Aurelio and Monteverde hotels & places to stay

We arrived a bit late, reception was closed but the security guard had the key card. So no issues there. Reception guys are very supportive and help you for anything that you as them. Inside they have a bar restaurant, swimming pool, play area and games for kids, Atm machine for cash withdrawal, a machine for buying bus/train/metro tickets (like the ones they have at all railway stations) and a tourist info Center. They buffet breakfast is available at an extra charge, but totally worth paying for. It was the best breakfast I had during my 10 day trip and the 4 hotels that I stayed at. We had booked a bungalow for 2 of us. It had 3 beds so 3 can easily sleep. Fascilities in the room were satisfactory. Only complain I have is regarding the blankets that they provided. They were not as clean, there were hair all over it. But they had provided extra bedsheets which we used as a shield against the dirty blanket. in my opinion it is the best place to stay for groups and families and even for couples. Only thing is that it is not near the city Center, but during my 3 days stay there I never faced any issues related to this. All in all a very good and satisfactory stay with many reasons to come back and to recommed the place to whoever visits Rome.

Rooms are much bigger then hotel rooms in the city, our room came with a bath, typically in the city you get a tiny tiny room with a very small shower. plenty of parking for coaches and cars, the route you drive by car to the central Rome easy, cost parking in Rome not expensive compared to parking in the city in UK. Staff helpful. If you want in your room a kettle, cups and coffee sugar etc you have to ask for it, they may or may not.charge for it. its on local bus route but its more suited for people who hire a car

Midas Hotel is Perfect for a ‘City Break’ if combined with some “rest days” (we booked 6 days) But note if going to Rome for a short weekend I would suggest an alternative hotel in the city centre within walking distance of all the sights. GOOD POINTS: * Great hotel. * Nice swimming pool & sunbathing area. * Reasonable buffet breakfast (book B&B is best) * Only 20 minute drive/cab ride from FCO airport or to Vatican (Hotel also offers a shuttle service can pre-book) * Great staff especially some of the bar staff are very helpful & friendly. * Nice Bar. Ok prices. * Supermarket on the door step. Great for having cheap drinks & snacks in your room. * McDonalds & 2 other restaurants next door. * Bus stop on main road with multiple buses to reach Metro Stations or Vatican or change bus again for city centre (allow 45mins-1 hour). * Public transport very cheap only €1.50 for 100 minute so ideal for single journey. Or €7 for 24 hour ticket (at time of writing this). * UBER is great in Rome

This hotel was not the best, but considering how expensive most hotels in Rome are - especially when paying in U.S. dollars - it was alright. The location wasn't too near all of the sights, but it was really close to a bus stop with a lot of public (and cheap) buses...and so that was very helpful. Also, our room was very clean and nice...it just didn't have a good view, which was frustrating because we were here on our honeymoon! We asked the staff if we could switch rooms to something on a higher floor, but they said we couldn't and weren't really that accommodating to our requests. The breakfast was good in the morning...but overall, probably wouldn't stay here again.

My wife, my step son and I stayed in this look more like a school or campus type of hotel for 2 nights and we both love this place very much . We booked this hotel in advanced and the rate was quite reasonable. This hotel offer the continental type of breakfast and the food is sufficient and with variety of bred, fruit, and all other deserts. For the money that we pay is quite reasonable. The room is very clean with deep cold facet water but it's quite good for drinking comparing to most of the water fountain the water quality is quite good. The environment and the outdoor scenery full of trees and grass around, it's very nice and quiet. The best thing is this hotel is quite close to the major metro line and only walking for 5 to 7 minutes and you can reach McDonald and the train station is just nearby. And there are a bunch of the restaurant around with the decent price for Italy food and other style of dishes. You have a lot to select and the surrounding environment won't keep you bored. It's quite safe to take the Metro even in the late night because a lot of people will be hang out in the bars and restaurants all the nights. This hotel is so closed to the avenue to down town metro but inside of the campus you can hardly to see any traffic or hear any noise around. It's good for the whole family with the kids here. You feel quite secured. The receptionist is a lady who is quite young and with very good attitude in helping us figuring out the direction and the place we like to visit.The staffs are very hospitality. All of us love this place and we will definitely return if we have the chance to go back to Italy. Thanks to the hotel staffs and we had very good time there.

A great place to stay in Roma. The staff is very nice. The A/C was defective and they decided to upgrade our room without any charge. The carpet would need a little refresh, but besides that, the place is tidy clean. The Vatican is a 30-minute walk from the hotel. There is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel's gate. You can leave your car at the hotel for free. 4.5/5 stars for us!

This hotel is situated quite far away from any of the main attractions in Rome but that didn't bother us as we like a stroll in the morning. It's about 15 mins walk away to the metro station (the hotel does have a shuttle service to the metro station although we didn't use it) and about 20 mins on the metro to get to some of the main sites. The hotel was very clean and in a quiet location so great when you come home from a busy day in Rome. There is a restaurant - we only had breakfast there once and to be honest, for €5 it was OK, but wasnt really our cup of tea so ate out the rest of the time. Overall, its a great hotel for the price, clean, nice staff - so as long as you dont mind being far out from the main centre of Rome, I wouks highly recommend!

This hotel is simply brilliant. It's a little way out of the city centre but this is no problem at all...in fact, it's probably better than trying to stay right in the centre. Especially if you're driving. This hotel has ample free parking and they provide a regular shuttle into the city centre for €2.00. Even if you end up taking a taxi, a trip to the city centre is only €15.00. The staff are amazingly polite, friendly and helpful. A wonderful welcome after a long drive. The hotel isn't much to look at from the outside but the inside is great. Very modern and cool. The rooms are plenty big enough and well appointed. Not much to see out of the windows but it doesn't matter. The minibar has free water and soft drinks, which I thought was a nice touch. I was a little shocked to see that every room service order has a €15.00 surcharge (on top of the usual expensive room service prices) but then they redeemed themselves enormously when I found a little flyer saying that you could have a pizza, an arancini and a soft drink delivered right to your room (made in the restaurant downstairs) for only €10.00 (with no surcharge). The breakfast is a little odd. The food is fine and the coffee is good but everything is spread out so you end up spending about 15 minutes walking all over the restaurant to get your coffee, water, juice, food, etc. Once you've got everything you need though, the breakfast is great. They even have a take away coffee machine so that you can take one back to your room. The hidden gem of this hotel is the pool and spa. We booked the hotel mainly for sightseeing so we didn't really pay attention to the spa. On the day of checkout however, after a long day's sightseeing the day before, we thought we'd check out the pool. It's fantastic! You walk through the very modern and expansive spa to the outdoor pool which is beautiful. Set in the hotel gardens which have been very well maintained. There's also an indoor pool if you don't fancy going outside.

I stayed at this hotel with my husband and 2-year-old son in mid August. The place was good with friendly & helpful hosts. It was a 3-5 min walk to shops, supermarkets and metro station. There's also a bus stop just outside the apartment which has a bus that could take us straight to the city centre (Piazza Venezia) in about 30min. Hence, it's very convenient staying here. However, our room floor was a bit dusty and sticky, while the balcony floor gives us the feeling that it has not been cleaned for months! The electric kettles in the tiny shared kitchenette was coated with dirt which could not be washed off and caused the boiled water to be filled with 'white flaky stuff'. Having said this, the bathrooms and beddings were nice and clean. So we just put up with the little 'dirt' when we were there...

Hotel Aurelius was probably the best thing that happened to us in Europe. The staffs were out of the world with their professionalism and help, and the hotel itself was perfect in everyway imaginable. To be honest, when I was looking for a hotel in Rome, I was slightly skeptical about Hotel Aurelius given that we were not really a fan of its traditional design seen in the pictures and it seemed far from town centre. How wrong was I! The room was clean, big and most of all pretty modern in many aspects contrary to the pictures. I would say the pictures really don't do the hotel justice. Upon arriving, we were greeted by the warmth of front desk Manager Gianfranco who extended his hospitality to us very well. He gave us a quick intro of Rome which was very helpful, told us lots of tips and amenities around. Throughout the stay, his other colleague Ihab was superb in his service as well, whipping up fantastic breakfast according to our requirements. (The lobby was under renovation, so they delivered breakfast to our rooms daily. We requested for different things daily and he accomodated to EVERYTHING!) Location wise was nothing to worry about. Metro was just a 5 minute walk away and it brings you to all the major attractions in no time. You can get to the other line in just about 15-20 minutes as well and there are very good bus services outside of the hotel. The only downside to our stay was the dodgy WIFI. It was slow and might need some upgrading. I like the system though, you don't have to re-login every time you go back to the hotel, it just connects back automatically and you can request for as many password from the reception for your various devices. Overall it was a mindblowing stay. If the management is reading this, please give them a bloody pay rise and keep such fantastic staffs in your hotel.

Bathtub glass panel is very good and water will not come out to floor while bathing however good to have a mat on bath tub as it is very slippery and we cannot afford anyone to fall. 5. Slightly lack of manpower at reception, cashier and concierge - sometimes only one on the floor for different needs - get shuttle bus ticket , check out service, tour booking, answering incoming calls, etc etc etc 6. House keeping is good - sensitive to requirements. 7. Shuttle service to St Peter and to downtown - please never stop this Would recommend this hotel to anyone ...

The hotel is in a funky type style. The staff are friendly although maybe a bit laid back, but that is on par for Italy. Nice little bar near reception and the restaurant. The fixed menu at the reception was not to popular. The hot food(pizza d pasta) was Luke warm to cold, when we ate. The rooms are clean and in good condition. The beds are comfy and the shower was strong and hot. Although the shower was over the bath. The hotel also has a fitness centre that was reasonably stocked and a swimming pool. It’s a 15 - 20 euro ride into the centre of Rome CBD, about 20 minutes away. The wait for a taxi was less than 3 minutes each time. Not to many cafes or restaurants within walking distance. Still well priced even when you add the price of taxis to the cost. We would stay here again

Our trip started at this B&B, and it was a great start! The room was rather large and well equipped. The breakfast was nice, but above all it was the staff that really made our stay great. They were very friendly and helpful, giving kind advices and helping with anything they can. Regarding the location - it is very close to the metro. Around there is a nice supermarket with decent prices, we went there every evening to buy groceries. It looks close to the Vatican, but actually it's not as close as you think. It is only 1.5 km from the Vatican, but the entrance is at the opposite side, which adds another 1.5km. All adds up to 3km of walking. Not that bad, but if you want to avoid walking a lot the best option is metro. Highly recommended!

When we got there, we had to wait 15-20 minutes for this lady (who also lives at this place) to show up. She was perhaps one of the rudest people I have ever met, and talked down to me and all of my friends as if we were little children. The "breakfast" is a gross cold croissant, instant coffee, and yogurt. There is also an extremely limited amount of hot water, and you need like 3 keys to get in to the building, all of which are annoyingly similar and difficult to use. Location also not great but close to the metro and bus stop. The one good thing i can say is that the psycho owner of the house stayed out of our way for the most part. She also said that if we are going to lock our room we have to leave the key at the house, which kind of defeats the purpose.

My boyfriend and I had the most amazing stay at Domus Casaletto! We had the triple room with a balcony. It was spacious, beautiful and newly furnished. Don't be freaked out when you arrive at a block of flats, the apartment is absolutely stunning inside! Even though it's situated a little further out of the hustle and bustle of the city center, it is right next to the tram station which takes you to Piazza Venezia in less that 20 min. It's the first and last stop on the trams root so you won't get lost. Deborah was the perfect hostess and made us feel right at home. She explained pretty much everything we needed to know about Rome, transport and where to buy the tickets, best sites to see, best restaurants to go to as soon as we were set up in our rooms and plotted each on a map for us. This really made life very easy for us and didn't struggle to get around at all. She even booked us restaurants for dinner! Plus, She prepared us the most yummiest breakfast every morning! We will definitely be staying Domus Casaletto when we return to Rome. We were in Europe for 2 weeks and this was by far the best place we stayed in. Beautiful rooms, stunning hostess, definitely the place to stay!!
