CBD hotels & places to stay

Traveling to Singapore from West coast USA is 17 hours nonstop. My wife and I arrived in Singapore early and jet lagged and came to this hotel at around 0800 to drop off our luggage. We planned to grab breakfast around the area, as many restaurants and convenience stores were directly below the hotel. Then, the unexpected happened and the lovely staff was able to accommodate us with an early check-in. Since we were able to check in early we had at it with the breakfast buffet included in our booking. I highly recommend you book with the breakfast buffet for incredibly delicious food and a large spread to choose from. As for the facilities I was blown away by the overall design of the hotel having a very classy/luxury yet artistic appeal to it. I used the 24/7 gym every morning and it was always stocked with towels and cups for the water dispenser. For the room, it was large enough for my wife and I are our luggage and we loved how spacious the bathroom was. I absolutely enjoyed my stay at this hotel and I hope you experience what I’ve experienced.

Long story short, I just couldn't bring myself to sleep in a 1 star dorm at Bugis so I checked out, bringing my two friends out with me. (I didn't want to share a room with three other men as they were it of rooms, nor did I want to share a toilet with strangers). Booked a last minute room on agoda. The three of us checked in at 12am. The receptionist was friendly and hospitable. Didn't look down upon the three sweaty girls who had made their way from Bugis to Carlton City with their backpacks behind them. She spoke to us politely, not condescending unlike some other 4&5 star hotels I've been to. She didn't even charge us extra for the third person, though prepared to pay another bomb. The room is spacious and clean. The best part was the immense water pressure that came down upon us when we took our shower after a long day. The only problem we had the next morning was to find that the water heater wasn't working. We didn't have a chance to tell the manager as we had to check out early anyway. It's a walking distance away from hipster cafes to which we managed to cafe-hop. All in all, my experience there, albeit short, was unforgettable.

i got the executive room at a cheap last minute rate and it was fantastic and great value for money. the location is good and cheap amenities can all be found across the road. bathroom is pretty big which includes bathtub and shower area. room is clean and well designed. almost all toiletries are provided, including 2 bath robes. free wifi and lan access is also provided. mattress is abit uncomfortable though. as the location is at cbd area it's highly recommended for business travelers.

I had a short weekend staycation there, and I'd have to say that it is one of the best staying experience I've ever had. Especially for such an urban hotel right in the heart of Singapore. The place breaths eco-friendly; literally, there are trees on every level of the building which makes the hotel a sight to be seen from both the inside and outside. The location is perfect for business travelers working in the CBD and breakfast at the Lime restaurant is awesome. Considering it is a new hotel, you might want to make sure that you give a full address to your cab driver, as there are two Park Royal Hotels in Singapore.

this was our second hotel and when you move from a 3-4 star accommodation to a 5 star place in marina bays, you really notice the difference. this is a luxurious residence hotel for executives and business people. you will not find small children running around making noises here, which makes it great if you are seeking a getaway with a peace of mind, or if you are looking for a romantic time like we were. the room was amazing. the room was full of quality items and facilities. shower gel and shampoo set are loccataine branded. the room size is huge. the bed was superb! you will only feel like bringing the bed home with you! the swimming pool was amazing. it was like a giant fish tank on the 19th floor. we looked like giant fishes swimming in it! it felt like an infinity pool. in fact it can be considered an infinity pool. best thing is you will find your space without children playing around in the waters. they had a great gym that is huge! there was also a lounge with coffee beans from france, chocolates and biscotti from france too! really quiet which was what i was looking for. the staff was amazing too, they really know how to manage a hotel and even the way they talked were really professional. you feel like a high up executive when you stay in this place! i loved it and wouldn't mind staying for a whole month!

I’ve stayed at several boutique hotels in Singapore but nothing compared to Ann Siang House. The best part is the unit is so big! I booked Deluxe room and it was almost twice a size of any usual deluxe room in Singapore (even bigger than much more expensive Park Royal’s room). I love all small details in Ann Sianh House, from the tastefully designed furniture to ambient music in hallway that enhanced the pleasant experience staying in Ann Siang House. Staff’s hospitality is commendable, always smile and ready to help. Breakfast is quite decent, not the best if you compare to 5 star hotel but already much better to similar boutique hotels that don’t offer breakfast. The way I see, this breakfast is an additional value so I appreciate the extra mile to provide breakfast! I was lucky I got to check the newly opened Pandora’s Garden that is located within the premise and sell amazing rose wine. Sound insulation can be improved, so a watch out for light sleeper. I highly recommend Ann Siang House to everyone especially if you are looking for spacious unit in SG (which considered a luxury) with a reasonable price and excellent location! I’d definitely return!! 💙

The place literally stunned us. Even though its position is between many skyscrapers and there’s no open view (at least from our window), rooms were spacious and absolutely comfortable. To be honest, we were not expecting this degree of cleanliness. We also tried some items for breakfast, with a good choice of delicious options. The place is walking distance from Marina Bay, which is always nice to visit both during the day and in the evening.

I booked a deluxe room at the new Oasia Hotel for a small break from our routine here in Singapore. I've watched the building go up and I was curious as to what the inside looked like, and was also intrigued by the hotel's "club". Overall it was a 4 star experience - here's what I liked and what could be improved. The good: The staff were perfect and were kind enough to send us chocolates. That's always good. The room was on the smaller side, but everything clicks into place and was finished with a good attention to detail. The bed was comfy and clean. I liked the light switches on both sides of the bed. The shower was powerful and the towels were so nice and fluffy. The gym looked great. The eggs and juice at breakfast were nice. The average: We booked the room for half price, as they were having an opening deal. Even at half of the normal price, I felt like we did not quite receive the level of luxury expected from a luxury hotel. It felt like a nice business hotel. The pool felt pretty small (which can't be changed) and cold (which might be a good thing here in SG). The keycards won't work in the elevators or doors unless you press them all the way against the reader. Breakfast was $20 each, and wasn't particularly good. Either the milk or the coffee tasted funky - I'd hope for some tastier stuff at a place like this. I'd save your money for some of the good cafes nearby. Overall, I would recommend this for business travelers. Perhaps regular life in Singapore has pampered me so much that my expectations for luxury are too high.

Having stayed in W Hotel Sentosa for two nights before moving to AMOY, this new hotel built on a heritage site is a refreshing experience. Away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD, the staff are super friendly and helpful. Highly recommended to people whom are bored of standard and common hotels. Location is very good. Walking distance to Club street, Chinatown and few minutes by taxi to Marina Bay Sands. The new MRT LINE passes through the area which will be open by Dec 2013. The Telok Ayer station will be open right opposite the hotel facade.
