Where to stay in Recife
Recife hotels & accommodations
We liked our stay at the Mar Hotel. The room was nice and clean. The daily breakfast offers a huge choice for all kinds of travellers. The staff was helpfull and supported us with excellent informations. The price/value ratio was also excellent for what we got.
Very clean and comfortable option close to the airport. A taxi to the airport is R$10 and there are always taxis outside.
We arrived in the middle of the night in this hotel. The staff at the reception (as well as the other staff in the hotel) didn't speak a word of English, which made check-in a one hour process. During our stay the swimming pool was closed due to maintenance which was a big disappointment since you can't swim in Recife because of the sharks and we purposely chose a hote...
I enjoyed my stay at the Cosmopolitan. For a budget hostel, it offered everything necessary as a base to visit Recife and Olinda. The staff was pleasant and helpful with maps and questions. The breakfast was a lovely spread with fresh squeezed tropical juices, homemade cakes, fruit, sandwiches and breads. The grounds are set in a small garden with pet rabbits, there is ...
Recife has two main beaches - Boa Viagem and Piedade. Most tourists go to Boa Viagem. If you prefer Piedade (more locals, less frenzied) then Blue Tree is a good choice. Convenient location, not far from restaurants (Sucata, Tio Dada, etc.) and the Guarrarapes mall. Pool is small but nice. Sauna and other services were closed when we were there (July is off season), so...
Comfortable room and friendly staff. Nice breakfast
Very short but peaceful & restful.
The Transamerica Prestige -Beach Class International is truly a first class hotel and undoubtedly the best one in Recife! Its employees truly care for the guests.
Awful hostel. Terrible location, staff were disinterested and unhelpful, place was dirty especially the bathrooms, breakfast consisted of old bread covered with flies. Also the place was full of mosquitos which made it even more unpleasant. The worst hostel I have ever stayed in and I am well travelled.
WIFI IS GREAT, CLOSE TO THE BEACH, NO HOT WATER FOR SHOWER, AC IS OK, NOBODY SPEAK ENGLISH....
Awful- had to make the best of it- on morning of check out found leak from window that soaked.
good place with good people, however, wifi is a problem...
The hotel is great, and staff very friendly. They had a very annoying problem with internet, so that my team couldn't work properly or at all, which caiused serious problems. Other than that, it's clean and good value for money.
This is a good commercial hotel ideally located for the airport and a short walk from the beach and various shops. The rooms are cramped but very functional for a short term stay whilst in transit to another location. Wifi very good and fast, rooms clean, service and information good, taxis very cheap to the airport. A very hot water shower, often unusual in smaller Br...

I would recommend visiting the old city of Recife. Ciuade Antiga. The entire neighborhood is an open museum with beautiful colonial architecture, and the first synagog in S America.
