reception totally ignorant and fully incompetent. Won´t be staying there again, ever.

The room was looked a bit different than the photo, but was comfortable enough for sleeping. The staff was nice and helpful. The breakfast had a good variety of food, but was half empty both days I arrived, not to mention all the tables were filled with dirty dishes. I think they just need more help during the busier times to keep up with demand.

We scored down because of the whole breakfast experience ... Hospitality you expect a smile in the morning ? If not a good morning / greeting in any language ! ... Everything seemed too much trouble for the lady at breakfast ? No bowls or milk for cereals .... An effort to refill coffee pot ... Maybe a TV or music for some background in a room with now Windows and echo...

Its in a great area with easy access to the BARS AND CLUBBING AREA. The Hostel and its staff are exceptional. It provides everything that you need in accommodation. Luxury hotels in Salvador

Very nice and quiet hotel in a bohemian neighborhood in Salvador. It was a bit difficult to find and get to by car due to the many road construction sites all around (Nov.2015). The hotel provided parking which was a plus. Breakfast was excellent with a combination of buffet and a la carte. The rooms are nice but not awesome. We would not hesitate to come back. TIP: we...

More about Salvador
Discover the Vibrant Spirit of Salvador Brazil
Salvador, Brazil, is a city that pulsates with life, culture, and history. Known for its rich African heritage, Salvador offers a unique blend of traditions that manifest in its music, dance, and culinary delights. The city's streets are alive with the sounds of axé and samba, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the local rhythm. From the colorful facades of the Pelourinho district to the vibrant markets filled with handmade crafts, every corner tells a story. Salvador is not just a destination; it’s an experience that captures the essence of Brazilian culture.
As you wander through the cobblestone streets, you will encounter the warmth of the locals, often referred to as “soteropolitanos.” Their hospitality is as rich as the city's history, which dates back to its founding in 1549. The influence of African, Portuguese, and Indigenous cultures is evident in the architecture, festivals, and everyday life. Make sure to visit the historic churches and museums that dot the city, such as the stunning Ordem Terceira Sao Domingos Gusmao church, which showcases the intricate baroque style that defines much of Salvador's architectural landscape.
Moreover, Salvador is famous for its annual festivals, the most notable being the Carnaval. This grand celebration transforms the city into a massive party, where samba dancers, musicians, and revelers take to the streets. The energy is contagious, and it's a must-see for anyone visiting during this time. But even outside of Carnaval, Salvador's cultural calendar is packed with events that celebrate its diverse heritage, making it a year-round destination for culture enthusiasts.
When to Experience Salvador's Best Vibes
Timing your visit to Salvador can significantly enhance your experience. The city enjoys a tropical climate, making it a year-round destination. However, the best time to visit is between November and March. During these months, the weather is warm and sunny, perfect for exploring the city’s beautiful beaches like Itapua Beach and Stella Maris Beach. This period also coincides with various local festivals, including the famous Festa de Iemanjá in February, where locals pay homage to the goddess of the sea.
While the summer months (December to February) are peak tourist season, it’s essential to book accommodations in advance, especially if you plan to attend Carnaval. The city comes alive with music, dance, and parades, creating an electrifying atmosphere that’s hard to resist. If you’re looking to avoid the crowds but still enjoy pleasant weather, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons of April to June or September to October. These months offer a more relaxed vibe while still providing opportunities to experience Salvador's culture and attractions.
Be mindful of the rainy season, which typically runs from April to July. Although rain showers can be frequent, they are often brief and followed by sunshine. If you don’t mind a little rain, this can be an excellent time to explore Salvador at a more leisurely pace, with fewer tourists around. Regardless of when you choose to visit, Salvador's charm and vibrancy will leave a lasting impression.

Speaking a few basic phrases in Portuguese can go a long way in building rapport with the locals. Phrases like “obrigado” (thank you) and “por favor” (please) are appreciated and can make interactions more enjoyable.
