“Horrendous”
Arriving in Siargao for the first time this place was very disappointing after the wonderful reviews of the island we had heard. After now being on the island for ten days and falling in love with it , I do not want anyone else to fall in the trap of staying here and not getting a chance to see how special this island is. As stated online there are many opprtunitys to do he activities he island offers. However when we asked he staff what we could do here they said unless we were professional surfers and able to surf at Pacifico beach there was nothing for us here. We fell for what was written online suggesting fishing trips, island hopping, the lagoon. However this is not offered from the hotel but only offered on the island 1 hour drive plus away. The staff were very unhelpful saying that unless we rented there scooter we couldn’t do anything here as we were not able to get any public transport. We tried to research online what we could do to make the most of the island but there is no WiFi and no service any where around. Fortunately the van that had dropped us here had waited around as he knew that we wouldn’t want to stay here as most people leave. After paying 1500 peso to get here from the airport we had to pay this again to take us somewhere else. We had paid upfront 45 pound for 4 nights and were refused any kind of refund. We even asked just one one night to be returned or even the cleaning fee but the staff were just unhelpful. Considering we were paying over ten pound a night this place ia very very very over priced, with showers and toilets 100 metres away from the bedroom which only had a fan. Please do not stay here and have your thoughts of Siargao ruined when it is an amazing place!
