"Stunning location and grounds, room was spotless and warm. Arrived roughly at 7pm after a 4 hr drive, and room was difficult to get to as no one showed me to where it was, as it was at other end of the hotel. Bistro staff where polite and curtious, food was excellent. Booked a double room for my nights stay, ended up being put in what I would call a family room, with double and single bed. My room had no view only a stone wall of the boiler room. Plus the noise of the boiler droned all night long just outside my window. Breakfast was plentiful with a full range of hot and cold food, fruits, cereals etc. Plenty of time to check out as it is 11am before you have to check out. "

"This was not only one of the top class B&B’s I have ever visited it had every amenity that you could require for an overnight stay provided for you in the room. It had plenty of plug points and usb points in easy to reach places around the room. A smart tv with internet, Netflix and all the channels you could require. Super bed and the most comfortable pillows I ever came across. The host Dan was always available and breakfast was a wonderful spread cooked fresh to your requirements. I would have to give Avlon House top praise. "

"Stopped here for one night to break our journey to a family wedding as we had our grandchild with us. It was a busy Saturday night in the bar but the owner still had time to come out to us, show us to our room and best of all, moved his car out of the secure entry to let us park ours as we had a lot of wedding stuff that was on view in the car. Rooms were very clean, comfortable and the beds made up with fresh , crisp linen. Breakfast was beautiful the next morning. We would highly recommend Ewing's to anyone wanting to stay a night or 2 in Carlow. "
