Bugis hotels & places to stay

I never wanted to spend much on a hotel, especially in Singapore, because mostly I will be out shopping or sight seeing or dining. Usually a hotel with this price range is old, dusty and not strategically located, but this one is different. This hotel presents a hipster/rustic design that is warm, calming, friendly and welcoming. The overall design gives a positive and good vibes. The receptionists are youngsters that are very helpful and friendly. The Indian lady that handled my check in was very clear and thorough explaining little details of the hotels. I was able to get an early check-in about 1030 in the morning, while the usual check-in time is at 2 PM. With your room, you will get a mobile device which you could use to make international call and mobile internet for free, and you can carry it around with you. Too bad I've already bought sim card from the airport, I just knew it when the reception lady explained it to me. I ended up didn't using it, but this is a big plus point. The room I was staying was tiny, only 12m squared, but it is very efficiently planned and designed, so I did not feel cramped. There was no wardrobe, which safe some space, instead there was only a rack with hangers, this I think is a smart move, because I never used hotel's wardrobe anyway. Talking about cleanliness, it was spotless clean, I knew this because I did not have any allergic reaction. My only dislike was the AC, it blows straight on to the head, and there was no control of the swing direction from the remote. But, the room itself is already pretty cool without the AC at night in the hot Singaporean weather, so I ended up not using the AC. You have ice and water dispenser in the hallway, so you can refill your water bottle. The door was not sound proofed enough, so you can hear persons talking or running in the hallway, but it was not a big deal for me. Location wise, it is not dead center in the heart of Bugis. It was 12 minutes walk to Bugis Junction. However, it is

Hotel Mi is really near with Bencoolen MRT, and just take few minutes to walk to Bugis Street. The staff were very polite and kind, they gave full information of anything we ask. The room was very clean though a little bit small, but I think it's the standard room size in Singapore. The best facility (in my opinion) they have was the "handy" phone, it provides internet while I travel around, and I could make a call to my local friend anytime, very convenient!

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights with wife and 5 y.o. daughter. When we mentioned about the V Hotel Bencoolen, the taxi driver didn't know where it's at. Check in process was quick. Check in time is after 11 am and checkout time is before 1 pm. We arrived there at 10 am, so we kept our luggage and went for a walk. There were 2 convenience stores nearby: Cheers (next to the hotel lobby) and 7 Eleven (less than 50 meters to the left of the hotel lobby). There was also a Kopi Tiam food center within less than 5 minutes walking through an alley. More local food can be found at Waterloo Street, which is located behind the hotel building. Even more food stalls can be found near the apartment complex across Sri Krishnan temple. For those who love shopping, Bugis+, Bugis Junction, and the famous Bugis Street are just within 10 minutes walking. There was an entrance to Bras Basah MRT station (Circle Line/Yellow Line) at Waterloo Street. Another MRT station alternative is the Bugis MRT station (East-West Line/Green Line) which is located underneath Bugis Junction. Lots of people complain about the room size in this hotel. But since I've traveled many times to Singapore, I found that this size is very common at any hotel at this price. What I care most in Singapore hotels are hotel facilities (such as free WiFi in room), distance to public transport, and abundance of food choices. V Hotel Bencoolen, in my perspective, wins them all.

switched to this hotel from another little hotel in bugis may have cause the unexpected good feeling on ibis. the hotel is a well managed, under hotel group chain. and i received a million-smile and helpful service first at check-in. the room was not big, but compared to my previous expereince, it was fantastic! the queen bed is clean and firm, pillows (4 of them) are with different height and hardness. wifi was free but there was no hbo on tv (whereas my previous little hotel got it!) the bathroom is expectedly small, but acceptable. very clean with amentities (execpt toothpaste). one problem was the shower screen door. it didn't close properly (it would reopen itself) and even i used something to jam it close, there was still a considerable gap between the screen and the wall. water was everywhere. breakfast costed you and they served you with a nice buffet. nothing fancy but well presented. location was perfect. it is just 2 blocks away from bugis mrt, and there was a huge 7-11 store right next to it. definitely recommended.

Booked a King bedroom for 2 nights and absolutely enjoyed the stay. Room is spacious and clean, and comes with great view of the hotel's vicinity. Love that the material used for the design of the hotel corridors and room is mainly wood, which gives off a very comfortable feeling. Hotel lobby is located at level 25, and while the desk counters are not very prominent, the staff are very efficient and helpful in providing any assistance. Breakfast spread is tasty, and the gym is well equipped too! Superb location that is linked to Bugis MRT and shopping malls as well. Overall one of the best staycations I've ever had in Singapore. Will definitely come back again!

Disclaimer - During my stay, the higher floors, swimming pool and jacuzzi were not available, and the carpark was undergoing paint works as well, hence, my review of the facilities were based more on the room amenities instead. Having been away from Singapore for awhile, decided to book a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city to relax and unexpectedly came across Mecure Bugis which was due to open just after my arrival. Check in was a breeze and the counter staff (Mr Jay) was friendly and ever accommodating; done in less than 3 mins. I had booked the loft and was eager to compare it with another establishment which is popularly known for this set-up, and I am happy to report, I honestly preferred Mercure's loft. My review will be done as a comparison between the two. You step into an immediately wider walkway in Mercure's loft, neatly arranged amenities, tall windows which let in ample light, and high ceiling as you would expect of a loft layout. Everything was in a tidy and organised manner, and the sofa rolls out into a bed to laze about on the lower level. The shower and potty are located next to each other while the basin is opposite them. Moving upstairs, the bed was nice and soft that your body would sink into, with comfortable fluffy pillows to get a good night's sleep, there is another TV upstairs as well. Reading lights are installed should you be one of those needing an escape by delving into a good book before a night's rest. Overall, I'd say that it is a value for money stay, considering that everything is brand new, smells fresh and the location is good for foods, shopping or even travelling into town(Bugis MRT is 1 stop from City Hall to drop off and transit to Orchard). Thumbs up!

Booked a junior suite. Had to wait for 45mins after 2.30pm for check in, but the staff offered a late check-out for the delay. Room was big for a junior suite, just that the door to the bedroom does not have a stopper. The toilet drainage system is a little weak due to poor gradient but it was already feedback to the reception and they knew about this issue. Swimming pool was pretty decent, at the top floor, jacuzzi was good too. The hotel location is very good, close to bugis, bras basah, dhoby ghaut mrt lines. 7 eleven is just next door as well as a food court. Overall was a pleasant stay, would recommend friends there!

My stay in Singapore was nothing but memorable thanks to the Hotel I choose, which was just few minutes away from the MRT Station. Anyone can take the train from the Airport itself and get off at “Nicole Highway Station” and the Hotel is just opposite. Bugis street was just two stations away and there were lot of eating places and shopping malls close by. Reaching Marina Bay and Santosa Island was just a peace of cake as the trains were available all the time. The only issue we had during our stay was to find a table for breakfast. The restaurant is not enough for the number of guests. Other than that everything else was good and comfortable. I’d definitely recommend this hotel to my family and friends and it’s very reasonable, clean and convenient....!

So glad I took the Agoda Secret deal and was introduced to this great gem of a hotel in Bugis. Great value for money. The staff was excellent--friendly, attentive and very helpful. I was even upgraded to Premier room with Queen size bed. Buffet breakfast has delicious variety of Asian and Western choices. The room and bed are very comfortable and spacious. Would be good for a staycation but I was out all day. Very good home base. Just 1 block from Bugis Junction and MRT. Great location to walk around Bugis area (many food choices) and easy walk to our meeting venue. I also liked that the hotel was beside the St. Joseph Church. I would definitely stay here again if I get a good price again.

Location: Not very near to MRT station as compared to other hotels in the area, but still within 10-15 minute of walking distance. The bus stop directly in front of the hotel is served by buses on out-bound routes. If you are heading to other parts of the Downtown, you have to walk to the opposite for in-bound buses. Surroundings- There is a 7-Eleven convenience store nearby. The areas around the hotels have lots of pubs, beerhouses and restaurants. Staff- Staff was very friendly. They will guide every guest through every single facilities available in the hotel. Bed- The pod is very wide to fit in a person and a backpack. A foldable table is included for things such as a laptop, and there is a reading light for added convenience. There is also a privacy screen at the entrance of the pod. However, when the room lights are dimmed at night, anyone from outside the bunk can see through the privacy screen if the reading light is switched on. Toilet- The toilets and bathrooms are unisex, and as there were only 3 bathrooms at my floor, there could be some queue at 'peak' hours. Food- The hotel provides buffet breakfast to all guests. Items available are limited (as compared to conventional hotels) but more than what was expected for hotels of the range. During my stay, whenever an item was finished, the hotel staff will replenish with new food items. Food items generally include bakery, pastry, Singaporean/Malaysian local delicacies, Chinese delicacies and sometimes some Western delicacies. Entertainment- The hotel has three enclosed private pods near the reception that come with a laptop and a telephone. The telephone can be used to make free local calls. SUMMARY- Overall I feel that the hotel is the best of its range, providing facilities that can outmatch a 3- or 4-star hotel at 2-star prices. The hotel was clean, comfortable, the staff very friendly and the hotel has facilities that greatly exceeded other hotels of its price range.

Hotel is very well located a few minutes from Bugis and approximately 15 minutes walk from China Town, Little India and also Sun Tec where most of the Singapore Tours operate from. Plenty of good food locations near by. The hotel is clean and tidy and the staff are pleasant and helpful. 2 points I would like to see change are 1 - provide a small fridge in the rooms because when you walk around Singapore that cold drink when you return to the room is great. 2- provide bottle water for the guests as this is required when walking in the hot humid weather of Singapore, it costs little and would be appreciated by the guests.

i had stay at some hotels in singapore at the same level as marrison hotel, and i think marrison hotel is stil giving the best offer to us. i dont complain about room space, since most hotels room in singapore are smalls. the reception and room service are friendly and very responsible to make the room ready. when i come arround 4pm there was no cleaning service staff (cleaning service staff not always on site), the receptionist was just run up to our room, clean it and make it ready for us, and back to lobby with smile. when we check the room, her work was as perfect as cleaning staff work!, we give thumbs up! for her :). facilities are work right: tv, hairdryer, waterboiler, wifi have very good signal, bed is comfort, towels are clean white. location : very good, very near with bugis street (bugis junction + bugis market) you can found alot of food option from burgerking, mc donald, chinese food, steamboat etc. transportation : very easy to catch a taxi, and near to mrt, i'd love to stay at marrison hotel again :) it consider modern, clean, friendly, good location for shopping and sightseeing, and cheap for it class.

Well, Actually i never planned to choose this hotel while on Singapore. but it turns out to be one of the best things that happen on my trip. Location : very near from bugis location, surrounded by a very interesting street such as Arab Street and the most instragramable street on SG , Haji Lane. for moslem i highly reccomended this place coz you cant found a lot of tasty and halal food around, with a view of the biggest mosque in SG. Cleanliness : Room is very compact as i can tell, very comfort with a new interior there. Staff: Well they are exceptional. very kind and broad smile on their face. never bother us and always provide everything that we need . Facilities : Room is very modern. they provide us a phone that allowed us to make a call or browsing. and the best thing is they rent it for free and we can use it outside the hotel. they provide a still and sparkling water near the receptionist which is very good deal cos a bottle of water can cost you 1 dollar there. Overall, i am very satisfied on my first visit on nuve hotel. i will go back for sure. and i very recommend this place for a solo or couple traveler, who want to save money but not feeling ease to living on hostel. this is 3 star hotel that feels like a 4 star hotel. Conclusion : Highly Recommended !

First time using Citadines group facilities, which satisfying enough. We are family with 3 children, booking 1 bedroom executive and stay for 4 night. 1. Room: Spacious and clean 2. Facilities: Gym, Laundry coin, water dispenser in each floor for free. It will be better if you have swimming pool 3. Location: 5 -6 minutes walk to Bencoolen MRT, Rochor MRT. 10 minutes walk to Bugis MRT, Little India MRT. Close to Bugis Junction, Bugis+, Sim-Lim Square. Lots of singaporean street just cross-by the hotel. 4. Good and helpful staff Note: Just wondering, my friend stay at the same time with us with same room type, charged with same price/night, (but booking it from other application). Fact that they don't get charge for sofa bed arrangement is quite shocking. We've been charge $50/night which confusing us since it's inside the room and should be free facility. Repeat Order: yes for sure, but we will try to order it from other application since they include sofa bed arrangement ^__^

I travelled to Singapore from Johor Bahru, It was our first time travel crossing the borders, so it was a long journey before we approached our stay at Bugis. I travelled with my mom, so comfort and easy access become an important aspect in searching for a budget hotel in Singapore. I picked Fragrance because of my personal reference, before this i had slept in one of Fragrance hotels and i was impressed by it's cleanliness and nice beds. Overall I was happy with the room, it was small.. but we almost spend the day outside so we have no problem with the small space. It was important for us to have a nice sleep after a long walk in Singapore, so comfortable bed was the best in this stay. I slept like a baby, it was quite busy and noisy in the morning... but at night it was quite. My bad about this hotel was the bathroom. It was so small, very very small... it made me laughed when i saw it... but surprisingly, the space is all i need for showering... minus all the water splash there-here haha... one thing i love is,,, it's very close to the Bugis MRT (green/blue line)... plus Bugis is great area for shopping too hahaha,,, because we used MRT to go to Changi Airport, it was a good thing that Bugis MRT has a green line straight to the airport... so we didn't have to changed lines to reach the destination... it's heavy caring a lot of luggage. I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for a budget hotel within the city and you are mostly be outside the hotel most of the time in your visit... If you tend to stay in a long period, i recommend to upgrade the room into deluxe, because it's much bigger, you won't feel too claustrophobic :) plus the deluxe should have a window... from what i saw from the Fragrance website.

Royal@Queens, Location on about 100m to entrance of MRT station, which is huge plus for Singapore, saves a ton of money on transport cost. Just a short stroll away from Bugis for shopping or Sim Lim for any phone or IT goody you can think of. The rooms is fairly big for Singapore and were very clean. There is a small fridge in the room as well. Staff, were very friendly and assisted with holding belonging while I went running every morning. THE TWIST..... breakfast. The hotel cater for a lot of tour groups that leave very early. If you plan on having a late breakfast, do not expect to have a wide veriety. They do not refill stock when finished. Although breakfast ends at 10:30 the staff start clearing the breakfast from 10am. When enquiring about the above, we were answered that breakfast ends at 10:30, meaning you must be finished eating by 10:30, they expect guest to have dished up by 10am latest. For the rest we enjoyed our stay, I will return to Hotel Royal@queens, but not book for breakfast.

Had the most relaxing and comfortable stay at the Intercon. The staff were all fantastic..Especially Michael, at check -in and Desmond and Peter. The rooms ( we upgraded to a suite on the 14th floor which had complimentary access to the Club Continental lounge) were super comfortable. Our college going daughter, stayed with us most nights and the fold out complimentary bed in the living room was extremely comfortable. The Club Lounge facilities are worth the extra money you pay..the food is par excellence and so is the service! The location is the best part of the hotel connected to Bugis Junction, it offers everything from shopping to eating ( every kind of cuisine) to entertainment ( the Cineplex is located on the top floor of Bugis Mall) This was one of the best stays we've had in Singapore and we are very regular visitors to the city and have stayed in many hotels and serviced apartments. Would give the Intercontinental 5 out of 5 stars!

i stayed for 4 nights at somerset and it have been wonderfull. i stayed in 1 bedrom deluxe with 3 young children (6,3,1 yo). with the king bed (180x200), living room with a sofa, fully equipped kitchen (electric stove, microwave, toaster, electric pot, plate, bowl, spoon, etc), they even provide you with dishwasher liquid and sponge. location just right in front of MRT bencoolen exit A, halal food just below the hotel. there is "putri" restoran that sell "padang" food and also accross the street we can find halal resto "sumber ayam" at the food republic food court. 7-11 also accross the street. Bugis jus 15min (30min small walk with children). taxi available in front of the hotel. we check out at 06.00 in the morning and there is a taxi in front of the taxi shelter in front of the hotel. overall its a very convenient stay and we will be back again if we ever go to singapore.

Santa Grand Bugis Hotel worth every pennies and cents during my 3-day stay in Singapore. The staff were very accommodative, the room was very clean, the breakfast was awesome, and it is super near to MRT Bugis Station as well as Bugis Junction -- where everything cheap and nice are sold there. It is very private despite the good location, that is also a heaven for pictures-taking! I'll definitely stay in this hotel again when I come back to Singapore in the near future. Getting to and from in singapore can be challenging, not with this hotel. Little India MRT station is a 5 min walk. Bugis street is also a 5 min walk for loads of shipping bargains galore. Have an authentic singapore ice cream sandwich located just before you cross the crosswalk to enter the Bugis shopping center. The staff was always welcoming and helpful at anytime you walked in the lobby. Long term bag check was available as we arrived on the morning flight and check-in was not until 3 pm. We just toured around a bit on the MRT and checked in later not having to tote our bags with us. We were offered a an upgrade to a nicer larger room one floor higher with (2) double beds. I debated in my head about taking it with no extra cost, but declined. We got a queen size bed, I don't know, but for a couple, you really want a queen or larger to sleep on. The downfall is the room size, it is a bit small. You can move around freely, but can get congested with a lot of bags on the floor. We used the folded bag stand to organize and make it comfortable. Shower, toilet, etc... nice, a little tough to dial in the water temp on the shower knob, I mean, its scorchin boiling hot or ice cube cold. Just took some experirmenting on get the handle in the right spot, the warm spot or cold if your back from a sweaty day in sing. The pool is right outside your window. There is a fitness area in the corner of the pool. Its in like a glass gazebo. They had quite a good aerobic, run, weight set-up. You could do your workout pretty easily using just maybe 3 pieces of the 7 or so pieces equipment inside. The pool has full chaise lounge chairs. Super relaxing, long pool, nice to do some laps or just cool off. There is a kids play area, so if your a family this is very good to break the boredom for the kids to doing something different than walk around with mom and dad on a hot sing day. I feel the 4 star price you pay, is really a 5 star hotel in comparison.

This hotel is very cheap than other hotel, there have many restaurants nearby, a restaurant that I recommand name is "Steamboat" there is buffef chinese food but the taste very near thai style. This hotel near Bugis MRT station, Bugis street, shopping mall and not far to go to the interesting place. I booked standard room for 2 nights, I got fourth floor It make me happy very much because my room is very quiet and air condition is very cold. First day when I checkin their elevator is out of order but they trying to repair it as soon as they can, finally It's work in evening. I'll book here again when I have chance to go to Singapore.

There is a Queen bed, AC, Water heater plus shower, Water closed, TV Cable. 4. Lift 5. Near Kampong Glam & Masjid Sultan & Masjid Malabar 6. Near Halal Foodstall (Nasi Padang, etc.) 7. Near Bus shelter 9. Near Bugis MRT station about 700m & Lavender MRT station about 600m 10. Pleasant and helpfull Staff 11. There is a tree in front of hotel (our room), so we could hearing bird twitter in the morning, always. 12. Azan (Athan) is clearly heard from Masjid Sultan, so we never left behind jamaah shalat. CONS: 1. TV Cable just a few channel, about 6 or 7 channel, no children channel 2. No Water Closed sprayer ------------- We will stay again in this hotel if went to Singapore.

Great hotel and wonderful friendly staff. We have met some trouble few days before our traveling period. However, the hotel staff try all their best to help us and provide the best service to us. Me and my friend came from 2 different countries, and only my friend will be arriving at the hotel, and she only can speak a little bit English only, however, when I write an email to the hotel, their efficiency on replying email and also arrangement to help my friend who came from Japan is just fantastic and appreciated. Never-ever thought that we have booked a very nice hotel and great staff. Hotel location just nice, friendly and helpful staff is the best, cleanliness of the hotel perfect. I asked my friend how's she going to rate the hotel for overall, without thinking, she replied me 10/10! Great hotel ever. And will return back to the hotel again. Last but not least, thank you very much to the hotel staff and also manager. We definitely will go back to stay with you again and introduce to everyone. TQ~

Here are some of Prons: - Location Near MRT Litte India - Naer Bugis, Near Mustafa, and others places. - Theres Malay/Chinese Restaurant Selera which taste very good in affordable price. - Near The verge Mall. - Free Coffe and Teh Tarik - I get quite big room, i brought my wife and 2 kids which is very comfort - Hot Water, enough Space, cool AC Cons: - Entrance Hotel is very small, hidden at back of Selera Restaurant. But if you asked the neighbourhood everybody will guide you easily. You have to take a very close look to the the signs - Make Up Room after 3 PM only. Overall this room is very recommended

Mr Aives (the staff, sorry if your name mistaken) was very polite and helpful! The breakfast was great, the cleanliness was great, worth every cent. Just 5 min walk from Bugis Junction and the Bugis MRT. Definetly will book this hotel if i came back to singapore!! You guys should book this hotel seriously, across the hotel, there’s a Thailand restaurant, i wasnt expected at all! The foos was goooood! Should try! Next to hotel many bar and rest. Good job!!
