Miri hotels & places to stay

Been staying on a couple of other hotels in miri before this, i have to say this is the most comfortable stay ever. We booked an apartment, spacious and clean space. Breakfast was good, they even considered kids corner(this is not available on other hotels we stayed before). Staff was friendly, they don’t made us feel guilty for taking up the space longer than normal customers( as we need to feed 2 kids as well). Overall will definitely come back in the near future

For me this hotel is the best option in Miri for business travellers. It is a reasonable price for the room and facilities and is easily among, if not the best hotel in Miri. My only issue with the place was the smell of stale smoke in the room on the first night I stayed, which was probably due to some filthy person smoking in the room previously (even if it was a non-smoking floor). The smell had dissipated after the first night and was no longer noticeable for the rest of my stay. Positives are the breakfast; good selection of Western and Malay foods, enough to keep everyone happy, the bed; was large and comfy and guarantees a good night's sleep and the modern shower has plenty of hot water at good pressure. There's also a bum gun which after living in Thailand for 20 years gets my seal of approval.

Pros: air conditioning is powerful, basement parking well lit and abundant, spacious room, comfy bed, decent selection of tv channels Cons: bathroom could use some updating, aircon had rattling noise which was somewhat resolved by staff, room could use more lighting, tv screen too small Overall for the price and location, we were satisfied. It easily beats some of the newer miri hotels in terms of its maintenance. Will definately stay at Mega Hotel again.

I have been traveling to Miri quite number of times and stayed at many hotels in Miri. I would say Meritz has the potential of becoming the most popular hotel in Miri, given time. The room interior was nice for Superior Room, complete with flat screen LCD TV. The bathroom was also nicely design with dedicated shower place. This hotel also connected to the Bintang Mall where you can find variety of food outlets including Starbucks or go for shopping at Parkson.

I originally hesitated in booking rooms at this hotel when they were described to have no outside view. However, they have cleverly designed these rooms to face an indoor alley to alleviate the discomfort of those with phobia of a totally windowless room. With good location, available parking spaces and clean rooms at affordable rates, Imperial Palace Hotel is one of my favourite Hotel in Miri.

Have everything nearby, just walking distance. Very recommended to whom travel without transport. You can easily walk to nearby facilities like dobi 24 hours, grocery store and 7E, massage place, mall, malay restaurant. And the hotel itself also have malay restaurant. For long distance you just easily take grab, it's cheap. To miri airport it's take RM15-RM20. The room floor 3, 327 just perfect for solo travelers like me. The shower rain very strong i like it. For those travelling with family i recommend take bigger room. i can stay here for a month, that how i can conclude it. Stop reading, you want cheap and the best? it is ano hotel. Mohd Zaidi Hamzah

Possibly the best small hotel I have ever stayed at in Malaysia in my short 25 years living here. I have travelled the whole country and not run a cross a small boutique hotel quite as nice as this one. The attention to detail in the rooms is astonishing - courtesy lights and vanity mirrors in the bathroom, all the amenities of a 5-Star hotel, impeccable linen and towels, and plenty of hot and cold water. The rooms are not overly large but they are comfortable. Mine had a nice recliner with foot rest which made evening reading enjoyable. Coffee and tea set and mini-fridge were tastefully laid out, a decent desk with desk lamp made laptop work comfortable, sockets exactly where one needs them for charging were all over the place - by the bed for my phone, by the desk for my laptop. The food in the restaurant was tasty and very reasonably priced. The coffee was superb :) The hotel decor was extremely tasteful and inviting, and I can't wait to go back to Miri!

Excellent customer service and personal attention from the reception team and Sales Manager Jeffery. The rooms are very spacious, the AC was silent and always at a comfortable temperature, and the furniture leaves me relaxed the moment I enter the room.For this low price the mini-bar is stocked. My business partner had his own room and we both felt we've slept the best at the Grand Palace over all hotels in Miri. Breakfast was lovely (they had separate cooked vegetable dishes) and the waitress and chef do pay attention to the details and quality. The restaurant is really popular with the upper-class crowd in the evenings and weekends. Everyone here speaks excellent English and smile. If you would like a inexpensive taxi driver who speaks aEnglish and knows the place well (airport transfers, Miri-Brunei or Miri to Bintulu, short and long-distance tourist trips) I would suggest Mr Ting (+60 16 852 1379). Lots to see in Miri and lots of secret places such as Lambir National Park etc

My second time staying here. It's a great hotel for those traveling to other destination, free secured basement parking (and I love this!) for those with cars. This hotel management has done great job in making guests' stay very comfortable. Airport is just a walk over but free shuttle bus is still available anytime. But breakfast was rather basic simple and Restaurant Mak staff needs a little more training. Overall it's an excellent stay for us! Do maintain this standard and quality in years to come because JinHold is my favorite Miri hotel now.

My stay ( so many I can't recall) has always been really great. Its so no-frills because the staffs from the front desk, security, maintenance, room service, porters & everyone at Ajang are so friendly and efficient. Checking in or out is a breeze. All always there ready to assist in anything. The wifi is good. The security whether manned or systems are adequate. The rooms( all the different ones that I have stayed) are impeccably clean with all the necessities any traveller would required. The surroundings are safe and convenient with walking distance to most shops and eateries. I rented a car and parking is not a problem. To conclude, Ajang Hotel is the place ( maybe the only place) for me to stay whenever I drop by Miri. Its one of those really underrated hotels in Malaysia...

Took a short break to Marriott Hotel in Miri, check in was efficient, staff attentive, unpacked and went str8 to pool area, was busy but staff went to fetch me a sunbed, even rearranged the Sunbrella in order to shade me from the sun, asking did I require any refreshment at the same time, very helpful! Room was spacious, internet was fast (read elsewhere it was slow), although I really dont think we ought to be paying extra for this service nowadays, at least not in such a well known establishment. Toilet / bathroom, very clean, well stocked (also read elsewhere there were minimal sundries), spare toothbrush etc for anyone who may have forgotten such things. Never did eat in the hotel, but quite a few were munching out around the ppol area, and all seemed quite satisfied, one youngster next across fro me was eating a plateful I could barely have handled, so, looks also like the food is good. Pool clean, big, had waterslide for the kids. I was on my lonesome, but, would not hesitate to recommend for any sort of traveller, kids or not. Allin all, very enjoyable stay, would return in a heartbeat.

This is my 3rd leisure trip to Miri and the best place of stay! Very friendly staff even the guards and the cleaners, very comfy beds, not to mention their spacious bedrooms. Even though hall, kitchen and dining table has no partition, accomodates 5 of us comfortably. The only cons is when we use the washing machine, 2nd bathroom seems to clog at the shower but somehow that doesnt deter us from keep coming back again (but please look into this issue). Very peaceful surrounding even tho' they placed us on the lowest ground. Sauna that works very well, (regret that we did not find time for steam bath) wifi very good too and very complete kitchen facilities even tho we did not cook, haha.

This hotel is so beautiful. The location and the layout is stunning. I had a lovely time here. It was nice after a day of tour and trekking and caving to come back to this luxury. I loved the lobby area heaps and the furniture was so unique too. The staff was wonderful. The only little setback (If I could call it one) is that there is no wifi in the rooms . But with such stunning scenery all around who needs wifi? Food & especially drinks is a bit on the pricey side so it is best to get a buffet breakfast with the room. But having said that there are cheaper options at the Park HQ. But the food is of better quality at the hotel so I didn't really mind paying more for food at the hotel. A lot of food including the fish, meat, fruits is flown in from Miri so when you take that into consideration it really is worth it especially for the comfort this place offers.

at first, I'm lost when try go to this place since google maps told me to go to another area. but luckily I can find it then. so don't worry about google maps after this. I already update it for you guys to find this place. I have to say this place2stay is much better than kuching place2stay.. everything is kust fine. below this place2stay got emart for shopping. also have alot of shoplot at the same area. got KFC, chinese food store & many more. event it far from miri city center. but this place near miri airport. I recommend this for everyone who visited miri..

strategic Location and easy access to city centre.. about 10min from the hotel and about 15mins from Miri airport.. it would nice if the hotel give free light breakfast such as sandwiches, instant noodle in cups or bread slice accompanied by kaya and butter since the instant coffee is provided in the room.. (suggestions only ) stayed in this hotel about 3 Times. -Telajan Anyi-

Our stay was quite short just 4 days and 3 nights. The hotel is just about 20 minutes taxi ride from the airport. Check-in process was pretty quick. After my husband presented our Agoda voucher, we were attended to right away. Took us about 15 to complete the check-in formalities. The room size was just enough for us, a Southeast Asian couple. Western guests may find the room small for their standard but in our case, it was ok. The best thing about the hotel is the LOCATION. Ming Café, the famous hang-out of tourists and visitors in Miri is just a leisurely 3 minute walk away. The hotel is also just across the what appears to be the tallest building (also a hotel) in the city which can serve as point of reference in case you want move around on foot. No need to remember street names, just look move towards the direction of the tallest building and you can return to the hotel pretty easily. Lots of restaurants nearby, there's one on the building's ground floor. The famous Shanghai Seafood Restaurant is on the adjacent building. There's a taxi stand right across the street. Taxis in Miri don't move around the city hunting for passengers, so the location of the hotel is again a big plus. There is also a large mall-The Boulevard Mall which is about 10 minutes walk away. Overall, my husband and myself liked our stay in this hotel.

8th June, 2019: On the 4th of Raya celebration, I booked Merdeka Suites Hotel for my family members because the hotel is Apartment type facilities. Rooms: And the unit consist of 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms with attached bathroom) and spacious living room with kitchens facilities, complete with freezer, cooking tools, electric kettle for making hot water, there were cabinets like store, dry area next to kitchen, balcony. Cleanliness: overall the apartment rooms is clean, including bathroom and all area. The facilities itself also clean and so convenience. Service: Friendly and helpful staff, car parking so convenient and plenty. Deposits RM100 (return upon checkout). Overall, the hotel is very suitable for family, groups & even couple. In term of price, the hotel rates are so reasonable, the cheapest among apartment style hotel around Miri, can say with 5 stars quality. I fully recommended to all especially with families (the 3 bedrooms apartment unit is the best choice).

My friend and I stayed at the Benarat Lodge during our trip in Mulu. Overall, it was a decent lodging (think of Hostel style). Our guide, Duncan fetched us from the airport to the lodge which was situated quite deep within Mulu and around a 10 mins to 15 mins drive from the Mulu National Park. As the lodge was eco-friendly, the generators only run from 6:00pm to 12 midnight daily. The rest of the time the amenities such as Water Heater, Shower, Lights and Fan were solar-powered. The staff at the lodge were undeniably friendly and very accommodating despite not having any WIFI, unless you purchase the local SIM card. Our booking included meals from a nearby family-run restaurant next to the lodge. My friend and I wanted to purchase a bottle of water at the restaurant but it was closed for the evening and we decided to get the water the next day. However, the lodge's manager personally handed us the water at our rooms just a few minutes after we left the restaurant.

I went to Miri with my mom on our trip to Bario and stayed over here. The location was a little remote compared to town centre, but it was okay as we were there for only 2 nights. Good thing about this location that it has laundry, restaurant and convenient store just downstairs. Just what we need. The location is very quiet and away from traffic to have a good night sleep. The room is clean and huge and bed is very comfortable. Shower is also good pressure and with hot water. I would recommend this hotel to every guest who wants to have a good night sleep in Miri.

We stayed at this hotel for 3days. The room was beatiful, staff was kindness, hot/cold water surplied, and we can watch many movies! I think this hotel is the best hotel in Miri city except for luxury hotels. Actually, after we stayed another hotel in Miri, we booked this hotel again!!Internet enviroonment is also no problem!!(Sorry sometimes disconnect..) Big mall is nearby.

New Hotel in Lutong Area in Miri very close to the Sarawak Shell Office.Recently opened, rooms are very clean and comfortable, bathroom a nice size not too small. Superior room had a king sized bed. Free Wifi was not yet installed so no internet access.A lot of restaurants nearby the area with a good variety.A little bit noisy as it is near a shopping complex after 12am it quietens down.The area is a bit out of the way and you will need a car to travel to Miri Town. Ample parking bays available around the hotel.Its about 20mins to the Brunei Border at Sungai Tujuh immigration checkpoint. Had a good nights rest bed was comfortable and a good size as the hotel is fairly new no big issues with it.The rate is quite reasonable for this budget hotel.
